All our childhood holidays were spent boating at Te Anau and I've done that Milford Sound trip many times. It's always an 'awesome' drive. My mom and I went to New Zealand in 2009 and we were fortunate to get to see some of the same places. What a privilege to get to experience that with your kids.

That was fantastic~!! I’m with you on the slightly terrified flight… my parents took my twin brothers and I up in small planes, doing stunts… made me appreciate the solid ground that much more. Large commercial airplanes aren’t tough, need a good song and some good gum for the take-offs and landings. Thanks for sharing these amazing adventures😀😄✨🕊

LOVED Milford Sound. But we went there in OUR summer, their winter and had to negotiate the long sloping tunnel going down there. Completely covered in very slick black ice. Fortunately, not too much traffic coming the other way. But hairy as hell!!
@@TheSailingFamily That was calm compared to the tunnel drive. And going back UP the hill warn't much better. Crazy as it is, we went back another day and did it all again. Oh, yeah.
I have been told that the South Island is a lot like British Columbia, Canada and now I can see why. If you ever make it over to these parts you can see for yourselves! Other than driving on the other side of the road you will think you are back in NZ. We have a much higher suspension bridge- Capilano. It can handle more than 10 people at a time too! We have rain forests and glaciers. (I almost forgot about the Aussie bush fires) Be sure to stop by the next time around!
Okay, so I am confused ??? - what on earth do the Australian bush fires have to do with New Zealand. Apart from the fact, we get the soot from the fires blown over in the winds across the Tasmanian Ocean.
