    I'm a naturopath (BHSc) and these are the types of things we study and specialise in. Many things that he's saying are true, but while it may seem very impressive to people who haven't studied these topics and treated clients, what he's saying is too simplistic. It's very important to correct deficiencies, but nutritional supplements are not magic bullets. He's applying the pharmaceutical model to nutrients. It's not how it works. Genetic testing, especially with new companies that are fairly unregulated and use quite new technology, have a lot of false positives and some false negatives. Also 2 people can have the same type and level of MTHFR mutation and one has related health issues and the other never does. We are not simple machines where we can identify a mutation, deficiency, break in methylation process etc, add nutritional supplements and then our health is optimal. He mentioned that folic acid is synthetic, well methyl folate can be too, and supplement companies are not regulated enough. It can get dangerous when, for example, pregnant women or people trying to conceive could watch this podcast and gather that methyl folate is always better than folic acid, so they switch. Then we see an increase in neural tube defects, because there is no guarantee that the methyl folate in that product is what it's implying it is, so in that way, folic acid can be a lot more reliable because it's been used for so long and isn't a newer product. Also you cannot detach body from mind, so you can add all the building blocks you like, but if someone has built neural pathways around their life experiences and trauma, and/or has damaged receptors, this magic bullet theory will not work for many people with depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, ADHD, ASD, personality disorders etc. But it is a great place to start, to remove burdens (alcohol, processed foods, stressors etc) and provide your body with the building blocks it needs, but I wouldn't want people to see this, go and buy 5HTP, SAMe, methyl folate etc online to treat their mental health or medical conditions, because that's absolutely what people do. These things are not magic bullets and they can cause harm. Many supplements interact with medications.

      Good points. I have relentless Fibromyalgia pain for 12 years. Im trying so hard to address my issues. Im also a weightloss surgery patient. Recently it seems I got B12 anemic because other things looked normal but i couldnt stay awake the whole day. I got sublingual B12 and started taking Folic acid (i read how they can work together to process proteins correctly and may not be getting the process right gastricly)). I have wondered for a long time if I the MTHFR mutation and am not detoxing right or deficient in or not uptaking something properly. I am wondering if I SHOULD get the methyl folate. Im not pregnant or trying to be.

      No one can diagnose or create a management plan over a UA-cam comment. If they do, run! When it comes to mental health issues such as trauma, depression, it takes so many sessions with a therapist to get to the bottom of the root cause of it, there’s no one answer for everyone. Some patients WILL need SSRIs because they would be so low that an immediate intervention is needed. Autoimmune: that’s a massive topic, what exactly? It can vary between mild eczema to life threatening Crohn’s disease.

    I practice so many of these things. I literally felt myself age backwards when I added several more. I am almost 60, no one would ever guess. I stopped telling people my age because it starts an entire conversation,I'm frankly tired of having. However, l eat very little processed food, sleep as much as I need, exercise outside and I relax. Nothing is ever as bad as our minds think. It is also important to love yourself and be grateful for all the good things you have right now. Really, really try to learn something new. I learned a third language in the last year.

      I look 20 years younger that I looked 10 years ago. I actually reversed aging. I'm not sure what part of my routines is the major one that reversed aging. I am doing all the things stated here plus swimming in the ocean and yoga. The tips on avoiding jet lag are great. I do walk every hour, because I just don't know how comfortable I will be squatting. Working on the mind set and beliefs is huge. Working on behavior that is inherited is also huge. Thanks for this video. It's amazing.

    I recently had the honor of meeting Gary and he is on fire. He unselfishly spoke to me answered my question about myself(stress and my thyroid and weight) about my child conditions(autism) about my husband's conditions (inflammatory issues) with a crowd of people around him after I'd already seen him speak to a crowd of people from around the world. he loves to give out this information he wants to save people's lives. He is an amazing man. he greatly helped to changed my life and I'm on Fire to change others lives ❤

      Could you share what he said about stress and thyroid and weight? I’ve got HPA axis dysfunction… he mentioned a protocol in another video, that it worked for 86% of participants. Wondering if adrenal issue people were the 14% it didn’t work for.

    Strange. Old Indian Hindu rituals are: 1. walk primarily barefoot on ground 2. get up early and do Suryanamaskar ( sun salutation) on the first rays of Sun. 3. Do pranayama (breathing exercise) ever day 4. Do yoga (yoga asana) everyday 5. Do dhyanam (meditation) everyday.

