Hope this video could help those wondering or just those curious how we live to give a base idea on our type of lifestyle in the Philippines Province!🇵🇭 Let me know if there's any similar topic you'd like us to talk about! ♥️
Hi Susie, I live in Cebu and the itemized amount in the cost of living breakdown you provided are on point. In my case, my electricity is lower because I only live alone in a two bedroom home and I also go to work 5 days a week so I only spend less than PhP 2K for electricity. The grocery spend you mention is also true. Living on my own, I spend more than 1K weekly for groceries so that makes 2.5K weekly if you are a couple.
@@itsmeferny Thank you for sharing your point of view also! I'm sometimes surprised to see how expensive some people claim local life to be. Of course it all depends on the location and lifestyle like mentioned but it's good to see some relatable numbers haha
Please please talk about buying organic produce , where, how much? Can we buy directly from private farmers? I want to be in Buguio and for my healing need introspective
Yup! Living frugal w/ intuition & reliable partner, you can survive everywhere. Specialy in Philippines where empathy, humility, & respect is always a virtue of every filipinos 🇺🇸❤🇵🇭🧡🙏
Living in like the Philippines is like the best thing to do. Like it’s not even a matter of like fact that it’s cheaper like and also like more fun. I like it.
You are a good and articulate vlogger. And you know what are you saying about the PH, although you have been living here for 4 yrs cuz few foreign vloggers do not know how’s an ordinary Filipino living here. 👍 keep it up
Very interesting. Thank you so much for sharing it. Please make videos about your house or your apartment hunting. We love your channel ❤️ Greetings from Switzerland, Ariel & Susanne
There are many different lifestyle modes in the Philippines, from the simple life in the province/ beach to the posh life in BGC/Manila. The key is creating a mix that fits your comfort and budget. Your lifestyle choices as a couple are real smart and practical - and I admire how you guys can travel to popular tourist destination without breaking the bank :).
Lenten season in the Phil ...please make content about the traditional "pasyon"..."penitensya"...happening this March...ask your husband about this tradisyon....i may add also about "senakulo"..hope you have time for these🙏
Given the fact that the minimum wage in the Philippines is around 186 USD your calculations are spot on and realist. I appreciate your honesty. Good video by the way.
Susie, Your comments and budget calculations are more in line with Ginno from Dazel TV. Your budget is also comparable to that of Vagabond Awake, Hobo Adventure & 8 Miles from Home UA-cam channels. I like your video because it’s in the spirit of simplicity and minimalism without deprivation. I made this comment in response to other videos, but I’ll say it again here. They key to a successful transition as an expat in the Philippines seems to be whether or not the expat can find a like minded partner before or after moving to the Philippines. The expat’ s complete experience in the Philippines will be colored by his/her love relationships just as with anywhere else. This is especially true for the budget decisions the expat will make once in the Philippines (or any other country). It seems both you and your husband are committed to sharing a peaceful and simple province life in a small but fulfilling community. Your choices are a model I would choose to follow if I ever decided to leave the west.
It's true,. Even you're in a province, prices of all goods are same with manila., "Probinsyiano" just tend to stay couz the government prioritize increase in metro manila..
I think your estimate is pretty good for a foreigner to get an idea of how much it costs to live a simple provincial life. BTW, I hope that you reach 100k soon. Keep it up. You are doing great.
Your so lucky Sussie.Philippines is a beautiful and can spwak english, and very friendly ppl. Im going back there soonMy country is the best country to retire. Its in my blood.I am filipina and love my beautiful mother land.No comparison in another country.Ppl,are helpful.🇵🇭♥️🇵🇭♥️🇵🇭
I always search for groups for the exact city / province I'm interested in! There's so many out there it's better to find the specific groups for the area you're interested in. For example the group "Sorsogon city rentals" is for the city of Sorsogon only. You can find ones for the whole region "Bicol Apartment Rentals" also. Just an example! :)
This 30K budget is for 2 people - if I understand you correctly ( ? ) = you and your husband ? --- If a single old man by himself cooked very little and ate out cheaply most of the time - lived frugal and paid 5K rent + 5K elect for AC most of the time - ( ? ) - would about $750 -- $900 / mo. be enough most months ? 🤔 Trace Martires '''area''' has many affordable rentals under $100/mo. and about everything needed for daily living. Close enough for easy day trips to Manila or the beach or the airport !?! Lipa City too ? > Thank you for sharing the real story of what is - "needed" - over there - w/o the un-needed - "wants" !!! 🤗 ❤👍🙏👏
I'm Filipina born in the Philippines but grew up in the US and I really want to move my family to the Philippines. I'm thinking of Alabang but I don't know what websites to go to to find places to rent. Could you recommend some websites please.
Yes! Honestly salaries back in my home country are higher but the cost of living is higher, too! But the opportunities there living a more simple, more affordable life is limited.
You can spend less if you will just road tripping in central and northern Luzon. There are many tourist attractions there that are just need to be explored
@@SusieinthePhilippines Hey fellow Hungarian. So what kind of Visa can i get when i am married to a Filipina?I cant search information on Hungarian sites because i cant speak Hungarian.I speak only German and English but i am an Hungarian Citizen
Now, who said it was cheap living in the Philippines! Hahahahaha Cost of living really depends on where you are located in the Philippines. It is NOT CHEAP to live in the Philippines. Travels in the Philippines are so expensive as well. Way more on travels to tourist's areas. Salary as well is too low here compared to the total cost of expenses and bills. That is why most of us Filipinos, given the opportunity, do take 2 jobs and work for 16 hours a day just to survive and live.
The target audience is Foreigners, Filipinos know what it costs to live in the Province. 30k per month is a lot for most province people, many Foreigners have pensions 100k+/month so for us this is quite cheap compared to our countries where we struggle on our pensions due to everything costing way more there. Where I live in Melbourne rent alone for a small place can often cost 80-100k PHP/Month before we even start paying actual loving costs and that is if you can even find somewhere to rent

Yay on the way!!
30k per month for 2 sounds good particularly since that includes an actual house and not bedspace plus private transpo consumables!
I agree I watched a few other videos and it's actually a similar number for those living a similar life like us 😊
Thank you for promoting our country. My German Girlfriend is still sceptical, but thanks to your wonderful channel she can imagine. ❤

Very interesting and informative video thank you! Province life is definitely simpler & less expensive if you live like the locals.
A lot of content creators don't usually show much info about this. Thanks for sharing a more realistic view when living in the Philippines.
