We've had a C140 600 SEC S74 by RENNtech, sitting at RENNtech HQ for about a year now. The car is a testament to Hartmut Feyhl's masterful work on Mercedes cars. He began with AMG and became technical director for North America, before eventually deciding to stay in the USA and open his own tuning shop, RENNtech. Hartmut gave us a tour of the entire RENNtech facilities, after which we assessed the beat up S74. Ultimately the bored out 7.4L M120 V12, and the rest of the drive line is going to be pulled out and put into a donor car.

I love that not only do you guys allow us to opportunity to see these cars but that you give more than enough credit where its due to the other parties/individuals involved! I learn a ton of new stuff every time you post a video. Can't wait to visit the Museum when its ready to go! You guys should do an "exclusive" soft-open or something. I'd fly out for that.

I knew of Renntech in the late 80's on the cover of Car and Driver when they tuned an AMG 6.0 Hammer. Car did 200mph. A 4 door sedan!!!

That little throwback from Hartmut was awesome. Looking forward to some sort of PatinaCast channel once the museum is up and running. Sneaky podcasts with PC crew like Julio or industry Goats like Hartman to that Australian panelbeater based in Miami (as an Aussie his story interests the hell out of me haha).
Its unfortunate to see these beautiful cars especially the C140 S74 that has been neglected with no love. Fortunately, that car will be in good hands with you folks. As a current W202 C220 and (2) W212 E350 owner, I am glad I saw the W212 in front of the building that is a very nice modified Renntech car. I was thinking about that car while driving to church in my E350. Thanks for posting and I can't wait to see the restored C140 S74 go back to its living life the S500 C140 coupe in 1994 was about $110,945 if I recall when I saw one new at a Mercedes dealership in San Jose California.

The body and interior are in pretty bad shape, so after discussing with Hartmut we confirmed that taking everything that makes the RennTech S74 special and putting it on a donor car, is ultimately less work than fully restoring that beat up car

The C140 is underrated. Its such a beautiful machine.
Always loved the tuner Benzes. I stopped in there with a buddy in 1994 when I was 20 and Hartmut spent an hour talking to us and showing us around. Great guy.
Every Sunday man I can’t wait to see what the patina boys have in store for us , my buddy’s dad had an 06 sl600 renntech I was 16 when he let me drive it and that thing was a monster, meeting the man himself and seeing the factory must have been one hell of an experience can’t wait to see the museum keep killing it boys!
The 7+ liter V12 engines are not merely "bored out." They are bored and stroked. It's a small bore increase and a much larger stroke increase. It's a stroker motor. Just the small bore increase would increase displacement very slightly, not a full 1.4 liters. This 74 C140 is an amazing car. Props to you guys for saving it. I can't wait to see some of these cars at the museum.
