I understand how you feel frustrated, but you have to understand that the chain of evidence to the government doesn't start until you show up at their doorstep. Even though you've been at sea for 14 days doesn't mean you haven't met anyone along the way, to the government they only trust what they control, and to enter, it's the price you have to pay to get in. Yes, you are grateful and I don't deny that, and yes, common sense is that you are free from covid, but you have to live with the price of entry. Take a look at the United States, land border ports of entry are closed until September 21 for non-essential travel. I'm a Canadian, we've allowed fully vaccinated US citizens to come visit Canada, the US, however has not reciprocated the gesture, does that make sense?
Don't worry, many of us Australians aren't at all grateful to be subjected to the current totalitarianism control mechanism of covid-19. Voicing your distaste with the currently flawed system wouldn't at all be unreasonable.
@@kojiho604 Then why do so many other countries count time at sea? If we are a risk, why allow someone else to move our "contaminated" boat the next day? Why expose my family to a hotel system that has proven time and again it can spread the disease? No, it still makes zero sense.

We offered to get tested on the day of our departure in Fiji, spend over 14 days at sea (with proof), and test on arrival. And if still required; quarantine on our boat for 14 more days. They wouldn't have it.
@@TheSailingFamilyThat was the quickest turn around answer of any vloggers, thanks. I figured you tried to appeal to their common sense and that is why I ended with my last line. It's a weird world right now, common sense isn't so common, it's a fluid situation, scientists/doctors are doing their best to keep up with the changing environment. The politicians won't make everyone happy, and some are doing irreparable damage to their communities. Your videos are a nice escape, great storytelling and enjoy seeing the places you are sailing to. My wife and I don't have kids, but can appreciate the way you parent, all of the attention and activities you do in your videos, that's the kind of upbringing we had as well, my parents were great. You are a great example of good parenting. I can only imagine how difficult it would be to have to leave your boat within a couple of hours and be carried off to a hotel and city/country you are unfamiliar with. It's probably easier for people to be Monday morning quarterbacks and suggest all of the things you should have done, or the way you should be... but none of us were there, so we really shouldn't judge you. I look forward to the upcoming adventures and new locations, especially the Whitsundays islands, or wherever else you go around Australia. We can't hardly wait until it's safe again, so we can continue our own travels and adventures, but until then, we are left living vicariously through you and the other sailing UA-cam channels. We are fortunate to live in Vancouver, BC with so many outdoor activities at our fingertips.
Thanks Sam, that’s a kind comment. We try our best but don’t always win the “best parents award”. We probably don’t film those episodes. And really it’s Elizabeth who is the super Mom with all the activities. I packed a camera. 😜 Thanks for watching and hope to see you out there. ~Seth
Bummer. You had Keith as a neighbor. I was surprised AUS let them back in. Smart move on the bouncy park vs water park. Looks like it would have been a great time. Very nice to see that you keep politics to a minimum. Also being appreciative of AUS and it’s hospitality durning such chaotic times for AUS without pulling out the drama card as others have done in the past. Good for you for being the better family about those matters. 👍
A little tip next time your going to antifoul the boat is to mix 25 to 1 chilli powder to antifoul an you wont have to worry about any growth growing on the hull for years
Glad I gave the channel another try. Well done on the quarantine narrative. Also agree with dhamma58 - good to know Catamaran Impi are both fine and safe :)
Have a question. Did you know Sailing Zatara before you became Sailors? Was wondering if you both knew each other and you two had the same dreams. Sending all my love and prayers for a safe adventure. Love watching the boys.❤️❤️