    I spent 1 hour and 30 minutes to watch and listen this podcast until the end and things I learned from this podcast:
    1. Walked bare foot to expose the earth to contact with nature
    2. Exposed to the first sunlight 45 minutes every day
    3. Take deep breath 30 times to increase oxygen in the body as oxygen is equal energy
    4. Take cold water 3-6 minutes after workout every day to get deep sleep, anger control and muscle repair quickly

      -Don't be anemic.
      -living close to equator is better than living close to poles. Closer to pole will decrease your life span and health.
      -Don't eat what your great grandma cannot recognize.
      -Energy is nothing but amount of oxygen is blood. More oxygen in blood = more energy.
      -Do not run behind comfort. Comfort accelerates aging in every form.
      -Eat more fat & protein, and less carb. Because carb takes away more energy from body to digest it.
      -presence of oxygen is absence of disease.
      -sitting is new smoking. So, keep body moving, do not sit at once for hours.
      most 50+ age Americans are taking 5+ medications (synthetic & pharmaceuticals), if they start doing what here prescribed, health condition will dramatically improve.

    I went to a naturopath, a doctor and psychologist for crippling anxiety. No one could help. Finally I requested a full panel of blood. I registered as mildly anemic in my blood tests but was reassured by the doctor that it didn't affect my "mental health". Because my red blood cells couldn't function properly to carry oxygen throughout my body, my nervous system and brain were not getting adaquate oxygen. My body couldn't cope with even a normal amount of stress. Taking iron literally changed my life within days. No more panic attacks and anxiety for 10+ years now. I was just missing that one element like he says.

      Good for you. I'm not anemic. I don't have any problems with iron. Yet I have terrible anxiety. It's not one and the same answer to the same problem. I hope people won't read your comment and start taking iron. It can be downright poisonous if they do it wrong.

      Thanks for this and all comments. I use only old cast-iron pans for cooking (only stove-top or outside on a cast-iron stove) which gives just enough of a trace of iron in the food. Love the old ways for just about anything.

    I work in a pharmacy, a costumer in her 50’ came and picked up her first ever cholesterol med. She was so excited and asked a lot of questions…She was so compliant and wanted to do the right thing for her health by starting the med “ right away”. I wanted to cry …I though to myself: another mouse caught in the trap. Just wait next year you’ll be on a blood pressure med then 5 yrs from now you’ll be our regular costumer.

    I've been eating a ketogenic diet since 2018, and everything he says is 1000%!! I''ve never been healthier, happier and more fit. It even led me to doing Crossfit at least 5 days a week and now becoming a CrossFit trainer at 44 years old!! I was 206 lbs @ 5'3", lifetime weekend drunk, smoked a pack of smokes a day, ptsd, depression, addictions to food and sugar...i was a mess. I had good reason but still. I got down to 128lbs and now back up to 145lbs of muscle! Lol I love myself and know what that actually means, for the first time in my life. I wish for all of humanity to feel this good, it's how we are meant to be. Love to all.

      Unfortunately I had seizures after 6 months of Keto. I started off great but I'm not sure what happened. I'm now more paleo. I guess everyone is different.

    Yes I have depression, anxiety and gut issues. Been diagnosed with IBS. This guy is the best at what he does.

      A lot of it is gut, and our modern diet (stay away from most seed oils) / sedentary lifestyles. It all affects hormonal balance, and what I'd term hormonal motility and hormonal transfer.

    If you are surrounded by Narcissists, Psychopaths or Sociopaths, you are expecting a real and active threat. What your brain is experiencing is NOT imaginary, but real threat. Sometimes, health care professionals give you anxiety medicine regardless. They pathologize you and keep recommending pills when in reality it's not you causing the problem. It's important to make that distinction and know whether the trigger is internal or external.

      I was friends with a girl recently for 9 months. She had very toxic behaviors. Wanted to talk to me, I agreed. She hid the fact she talked to other guys. Addicted to social media. Was an ex-codeine addict. She complained about depression, her poor mental health, was very angry, played the victim, complained about family problems. Wouldn’t sleep at night, go to bed at 8 AM.
      My anxiety was off the rails, my blood pressure was 150/100. 180/110 at work when I had a massive panic attack.
      I left that situation and my body slowly returned to normal.
      Within 2 short months, my life became a living hell.

