- Dave tackles a frustrating but common problem on his 2008 Sienna - a broken Homelink garage door button on the upper console. We have to dodge a few bullets and overcome some frustration on this particular repair!
Dave, your video looks just like one of my repairs with screws and screwdriver heads flying everywhere!! At least you didn't drop one of the screws into a crack in the car like I somehow manage to do every time. :D Great video and shows me exactly what I need to do for my van. Thanks!!👍
Thanks so much Dave. I had to glue the mode button on my 2004 sienna about 3 months ago. I followed your video and it worked great. I used super glue and so far it's still holding. I hated to hear you sold your sienna. I was looking forward to more sienna videos. Thanks again and God bless.
Thanks!! Yeah I hate that we sold it. The next video I was planning was to replace the driver's side CV axle, but when my wife told me she was ready for something smaller and got more serious about looking I realized that wasn't going to happen. It was a terrific car. I'm glad the video was helpful!!! Thanks for watching!
Nice repair video Dave. When you started the repair I thought no way it would work, but your the man! Won’t doubt you again. Stay safe.
Thanks so much!
Do you even need the buttons for it to work? Are those just for comedic purposes to hide the “real” buttons underneath ?
Actually, you kinda do, because the backside of the buttons has a small molded plastic pin that pushes the membrane in just at the right point of contact. Without it, you'd have to really jam your finger/thumb into that hole. I love Toyotas, but for this piece, it's a pretty flimsy design.
Buttons 1 and 3 always break.
Nice Russian repair, no parts required. Ivan would be proud
That's about the best compliment anyone has given me!!! That's awesome! Thanks!
Bought the whole unit at the pick n pull and swapped the buttons over. I think it cost $8
Dad gum it!