Consider passivating your stainless steel. It will prevent stainless from bleeding rust. We used Citri-Surf. It's a mild acid made from orange rinds. It's non-toxic and marina safe.
Other friends of mine went through this exact thing. The upshot is they did not have to pay for their accommodations. And the homeland security or whatever it is in aussie provided them with what ever they needed. It happened during the time they started using a more reliable test so miraculously they didn't need to stay locked up the whole time either. That and the head guy creating a bit of noise with some of the authorities helped their case a little bit. And it was one of the many instances that pushed aussie to adopt different policies.
I'm curious to hear when your friends entered? There is an Australian boat sailing for 30 days that just arrived from French Polynesia into Cairns and are being made to do 14 days of Hotel Quarantine. We feel bad for them...
@@TheSailingFamily I do not know when it was exactly. I will find out. I am thinking it is possible the different provinces may have slightly different policies. But now that I am thinking about it more, its highly probable he had some friends who were in positions to fast track them.
That would help. But you are right, each state sets it's own rules. We were actually "lucky" that Queensland treated us the way it did. New South Wales wouldn't even let us in despite Australian Immigration giving us the green light and approved our VISAs! 😳
In the first few months after mandatory quarantine was introduced in 2020 there was no charge. A fee was then introduced due to the mounting cost and escalating numbers of Aussies coming back from overseas.
@@TheSailingFamily That is a great way to see it. And in spite of the couple inconveniences, it is infinitely better than gambling on a high order hurricane i would bet.
In our opinion, New Zealand did this best. They had a legitimate "Q-Dock" that had no access to land and acts as a sort of waiting zone for the authorities to formally check you in. They were quick, helpful and kind. Sadly it's not always this easy and often involves bribes or imaginary fees (the D.R. was the worst). ~Seth
Believe it or not, it was a culture shock for us too, seeing Brisbane after all the episodes in Fiji. Great job! It will be awesome to see this part of Australia. Are you guys going to end up sailing with Doug and Robin around this part of Eastern Australia? Thinking about that possibility, I went back to check out the clinic you two did with Brent (Multihull Central) and I won't be able to stop in the middle - I'll have to watch it all again. Cheers!
I wish, but they are not full time cruisers yet. Hopefully in the future! (Although I have a feeling their ultra-light 4X will be faster than us)? ~Seth

Welcome to the Gold Coast! I know videos are not posted in real time but we wil be looking out for your boat. We live here and spend as much time as possible on our little 8 metre sailboat sailing the Broadwater. So if you see "Good Vibrations" give us a wave.
Thank you! Will do!
God bless you all SO So So very much!
~Seth
An interesting video, thanks.

Terrific episode!
Thank you.
Great vid all around. Thanks
a "walrus"; I almost spit my water all over my monitors!! LOL!!
Haha. That’s old school! 😜 ~S
Great Video... Best one yet... Keep up the great videos!
More to come!
I’m so embarrassed by my countries procedures. Completely nonsensical.
Awesome, awesome freedom to explore Australia!
17:50 Don't Nixon your Noxon product, Keith.
I wonder if they also pay your damages if something happens to your boat which is in your case also your house??
beautiful family
Keith was a great neighbor. We enjoy chatting together. Our differences in Politics helps keep it interesting. ~Seth
The Lightening - WOW - and the rain - it reminds me of Florida
Wet n Wild Cool water park 😎
❤❤❤
Nice stuff Donna and Craig!
The best!
BRAVO !! your camera skills have improved greatly since the last episode I watched...
Thank you! We're trying... ~S
Thanks for sharing another great video 👏👏👍⛵️⛵️😊
Have a question. Did you know Sailing Zatara before you became Sailors? Was wondering if you both knew each other and you two had the same dreams. Sending all my love and prayers for a safe adventure. Love watching the boys.❤️❤️
We met in New Zealand. Kieth saw our American flag, or maybe our kids, and came over to say hi. Nice guy! Very social.
🇵🇱🙋⛵🏝️👍
You definitely deserve more, much more subscribers. And please do never call your Videos a show BCS it is Not, Just real Cruiser Life, so far. Keep it in coming.
Thank you! Will do!
So how’s Australian gov treatment today
Really enjoy your videos they always make my days better
Consider passivating your stainless steel. It will prevent stainless from bleeding rust. We used Citri-Surf. It's a mild acid made from orange rinds. It's non-toxic and marina safe.
I’ll check it out! ~Seth
Love the new intro clip!!!
That was fun, right? The boys were demanding their own independent scenes. Had to update it! ~Seth
Great video.. Thanks for sharing!
I admire your positive attitude. It's like: Thank you, doctor, I really appreciate you pulling that tooth without using novocaine.
If you could change one thing about sailing to new ports, making it better or easier for all. What could be added or changed ?
In our opinion, New Zealand did this best. They had a legitimate "Q-Dock" that had no access to land and acts as a sort of waiting zone for the authorities to formally check you in. They were quick, helpful and kind. Sadly it's not always this easy and often involves bribes or imaginary fees (the D.R. was the worst). ~Seth
Love the new intro
Thanks! The boys were demanding their own scenes. :)
Wow , spectacular drone shots.
Great episode. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it! ~S
~Seth
@@TheSailingFamily That's exactly what I'd like to see, you guys racing each other like you did with Zatara, had to watch the entire clinic again with you and Doug, really good stuff! Happy sailing!
It was a nice surprise to see Archer at anchor last week while I was in the same beautiful area. Have fun exploring the area 😊
Next time come say hello! :)
