loml does actually mean love of my life, she just flipped it on its head, and thats why the song ends with 'loss of my life' its gut wrenching

Notice how she says he called her the love of her life but NEVER mentions that he was the love of her life then says he is the loss of her life instead of love of her life. This song literally find it sooo relatable. Its so heartbreaking. :(

In the beginning she is being told she is the love of [his] my life and at the end he becomes the loss of hers. So it's actually both love and loss.
You both have come a long way and you hit the nail on the head. Taylor is a genius when it comes to sad songs, The Prophecy and Loml are now my favorites.

She's truly on her own level compared to every other artist currently. There are some that are popular (Ariana, Billie, Sabrina, Olivia, etc) but NO ONE compares to Taylor❤
The TTPD section of the Eras Tour is INCREDIBLE, this song and "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?" are my 2 favourite I think, but every song is PERFECTION ❤ so impactful for millions of fans , ranging from children, teens, all the way up to seniors in their 80's etc!! She has a way of connecting to the masses in a way that is unseen. The easter eggs she talks about leaving years in advance, makes it a game for her fans to connect the dots and find hints!! She's also INSANELY generous with her money, and if people looked into it at all they'd be astonished at the various things she's done for fans and food banks, etc. ❤ she deserves every bit of her fame
There is still SO much hatred online for her, and it's not deserved in the slightest. Haters just regurgitate incorrect and/or biased "information" that they picked up online. Getting their info from gossip magazines that don't report correct information 😅
It's seemingly become a "trendy" thing to hate on Taylor, which is just sad.
I'm convinced the haters that claim to have listened to her music, only hear the singles (radio hits) that were overplayed at the times they came out, but aren't paying attention to the lyrics and seeing the connections between songs and other references outside of her own music..
It's incredibly refreshing to see so many men reacting to her newest album (and previous ones as well), and being just absolutely in awe of her by the end of it 😊❤ she wouldn't be where she was if she wasn't popular (but the haters will say she sucks which is literally delusional😂)

Taylor sings, he was the love of her life, obv she was feeln it.. he was talking rings n cradles isn’t ok, when it’s not what you believe will happen? Then, TayTay fills in the story, like she always does, she’s heartfelt, brilliant..n more than ever today! Crazy, since her 1st album, n her vocals are stronger, n her stage presence n performance on the Eras Tour is epic, flippn epic.. 3 1/2hrs, 3-4nts in a row, then travels to her next city..103 out of 105 concerts.. Flippn Incredible ❣️ She hasn’t seen Travis for a month n she’s missing him.. but he had mini training camp, Chiefs SB Rings arrived with a party.. n heard he’s doing a few things w acting, game show host, New Heights live, sold out stadium show..now he has a break till July training camp.. they’ve been busy! so I think he’ll be at 1 of her UK shows, maybe Wembly..thn, think she has a 5 day break before performing in Netherlands.. so hope they have time together.. they def stay in the most lavish places, so cool❣️

Beautifully sad lyrics. Loml is one of my favorite Taylor Swift songs. I think it's not about Joe, but about a guy she first met over 10 years before and they were off and on in between. Taylor says they were just kids when they first met, in the lyrics. I think that this guy may have had issues that kept them apart. 10+years later, she believed he had grown up, and was ready to try again. Unfortunately noone told Taylor there were still issues. This guy wasn't strong enough to fight for their love, or put up with negative media, so he pannicked, ghosted her, and denied their love. 😢
A few parts may reflect Taylors disappointment in the 6 year relationship with Joe ending, thinking they too could have had it all, love, marriage, children. I think most of the lyrics point to the other guy. Happily, Taylor found Travis Kelce.❤ I don't want to say who I think the "guy" is, but not Joe, as they were not kids when they met. Whoever, (no name) it's about, he was the, loss of her life. 😢

For me its 100% about joe.
“you cinephile, in black and white” we all know joe is an actor and cinema lover.
“holy ghost” taylor refers to joe as a ghost in “…ready for it?” (but if hes a ghost, then i can be a phantom) and also in “how did it end?” (my beloved ghost and me).
when she says “your impressionist paintings”, its a callback to “peace” (you paint dreamscapes on the wall).
I do think she mentions matty in the song when she says: “a con man sells a fool a get-love-quick scheme”. Matty being the “con man”.
But the rest is all about joe, after all he was the one she thought she would marry and build a family with (“give you my wild, give you a child”) “ talking rings and talking craddles”, “I wish I could unrecall how we almost had it all”.
She feels like she gave him all those years for nothing. So he’s the loss of her life.
Thats just my opinion, though.