    I’m in UK. I did DNA testing with a company called Lifecode GX who I heard about on Liz Earle’s podcast. I did something called Nutrient Core which is a broad ranging report then based on those results it was recommended that I did the Methylation report as I have a variant on the MTHFR gene ( as it seems nearly half the population does) which means I don’t convert folate to methyl folate very well. I had advice from a nutritionist about diet & supplements. It was very enlightening. I try to turn my shower to cold for the last minute, I find singing helps & I also do a bit of grounding. If it’s too cold or wet outside I have a grounding mat for indoor use. I’ve massively changed my diet over the last 2 years & do time restricted eating. I’m mid 60’s & not on any meds but I do have quite a lot of joint pain which I use red light therapy to help & take turmeric. Don’t know how long I’m going to live though but I think quality is more important than quantity!

      @@peacefreedom4930 used to eat a lot of refined carbs but rarely touch them now. I routinely use extra virgin olive oil but have never tried avocado oil. Again I used to use sunflower oil as we were told that was a healthy option but I don’t use any seed oils now.

      Since you live in UK you are most likely D3 vitamin deficient, try supplementing k2 and d3 in higher dosage

    I totally agree with Gary. In March 2020 I caught COVID and then two and a half years on Long Covid. There was no help for me with the doctor, and later the Post Covid Assessment Service. Their approach was simply to check in with me from time to time. It's the same for pretty much all chronic illness, including ME, CFS and others. One day I decided that I couldn't go on like this and embarked on a journey to hack my body better. I began fasting and eating only clean food. Fruit, Vegetable and Meat / Fish only. I also excluded common allergens such as gluten. Slowly I started to get better.

They are providing some good stuff by email but there’s confusion between the different types of long covid. I will credit the cardio physio I received, that was brill - but I couldn’t have done it before I healed myself.

    You always say you're open to who would we like to see interviewed next and I could never really think of anyone to recomment sir. I was watching for something legitimate to try and turn around my health and this intense guy keeps popping up here and there. Why has no one brought this guy Gary Brecka on, he's a radical approach to treating common diseases that most do not have success with but you brought him on the show. Well done sir. Nice one.

    Indeed we are what we eat, this podcast has reminded what my grandma always tells us, that we have two facets, The Primal and The Secondary. The primal is what keeps us alive and is kept in good shape by good food, manual workout and good relationships. The secondary facet is the luxury side, in life we should make sure the Primal side is taken care of first, it's our lifeline. I love that old woman, she is a gem, she clocked 97yrs on February and is a Covid survivor💪🏽

      My Grandma told me once while eating twinkies,she took it away and gave me an apple..I said it's only a snack,she looked me dead in the eyes and told me,you either pay for it now or in the end,consider it an investment.     Brilliant. I refused many meds and treatments over the years. I listened to my own body and progressive Drs over the years and have done better than many others with the same illnesses. I have lived with IBD for 33 years and have not had surgery. I have stayed away from processed foods, and looked at how differently I responded to food combinations when I was well and when ill. This has been a big help for me

    I came from farmers family and I always questioned about processed food in America.
    It is clear that we are not consuming the
    needed nutrients and getting sick.
    We are personally responsible for what we eat,
    but food industries make it so difficult.

    wow! Inspirational is an understatement! Ive spent my life pursuing fitness and health but this interview showed me how unaware I was of so much that i could be doing differently or better.     My late husband died because of one deficiency. Potassium. He was a heavy sweater, stressed his ❤ by becoming dehydrated on a hot day, working outside. He had a history of high blood pressure and had Type 2 Diabetes. He went without water until 2pm, and couldn’t recover bc the ❤ needs potassium along with his replenished electrolytes and water, and it couldn’t function without it. Over 50? That ALONE puts you at risk on hot days. Summer is coming. Don’t ignore it if your elbow hurts. That’s „ arm pain.“

      Diabetes is probably the number one problem. That's the reason that almost all the people who died of covid-19 were diabetic or pre-diabetic. The blood clots from, Covid or from the vaccine affected people with damaged vascular systems which is predominantly, diabetic and prediabetic. Sure. The potassium might have been a problem but his blood flow being a diabetic was severely damaged. Stop eating sugar early in your life

      I too am sorry for your loss. I struggle to actually drink water. I realise I cannot do without it. It just seems to not have any root in anything but pure laziness. I too sweat heavily in the night and have hypertension. 😮 I do eat plenty of 🍌 though. Is this enough?

