I think that the Stuts Blackhawk is a Gorgeous and Beautifully Designed Car. I LOVE it's lines and everything about this amazing one of a kind car, designed by Mr. Exner. He had great taste!
I saw one of these Blackhawks (iridescent green paint) parked at the Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto in the 1990's. It was next to my car and I was peeking in the window when the woman who owned it came back and offered me a look inside. Gold-plated handles and knobs and mink carpeting. The leather seats were also trimmed with fur. She said the cars could be ordered with mink, ermine or chinchilla carpeting. . . She opened the trunk and there was a spare tire lying there on the red fox fur-lined trunk! Talk about ostentatious, she claimed it was once owned by Elvis Presley too. . .
I really like those fake sidepipes... considering how much it cost, you'd think they would have installed functional sidepipes. They didn't even bother hiding the functional true duals that run all the way back to the rear bumper.
Hi Stanley, You are absolutely 100% correct. The gentleman giving the Review of this Amazing Car, should have definitely known what the price would have been. Then he said that it would cost $ 2 Million today, NOT true! That man was out of this head, and way off of the Price Range for the car.
Oh Stanley, Even at $27 Thousand in 1971, it is still a far cry from $300 Thousand in 1971. He hasn't got any of his figures right !! Where in the world did he get them from is what I'd like to know?!?!
The original, first run cars are the best of the neoclassical cars.... meaning the least tacky. I love this original design. It’s a shame these handmade beauties get lumped in with the later cheap-looking Excaliburs and Gazelles.
Wow... I just watched "The Dirt" film about the Motley Crue band. This car was in a few scenes and I could not figure out what it was. Took a while, but obviously found the model. Awesome design.
It’s unique but this does remind me of a particular car. In the movie Clint Eastwood’s “Magnum Force”, the pink car driven by the pimp. The same styling cues. Shag fur interior, exhaust pipes exiting from the side etc. Who could forget that. LOL
A lot of commenters hating on this car.. If they were Elvis and had the three hundred thousand to buy each of their buddies one. It would be a different story.
Do they still build these cars please comment back Would love to know thank you for this video If I had the money I would want One of these cars done to the Max Please comment back and let me know thank you
Elvis wasn't the only one to drive a Stutz, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Lucille Ball, Kenny Rogers, Liberace, Mohammad Ali, Billy Joel, Elton John, and Willie Nelson. To those that call it tacky and garish, it was the 70's,everything was gaudy. Excess was the norm back then. It cost a lot of money to look trashy. The difference is that this is masterfully created trash. The quality and craftsmanship built into these cars was far beyond what other companies were building back then, and way beyond today's cars...
Mr. Car Guy about Elvis Presley's Stutz Blackhawk the gentleman that brought the car to Elvis was going to sell it to Frank Sinatra Elvis cutting him a check and told them I'll take it with persuasion yes Elvis but other Blackhawks as well and several other cars including motorcycles also had three aircraft the Stutz Blackhawk was one of Elvis's favorite sandwich a picture taken of him in the car Elvis's favorite car was the Cadillac he bought several Elvis That's the Way It Is

I have a 75 Blackhawk and love it. It's a classic beautiful handmade car that gets parked in front of any Bentley or Rolls when I go out.

Looks like a one of a kind for a one of a kind
I just adore them both
The Elvis Stutz was recently re awakened, started and driven by a Pontiac historian, and placed back at Graceland, there's video of it .

Great !
It cost $27k in 1971, NOT $300k. That would be its approx price TODAY when adjusting for inflation
Hi Stanley,

NOT true! That man was out of this head, and way off of the Price Range for the car.

I wrote "HIS" head.
NOT "THIS" head.
For some strange reason my phone keeps mis-spelling words.
This guy is the BEST!
The resemblance to Elvis was uncanny😄
My uncle James O'Donnell was the original owner of this car he was the CEO of Stutz Motors Company

To many, less is more!

I seen one of these once back in the day and I thought it was a custom 74 Grand Prick . OPPS Grand Prix .
that is exactly what is it its base on the grand prix
A prick of a car
0:46 and 0:59 Hahah well done that was slick
I didn't know what I was waiting for at 46 but I'm glad I was waiting. I almost spit my drink across the room. Thanks for the heads up! 😆😆👉😎
Stutz made a 4 door version of this. I think called the Bearcat.
A pimp would be embarrassed to be seen in this car!
I don’t get why people think these are ugly i think they’re beautiful they also have a Tough muscle car look with all those Bold lines
It’s unique but this does remind me of a particular car. In the movie Clint Eastwood’s “Magnum Force”, the pink car driven by the pimp. The same styling cues. Shag fur interior, exhaust pipes exiting from the side etc. Who could forget that. LOL
In 2005, there was still producing 455cid 4bbl V8s??
A lot of commenters hating on this car..

Expensive but it's still KITSCHY!
I like it because its grill looks like a Bentley and its headlights are like a triumph stag.

I believe manufacturing stopped in 1987
@@legendarymotorcar OK thank you so very much for Getting back to me

Bill Mitchell should design this car
I remember being a kid and asking how much it cost in a store , they said if you need to ask you cannot afford it !!
Elvis bought 5 of them 4:07
Charlie Pride had a white one.
Es trifft nicht jedermanns Geschmack - aber es war schon immer etwas teurer, einen besonderen Geschmack zu haben.
that cars screams where’s my money bitch.
I know a pimps ride when I see one.
I don't think it looks bad! It reminds me of the Aston Martin Lagon- oh...
I'm liking this 'bad taste'

You gotta be nuts to drive a Stutz.
ebob1967 Nothing’s worser than driving a Mercer.
Nah ..You have to be cool and badass....
Things I think are still cool, Shag carpet, Bell bottoms, Led Zeppelin and this car. Does that make me an old fart?
Poor old DB with no idea of the heritage of body design or historic styling - that is one of the most monstrously ugly vehicles ever.
Surprisingly to most people, gold plate is actually one of the cheapest and easiest coatings to apply.
Elvis did not inspire anybody to buy the car state facts about the car and not try to be funny.
I would buy one of those now for $2,000 ... provided it is in a good condition ..lol..
Lol....."NUVO RICH" tacky is totally an understatement in superb poor taste!
What a monstrosity.
@D B and replied to by ass face.💩
A Bentley, as seen through cocaine.
I've seen dog turds that look better.
@D B wow that's original. It is one of the ugliest cars made. And your an expert on dog shit? I believe that. Your turn.
Those cars sucked real gimick
