No you did not have this issues with Atto because the outdoor temperatur was higher and then the heat pump could cool. You can not get cooling from a BYD heat pump when it's too cool.

You should use an ODB reader to get the correct data about battery.

Yes I know, was not in my video backpack. It is now part of my standard equipment... Bit to late for this, I know.

More great content. Do you plan to test the Megane EV???

I wouldnt call this e-waste with wheels. It’s just not optimal in all situations. Like all BYDs models. You get what you pay for. When compared to like a Tesla equivalent.

Is it possible to tune the tempo Limit over 160 km/h? For example 180 km/h?

You arent supposed to drive it so fast: this one has a Dutch license plate, so BYD only needs to make sure it can run 130km/h for a while.
One can't really expect, that an EV can run at the top speed the whole time: the battery gets to hot from it, even it there is liquid cooling. It's just not designed, to be an Autobahn car.
Also anyone driving an EV like this in the real world: I get you doing this for testing purposes? He or she didn't get the memo about driving an EV, because driving fast and also fast charging is a recipe to destroy an EV.
Then one can argue? Only with the Leaf that's the case? But if the battery pack, heats up so quickly? Than liquid cooling, can't avoid overheating a battery pack either. Even Tesla's get overheated, when driving them at top speeds.

The BYD Doping? The name sounds right. 😂😂😂

Ridiculous test - this is not a car that was designed or should consistently speed at 160km (the maximum speed allowed in Australia is 110km). Great little city car, lots of space and good handling/features for less money than an equivalent ICE car. The latest software updates 1.2 and 1.3 have fixed all the ADAC steering, lane keeping, traffic sign etc issues. Also now has wireless Carplay (unlike Tesla). If you want to play around on the autobahn, try the Seal instead. I have no problem charging at 88Kw here (even on a hot day), but 99% charge at home anyway (6 euros to fill the battery using off peak power).

This would be a total deal breaker if the cooling system isn't working properly. The Dolphin is (was) my last hope since other EVs suck or are too expensive.

Who the stupid who want to use ev in highways? Daily? Why?
The ev's good usage is in the city and under 100 km/h..
This is not an optimal usage. This is a diesel area..

This review shows how crappy this car is. Not matching the details on what I saw in Chinese commercials. They even comparing this to tesla. WTF?🤣🤣🤣

BYD battery cooling is crap. After 38,000 km with BYD Han, I must say I am very disappointed with BYD. If it is colder than 5 degrees C, the heat pump is not able to cool the battery and does not start at all when it should cool battery. It only heats in cold weather. This means that with repeated fast charging along the autobahn, you will already get a complete chargegate on the second charge with a charging time from 10-80% in 1 hour and 20 minutes and charging speed of 38 kw. from 50% soc! This because BMS is lowering the charge speed very much at battery temp. 46 degrees C. Without cooling it runs up to 51 degrees very fast. And after the charging you will have rapid gate with only 160 kw output.
The car does not have 507 HP. On my carscanner I have never seen more than 330 kw and that is 449 Hp regardless of battery temperature, outside temperature, soc etc.
In addition, all BYD Hans and Atto cars have problems with liquid-cooled cables on fast chargers. With Dolphin I don't know. Vibrations in the cables cause the charging to be interrupted. This is especially true of Ionity's Tritium chargers. Allego's Alpitronic chargers are better. And if this is not enough, BYD does not charge on Tesla V3 and V4 SC for everyone. Only V2. Then I haven't mentioned even life-threatening auto steering and ridiculously bad cruise control plus many, many other bugs that they newer are fixing. Warning stay away! Chinese Garbage!

If what you say is true about the heat pump it does explain the behaviour, but I do agree then that is terrible design... Next time I have my ODB reader with me so I can give more detailed information about what is going on.

recharging of this shits at public rechargers are more costly then ordinary fuel and of course less range and you must wait hour if you are first in line or if it is some crappy charger ....