      Don't get too excited, I have tried some of these amino acids and one from the gp for pyroluria but did not work, I think I did not give it long enough, but these things often sound fantastic and they don't do anything, I am recovering alcoholic, long time, 30 years, I have heard all this stuff before, but go to a professional, it might work, I did not do it right admittedly, I am worried too that he is collecting genetic information for big brother, I am pretty suspicious, you have to be, often these people are working for some big company for some ulterior motive, you just never know! Oh yes, none of these formulations come cheap, it's all very expensive!

    I’ve been studying nutrition and weight control now for fifteen years. When I hear a podcast or read a new book I tend to feel ‘yes I know that’, or ‘new information I need to evaluate that.’ I’ve written 7 books on this area, all of which I thought needed a little revision in the light of new information. This is the first presentation where I think I need to take notes and rethink my whole position. Brilliant!

      I’ve lost faith in Drs, so it’s timely in that way. I guess I don’t trust any experts yet. Once burned (by medical system) twice shy.
      And what’s all the talk of genes, does this have something to do with the “safe and effective”. It’s all too much,too soon.

      The funniest part is @3:50 he's recanting of stuff that is bad due to deficiencies, starting with "brain fog", then going on to list "brain fog" twice right before listing "poor short term recall". Photographic memory, huh? He seems to be missing some nutrients himself. :D

      @@lynthbeing able to photographically recall info he read is not the same as being able to recall what words he just spoke. He admitted that being clinically photographic doesn’t even mean he’s more intelligent (there are many forms of intelligence of course). I noticed that he repeated the phrase “brain fog” in that long list of symptoms as well. That would definitely indicate that brain fog is one of the things he’s most concerned with, and that he’s not a perfect oral communicator. Of course he never said he was. He even said he didn’t understand some of the things he’s read and can recall.

    In my top 3 discussions ever, possibly even the best. I thought I knew a lot, but this shows you never stop learning. Gary is incredible. Can you imagine if the health care systems and government supported and preached this. Wow. If they has invested the same money into covid in Gene testing and subsequent health care. This makes me sad, and excited at the same time.

      I find it incredible that a degree in mortality science is available to study, but is applied to insurance and not health promotion.
      It seems criminal that this info is collected and available, but not used to improve health outcomes and lives.

    I've selectively shared this video with more than a dozen people. This interview has brought together my individual research on grounding (earthing), the need for light (vitamin D3) and breathing. I spent 30 years in healthcare and have come to the realization that the health system has lost its way. In reality, its not a health system at all but a sick system. Sickness underpins the business model of selling more drugs, therapies and services. Curing disease would threaten the very existence of the health system as we know it. It's not in the interest of the healthcare industry to cure the sick, with very few exceptions.
    Thank you for a very informative and reassuring assessment of how to best go about looking after your own health!

    When he talked about the conveyor belt, I got a thought that in order to keep the conveyor belt moving along, fasting would be good. It would stop an intake a food and allow the body to rest from eating, but to also complete the digestion of the food that is already in the body😊

      @@holistically_lisa1033 You can take a test ordered by a functional medicine nutritionist that will check all your nutrients & you can get some of the tests from your primary doctor, ask for B12, MMA & Homycystein levels; you need all three to know what's truly going on. The MHTFR gene doesn't necessarily cause issues for everyone it's not a one fits all approach.

    One of the most informative podcasts I have ever listened to. Gary is an incredibly intelligent man who has passion and committment to human well being. I life in Canada and as you know we 4 seasons and during the winters months it is impossible to walk bare foot. I rarely wear shoes in the summer months, however, it is far too cold and way too much snow. Suggestions? Thanky ou for sharing your knowledge.

    The sad thing is, for most of us, we are lucky to get a face-to-face appointment lasting more than 5 minutes with a g.p., and even then they will almost always prescribe some ghastly drug for us to start taking. I would take a bet that as good as this video is, no one on here is likely to ever get a chance to meet someone like Gary, who will treat us in the ways he is describing here to help us optimise our health. So we either take the prescription ( and all its side effects) from our good doctor, or we try and self-medicate with products we read about online that at best are probably no better than snake oil pills.

