Doing a fuel consumption test in a Mercedes Benz E220 CDI Facelift (MY 2014 / S212). Aim of this test is not to give an exact specification of the fuel consumption of this car, but to show an approximation of the fuel consumption under real life circumstances.
As the result also depends on tyres, size of the rims, road condition, weather and equipment that may alter the exact weight of the car, your personal experience may differ from mine.
I'm driving e220 bluetec . It's amazing . 70mph after 120 miles motorway gives 60.1 mpg(uk)
At 70mph on a hilly a road I get around 45 mpg with a bit of stop start ot traffic lights etc.. On a motorway at 70 mph with a fair few hills around 100 miles I easily get 50mpg..since I serviced the auto box it had improved slightly.. I don't feather the throttle on acceleration either.. The engine runs a lot quieter with miller's additive in the fuel.. 25ml to 23 litres.. This is uk mpg by the way
220 cdi 2007 (170hp) arround 7.5l/100km with 140-150 km/h.
my c220 cdi(2012) 7g tronic plus , at 120 km/h only uses 5.2 l/100km
c 220 cdi around 1600kg and this e 220 cdi estate around 1850kg...250kg weight difference :D
My 2014 E 300 hybrid has average consumption during last 24 000 km/2 years 5,3 liters / 100 km including all kinds of normal everyday driving. In winter studded tires and summer normal summer tires.

E220 cdi from 2014 it is biturbo engine?
The Consumption of the 220CDI ist quite poor. My E270 (2003, 177HP) needs the same on 245/265 R18 and on 225 R16 even less. My Whole-Time Average over 120.000km is 6.9l/100km
6,9 is good ? Got 8,5 on petrol 2.2 alfa brera 185km and 11,5 on CLS V8 388km....
Anstatt sich nur auf das Fahrverhalten zu versteifen, wäre es sicherlich schön gewesen, 1. auf die abgeschrittenen Seitlichen Instrumentenfelder und das nicht mittige Lenkrad hinzuweisen. Na ja, entweder Optik oder Design?
wow fuel computer sucks. Not digital lel.
I think the shown figures will be even less. In the comments and my own experience with different Mercedes diesel cars show even less fuel consumption. The most amazing thing that noticed my attention is the 7G automatic gearbox. It revs just above 3000 rpm at 200 km/p hours

With my CLA220 CDI AMG i managed a 3.2L consumption at an average speed of 120 KM/H !!!

Moja stara vectra 1.9cdti kombi i również automat ma bardzo zbliżone spalanie do tego merca .postęp technologiczny gdzie on jest jakoś nie widzę
Dopisz jeszcze ile ta Twoja Vectra waży, ile ma koni i jaki moment, i zobaczysz że ten Mercedes pali połowe tego co Vectra.

All 220 have biturbo
that is turbo, not biturbo, 250 cdi have the same 2143 ccm engine but with 2 turbos
the facelift e220 has the 2.1 twin-turbo 4 cyl. the e250 has the same engine but 30 more hp
My e220 cdi Coupé Facelift from 2013 definately isnt a twin Turbo!
My E 220 Bluetec facelift definitely has twin-turbos, E 250 is exactly the same engine just different software, I think we all know this by now, oh and the same injectors.

My e220 2014 100-120 uses 4.7 5.0
This car is advertised with 5.8-6.1 l/100 km urban, so how do you manage to double that?
kize32 did you ever drive this engine around town or just ask like that ? My C250 CDI which is basically the same engine, has the same consumption around town. In town consumption really depends on a lot of things
No I haven't driven it. I drove Megane dci as a taxi around town, which gets around 5 liter easily even with a heavy foot plus people and luggage, traffic lights...But on the other hand my colleagues would get 8l with the same car, which shows you need to know how to drive economically, which this guy doesn't.
kize32 don't know what to say. What engine volume is your dci?
kize32 I'm also thinking this car is much heavier than a Megane
it's 1.5 105hp. C class is only 100 kg heavier. It is more powerful but also the engine is newer generation euro 5 with start stop and what not. It should get at least 7liter in town in my opinion, not 9,5
