i think Low volume cymbals are the way to go. They sound like cymbals with decay and everything. And the amount of time it takes to put the mutes on...is the same as switching cymbals AND they sound so much better. Like cymbals only low volume!! I use LV cymbals n the Black hole mesh mutes SO good. Tip: Chang low volume cymbals on Alibaba... you're welcome

Yep, no doubt low volume cymbals would be a more honest sound! And to be honest, they’d match the volume of the rest of the pads here well, I’m sure.
The time it takes to put the Cymbomutes on isn’t a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but what I like about them is that I can use existing cymbal setups... as I say though, no doubt low volume cymbals would be a better option sonically, it’s mainly the added expense of having a whole extra set of practice cymbals that puts me off!
      Really appreciate the feedback!

I'll definitely be getting those cymbal mutes. They seem to be way better than my Vic Firth ones.

Great! Yes, I way prefer these to the kind that hang a big rubber pad over the cymbal... I hope they serve you well! 👊

Why did you decide to not use Rtoms black holes for the snare?
I'm looking for an alternative for remo silent strokes as imo they feel like cheating and everytime i get back to a real drumkit I realise that may doubles aren't as solid as I thought. But the Prologix Alln1 is quite expensive, so I'm thinking about getting the rtoms...

Hi there! For whatever reason, I just can't get on with the feel/sound of the Black Hole pads on a snare drum. Love them on toms, but having tried different tunings on different drums, it just doesn't feel quite right to me on the snare. That said, it may simply be that I'm so used to using a traditional practice pad, that having that front and centre on the snare drum just feels more natural to me! Perhaps, depending on the sizes of your toms, if you were to buy a 14" for a floor tom, you could try it on a snare too and see if you like it before buying a second one?
I'd definitely say the Prologix pad ranges are worth the cost for their quality, and I especially like how the All-n-one pad has a cutout on the underside to fit a 14" snare drum without bouncing around like some other pads do. Plus, it can of course be used away from the kit just as a nice, comfortable pad. Definitely worth the money in my opinion!

Any idea how the RTOM Black holes compare to the TAMA Soft Sound Ring mutes for the toms?