      You can easily start with the few free things he recommended. I can speak from experience that just those things alone can make a profound difference in ones health. I went from zero energy to boundless energy, from angry and resentful to overfilled with joy and gratitude. Clearly this difference is also internally, better mental health is better physical health. My lifestyle had changed and therefor so did I, but it was only after watching this video that I have an understanding as to how and why. It was a happy "accident."

    Very logical. I believe he is very close to discovering a new approach of treatment and preventing physical and mental suffering of the humankind. I always stated that there is direct correlation between gastrointestinal health, microbiome and anxiety and chronic inflammation. Never thought about motility aspect of it. Very smart thinking.
    He also throws a lot of very intelligent ideas in his interview. Must watch.

    Wow, stumbled upon ur channel & this episode. Absolutely amazing. As someone who isn’t a researcher per se, but will search & search for answers to ailments, I have discovered some of the things he is talking about. I just haven’t been able to put the pieces together & listening to Gary speak is doing just that! I’m so happy to have found this channel. I love to learn & solve problems & help myself & those around me by sharing knowledge & info. Knowledge is power! It’s very empowering to know that we do have the ability to make changes necessary to improve health.

    I have rearranged my morning schedule to do the things this wonderful man gifted us I have heard and practiced connecting to the earth before, but his adding all the natural free things that would upgrade our health ..I have sent this link to about 14 people,my daughter has sent it to 7 ...we are looking at this multiple times....Thank you Thank you Steven and nobody ask questions like you...this morning at 6;30 right before sunrise I was doing some push, Upa-Yogi ,and pulling weeds. For a hour while bare feet and doing Brest work...I FELT WONDERFUL.

    I've been listening to this all day. It's one of the best episodes so far. I was listening when it was taken down. I started again when it was posted again and I'm still listening. I keep rewinding and starting again. I'll have it memorised before I'm through.     This is the first time I’ve watched your podcast and OMG it was fascinating! Gary Brecka’s approach to health is much more in tune with nature and I’m a big fan of grounding. The health of our gut and the level of inflammation in the body is definitely something which should be taught in schools. We need to become aware of the critical path to health so we can enjoy and thrive in life. Education and awareness is key. Thankyou 🙏 I am now subscribing and I will explore Gary Brecka’s work further too. 😄

    Love this interview. Gary Brecka is awesome. My partner died 10 months ago. I had such a loss of oxytocin, seronin, and dopamines that I plunged into depression and anxiety. My anxiety was all about, how do I get out of this when I know it's going to get worse? I knew I had to accept that it was going to get worse. It was like being on a plane that was crashing, but I was a passenger and unable to get off - trapped! What helped? Well, chatting with his friends, but because of work commitments, I wasn't able to do this very often. And time. I think that time helped because my body started making its own serotonins and happy hormones, etc, whereas it was automatic when I was with him, or thinking about him. I miss him.

      Look into Neurofeedback therapy for your grief love. UA-cam it and how it works - it helped me so much when I lost my partner of 10 years, 5 years ago… Neurofeedback saved my life. I haven’t been depressed or anxious since and now I watch videos like these to properly supplement 💖 good lucky and I’m sorry for your loss!

    Absolutely impressive! I’ve ran integrative medical clinics, studied and researched disease reversal methods, set up doctor panels and conferences, reversed both my son’s and my diseases and have learned many of these important health protocols and more. This is a great reminder to heal our bodies from within by locating which genetic mutations to work with biologically as well as working with the power of the mind to create positive and lasting outcomes.
    I will be honing in and refocusing on my own health goals based on his recommendations.
    I would add to this the importance of thoroughly detoxing the body of heavy metals, chemicals and neurotoxins as well as highly oxygenating the body to get rid of any bad bugs growing within. Once these are addresses and only when they are addressed can the human body communicate to become efficient. In other words, as long as your tank is gunked up there will be interference and your body will not preform no matter what you put in it.
    Lastly, I would use cell communicators to help where the body is sluggish and then stem cells for regeneration if needed.
    I look forward to learning so much more from Gary.

    So beautiful his grip of set of ideas in concealing helping people out of his activity ❤👏🏼 it already made me want to take a genetic test since (I have several mental disorders) some years ago a nutritionist told me to take them and I neglected for the expenses.
