I’ve always wanted to share where I grew up, so today’s video holds a truly special place in my heart. Everything about this environment shaped my cooking, my values, and the person I am today. What childhood memories do you have?❤Thank you for watching!
@@MiwasJapaneseCooking I understand 💜 I will be keeping an eye on your channel & can’t wait to see as you learn about kimono & then surprise your grandma! 😍 Thank you so much for sharing your great-grandmother’s house with us & all of your sweet, beautiful memories there!!!!
I would love to see a Kimono video ❤. Also, I think it is safe to say that your great-grandmother is very proud of your journey, sharing all the wonderful traditions with the world. We thank you very much!
The house looks so beautiful even the garden . It was sweet that you shared memories of your wonderful great grandma and the joys you had growing up in the house . ビデオを共有していただきありがとうございます。今後のビデオを見るのが待ちきれません。いつも彼らを楽しみにしています。 🙇🏻♀️❤️
Miwa, thank you for sharing your wonderful memories! I could feel my eyes filling up with tears of joy! It made me reflect upon my own childhood memories. Please never stop sharing. Your videos bring so many of us joy! To answer your question: yes we would like to see you in a kimono! So hope you learn soon! Much love to you and your family! ❤️
Miwa, Heartfelt memories that remain with you no matter where you are. Thank you for sharing them. Yes, would love to see your kimono video journey. Your new tableware pieces made by gifted artisans look beautiful and always so unique.
This was so lovely to see your childhood home. Thank you for sharing! Seeing your childhood home through adult eyes is a fascinating, isn't it? I'm glad you have such fond memories. The kimono you showed was absolutely stunning and you would look beautiful wearing it. With shoes and purse to match!!! It's interesting that as we get older, we learn to appreciate our elders so much more. Your grandmother must be filled with joy knowing that you are interested in learning more of the old culture. It warms my heart! Please continue posting your journey in learning how to wear a kimono!
Beautiful the whole video I am so happy for you and your family. Your children are blessed to have such a beautiful place to visit and learn of past generations.
Hi Miwa-San….thank you for such a beautiful video about your Great-Grandmother’s home. It is simply lovely and reminded me to appreciate my family history and Japanese traditions and culture. My parents also had a kotatsu in their home. Kio tsukete 😊🇨🇦🍁
Love these old houses! I would love to live in one. The kimono are lovely. My host mother where I lived when I was 19 does tea ceremony so she is used to wearing kimono. She taught me so I can wear a kimono and tie an obi, though I'm more comfortable with tying an obi for a yukata. But as I hardly wear either it does fade how to do it.
Since being a young child I have always loved kimono! I would absolutely love to see you learn to wear them! Especially since they hold so much love and memories to you 🩷
So beautiful! I agree that I wish my kids did not have so much of a city life and had the chance to play freely outside more. I love that your great grandmother’s house still captures all of the charm of your childhood. We’d love to see you try to wear a kimono. ❤️
Ogh my gosh I felt a little bit as I was in the movie The geisha and I live that movie 🤩🤩🤩. Thank You for sharing your private story with us 🙏🏼 this is so special and inspiring
I love this video. If I went to visit your mum, it would be very difficult to leave! Having slow and calm moments each day are very important to me, and I also love old things, especially home things like old gardens, kitchen items, and furniture. The older the better! Maybe your mum would hire me as a housekeeper or something lol. And yes, please learn how to wear kimono, I'd love to hear all about your journey, and also more about kimono in general. Are you just going to wear it around your home, or will you go out in it as well?
I know I'm late to the discussion, but as someone who would like to learn kitsuke and struggles with tying obi, I'd really like to watch you learn as well 😃
I would love to see your kimono video. My husband’s mother is half Japanese and her older sister tried to teach me how to tie the obi on my daughter’s kimono. I still don’t know how to do it lol
It is always baffling to me how in two generations, the custom of wearing kimono has died out almost completely. My great-grandmother ONLY wore kimono. I don't think she even owned yofuku. My grandmother loved kimono and wore them often, but most of the time it was more practical for her to wear yofuku. When she got older, it was too difficult for her to wear kimono and she stopped. My mother has worn a kimono maybe three or four times in her life and never learnt how to put it on herself.
Exactly the same thing happened in my family too..... I really need to start learning how to wear the Kimono to take over the tradition. Thank you for sharing your family story with us!
I want to add onto your comment. 😅 I’m American, but even just home cooking/preserving foods, things my great grandmother did have basically been completely lost. I don’t know how this has happened so fast. 🥲

@@MiwasJapaneseCooking Yes!! Your grandma will be so proud of you!!! 💞 How do you learn to wear kimono? Can your grandma teach you?
@@Ccav24 she can't teach as she gets tired very easily. She needs to stay in bed. I need to find a teacher or someone to collab😍
