Nike's Secret Shoe Factory In China
Вставка
- Опубліковано 11 лип 2024
- The last 30 years have seen tremendous changes in the production of sports shoes. When the costs of production began to rise in the United States and Europe, and workers organized and exercised collective bargaining power, sports shoe companies relocated their factories or sought subcontractors in Asia where wages were much lower and where systematic repression of labor movements promised a 'docile' workforce. Companies like Nike and Reebok began to subcontract to medium and small-scale companies in East Asia, particularly China and South Korea.
China is now the biggest shoe producing country in the world, producing over one-third of the world's top brand-name sports shoes. In many ways it is an ideal setting for the sports shoe multinationals and their subcontractors. Massive unemployment, low wages, the lack of enforcement of labour laws and standards, repression of independent union organising

No wonder UA shoes are almost the same as authentic nike sneakers.. it’s the same people making it and they get better working conditions in a sweatshop..
What does UA mean?? Lol

yes i agree. it's 1:1 to retail

Nike switched from having factories in China making shoes. To a subcontractor making them for Nike. This is to create a firewall/barrier where Nike says, we don't know, we use a subcontractor, talk to them.☮️

As a sneakerhead I thank everyone involved.
I second that
You know the video is great when you watch the whole thing even with the worst music on loop💀
Very sad that Nike continues this. Michael Moore has a documentary THE BIG ONE where Phil Knight claims no one in America really want to make shoes. Even after people in Detroit said they would.smh
He might have thrown them a few lowballs. That’s probably they didn’t want to make shoes for him.
Americans would want $25 an hour to make shoes. If shoes were made in USA they'd be $500 retail for most Jordan's & sb dunks especially. Alot of Americans do make shoes, they charge minimum $1000. It's alot of work.
That’s crazy
A lot of quality boots are made in the US they average retail starting at 300 to 1000 dollars those are small boot companies
Imagine Nike with their inflated prices we would be paying 800 for some rubber foam and synthetic glued shoes
They will go out of business
.....and the fact they'd be stealing all the shoes out of the factories for themselves and to resell.
This is the main reason i choose to buy high quality reps.
I pay less with almost the same quality.
Since Nike never pay the taxes.
So .. why should i pay for their non taxed products.
where do you find them ? aliex//// ?
Personally I understand its not as simple as it looks but at the same time if they're a multi-million dollar company I'm sure they can do better for factories
They can but they don't want to. Just like apple with their nets to catch jumpers
@@hairbeauty8083 on point! :) These companies don't give a f#*k about people, working conditions, ethical things - "it's all about the Benjamins baby!" 🖖
@@hairbeauty8083Foxconn, no Apple.
What I find funny is that Nike accuse Xinjiang of Slave labor but what they are doing is pretty much that, "slave labor" but underpaid and working in the worse conditions.
I wonder which one of those 700 factories my kicks come from!🤔🤔
Please educate yourself to learn about facts foreign trade.
All I wanna know is which factory makes 1:1 reps that pass authentication:)
Right!

Ikea needs to get into the clothing and shoes business.
And now air Jordan's cost like $499
No they dont unless you buying on black market
@@MyNameJamaal
Amazon is not the black market 😂😂
Black market? Those are stolen goods. Remember, BLM raided Nike and Gucci shops in Philly. They also did the 🍎 stores. Now, the Black people have also been offering these goods on Amazon. Hence, Amazon could also be considered a "Black Market" or a Fence.
China has much invested in America they make 99% of all our imported goods. Think about it
It's more like America invested in China.
BRAZY 😮
Well... with all respect to the points made regarding the labor issues in Chinese factories, I reckon that's why we get good quality products at a good price. Nobody will be happy if Nike now decides to address the issue and sort them out completely but at the same time up the prices double to what they currently sell. Imagine Nike Tanjun becomes $100? Not nice.
I'd prefer to pay more for more ethically made products. I only own 2 pairs of shoes, a pair of boots and a pair of sneakers, but both are made in the US. Shop for fewer more ethically made things and wear them until they wear out.
That is what American company do
8am to 9pm? I think I'll just buy and wear fakes. They are most likely coming out of the same factory anyway.
agree
OEM .. that the same material.. if not.. lab meterial can checking one by one material using for shoes
❤who owns those factory negative and positive ❤😊😊😊
Nike Motto: Exploit your worker. Extort your customer.
Cheap labor in china. if Nike shoes is made in US it would be expensive. But I will still prefer to buy US made shoe.
I didn't know "Slaves" are qualified to use some machines in factories. Do you know you need to be properly trained and qualified in order to such modern machineries?
Majority comments are about comments 👀
The picture you labelled as "Zhang Rongwu" is definitely not Zhang Rongwu....
I am big experience very nice shoes
whats crazy is those chinese companies will be 10 other companies and those 10 will each have 10 under them. i.e. all lead to forced labor camps.
Wow…
Only 3 comments Damnn.
So basically it’s Real reps floating around in some way
major facts becuz when i order my kicks from china my supplier alwayz make sure they are 100% genuine leather....she gave me the whole history about nike shoes many factorys there so go figure
How do they keep cost per unit so low if they do not use forced labor?!
just ordered a 'made by you' pair of air 95s, cost nearly 200GBP which i order twice a year.. Curiosity brought me here, makes me wonder how they can ask that kind of price. I hope they at least pay these workers properly.
BTW: This video is Not an exposee it's more of a how-its-made or a sales video? Weird. ☮️

Yes but where is factory bro

@@saifansari7402, the Nike and Adidas factories could all be found in Bandung on the island of Java.
Big facts💯
Real people, real, good quality material, real factories, they are all the same shoes,. When they come over here to the U.S they price them how they want.
They need to have a program giving back to people that can't afford Nikes like once a month give back sneakers for less fortunate. Not everybody could afford Nike you know I don't understand these companies. They got so much money but he's still greedy greedy
What would they be doing if they weren't working for nike?
Put up a shoe factory in 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Did ai make this video, its just a compilation of images with a voiceover. Lol

A lot of info. No substance. I think most people want to know simply are things getting worse or better and how fast?
I just purchased Nike, should I wear it ?
yes, litteraly everything is made by children.
Almost all products are made in China, even food.
@@polopolo8105 food no, but literally everything is and children make it
By all means, wear it. Show the world what good and peaceful muslims are capable of making. Allahu akbar! Thank you Lord for Nike being inclusive of muslims. Praise the Lord!
it's totally up to you. Personally I prefer a shoe that can properly grip on wet tarmac, pavement or what so ever.

Hi
So secret he can make a video about it... Foh.
All shoes come from China
A country who isn’t self sufficient won’t survive or exist 50 to 100 years from now. Think about it 😊
I don’t buy Nike because of this!
.
It’s rlly boring and unwanted information
Allahu akbar! Thank you for providing jobs for the poor Uyghers, Nike.
Honestly, I don’t really care. Because of Nike, these people in China get two bowls of rice for dinner instead of one. We also get our shoes for affordable prices. It’s a win-win in my book.
WTF lmao? what a comment
You been there w them🤔 smfh you don't know wtf they got going on and youre over here w a silver spoon in your mouth acting like you lived it before you probably ain't even ever been poor.
I really believe that you don't understand how forced labour works. If you don't know something don't comment on it.
