Don't worry, there's more Turmoil coming at you soon: 1. A re-edited supercut of the first Turmoil series, a much better edited and paced version of the original series, perfect for binging! 2. A completely new series doing a SUPER EXPERT run in The Heat Is On DLC. I've never even done regular expert in The Heat Is On. What does super expert mean? Tune in next week to find out.
the drill deep research minigame thing is definitely tedious, which is unfortunate because I feel like the concept of rewarding the player for how good you are at making efficient pipes is interesting, but this particular implementation of that concept is not inspiring, especially since the duration of the minigame ends up being very very long for how monotonus it is.
4:45 danm that must have been some TASTY fucking soil for the douser to "probe" the same patch of dirt for over a minute straight and finger dip into that mud 15 times for nothing and then ditching
I do like the hot air balloon minigame, but not enough to tell you not to skip it if you don't want to do it. Also I really liked the "that price came out of nowhere" in the last year, after i had been watching it climb for like a whole minute of the video while you were oblivious, I thought that was funny as hell
He could just pop a speedup or a sort of timelapse really. It's pretty balanced with that I'd say. If he wanted it to be perfect then maybe commentate and slow down on those tenser parts of low cash, water or hitting hard rock.
@@dumbleking5172 I agree, I think that could improve the watching experience. Though that misses the point of avoiding Tyler needing to spend a fuck ton of time on a boring minigame. I still wouldn't think the benefit to me as a viewer would be enough to warrant that, but that's just me.
The math behind the loan: 12% compounding interest for a 1000 dollar loan. Worst case scenario, that's 3896 (rounded up because decimals in this game don't work) off at the end. Whereas when not selling petrol would incur a loss in comparatability as most of the time, Aliensrock (or tyler) incures a income of over 3000 from selling in oil, which could be tripled, with a (opportunity) loss of 6000.
I don’t even think its compounding so worst case is actually 2440. So, under worst case scenario, to break even he would need to sell the petrol for 2.44x what he would have received for the oil. It seems like the strategy should generally be profitable at this rate
Finally, someone who actually seems to know why they’re doing by with this game! You absolutely destroyed the competition on that first map you played, selling it all and leaving early, and making as much (literally all of it) into petrol. That’s what I’ve been looking for when it comes to this game!
15:53 finally the pay off! 😂😂 this has to be the same feeling that one security guard felt in that movie with the bomb at the event. everyone thought he was crying wolf again since he always felt like something was gonna happen, but it finally did. think he said something like "if you see the bomb guy go pale, run"
LETS GOOOOO MORE TURMOIL THIS GAME IS A BANGER. Seriously though, thank you for being a consistent creator that I can always watch and enjoy (and get into games because of) thoughout the many, MANY years I've been subscribed.
I really enjoyed watching you play turmoil the first series back then and it's still just as good. This was a super satisfying episode. Look forward to expert as the challenge aspect outside of competing with yourself is a bit lacking
Yes! You nailed it, haha. I feel like the balloon minigame just drags out the game and distracts from the main gameplay. Plus, having to go even further down just feels tedious.
Don't sell the editing older so short. I just binged your first playthough as I have been binging a lot of your videos recently and honestly, the editing as well as your commentary on the games I've watched you play is some of the best quality I've seen on the UA-cam platform. I wish I could put out even half the quality on my main channel as you do on yours but I really don't have the time to edit nor the money to hire an editor. Keep up the great videos, I really do enjoy coming home from work to watch them
I feel like there are some small but obvious missing features from this game: - The position of new rigs and silos snapping to the sides of existing ones and the left/right companies. It should be on by default, with the ability hold Ctrl or something to temporarily turn it off, and that key would also turn off the minimum pipe distance. - The option to repay your loan, or part of it, earlier in the year. - The option to choose how much cash you take with you at the start of the year, instead of it being forced to always be $2k for no reason. - There's _so much_ more that the game could do to clearly communicate its state to the player: - Whether or not a pipe node is inside a reservoir, and of which liquid. E.g. just change the light grey outline to black or blue for oil or water respectively. This should also apply to the hypothetical/ghost node under your mouse cursor when you're in pipe-building mode, if the area under the node has been revealed. - Whether or not a reservoir has been completely depleted. E.g. desaturate the above node outline and the reservoir itself. _(Edit: I'm a dumbass: the reservoir _*_does_*_ get desaturated.)_ - Whether or not oil and water tanks are empty, especially-as you complained about multiple times-when wagons are in front of them. Maybe make wagons translucent when they're in front of a tank, and/or change the background colour of the inside of the tank when it's empty. - Any currently active bribes. E.g. if the right company currently has a minimum petrol price of $2.80, then have "⬆$2.80" in brown text floating above the right company building at all times (even when it's set to oil). - Your maximum herd size. E.g. if you have 10 carts and your max is 20, then the buy-a-horse button should say, "10/20" instead of just "10."
I'd love to see you do a run of this game where you have two goals: no spillage fines and a goal of say... 1.5 million at the end of it. Maybe that's a bit ambitious, but given that you were still learning the mechanics and got dinged with fines during this run, I think that it would be a mighty goal for you to aim for.
Only bummer with this vid is Tyler kinda skipped the "you won" stuff, might have been fun to see more summary statistics than just the total money. Otherwise great series. Turmoil and Polybridge are probably my favorite AR series of all on his channel.
I agree that the minigame isn't as enjoyable as you slamming down horses and expanding networks of oil and water. However if you later insist to keep it in the video, it wouldn't be too unamusing.

Super Excited for Super Expert
cannot wait for super expert, i love turmoil but it gets kinda boring with how much you beat the CPUs by haha
That sounds like fun. I've yet to see you or really anyone else struggle to beat the NPCs. So a fierce challenge, and possibly even a loss to an NPC?
super expert sounds super fun. The super cuts are nice too.
Maybe do some weekly challenges once you're out of that?
The previous strategies were quite crude, but this one is pretty refined.

I'm telling you dude, you won.

you and your fracking jokes. (hydraulic fracturing)
these comments are really gassing up that joke, but i guess it's only natural

Testing your endurance is no replacement for testing your skills, devs!
I think it could be fixed by having you start where you left off. starting from 0 meters everytime is so tedious
I feel going any deeper than 500m is more a test of patience and luck than of skill.
I think what needed to be done is make the animations for that game mode at least 2x faster, the content itself I find really enjoyable
@@F3XT how much of tedious content can become even kinda good if you just speed it up by like 3 times. I'm looking at you, payday 3 circles

It was very oily soil i think
I like how dowsers in this game, just like in real life, are useless

@ flat rate just helps the case for doing no oil
@@TristanLane520 loan good, as long as it’s 1000 or less.

Super excited for the expert Heat Is On campaign!! Also can't wait for the supercut, that'll be tons of fun.
They thought it was over. They thought turmoil was done. But little did they know what tyler was cooking with that heat!
13:53 “sometimes your dealt a shit hand, and what else is to do besides eat the shit” well said Aliensrock, well said
Insert megamind meme here
For what it's worth, I do enjoy the hot air balloon mini game.

I am SO ready for the Heat Is On the DLC again!
2:24 I know nothing about this game. But that's more or less how it works on a geopolitical scale, so can't be that bad of an idea.
1:41 yo Tyler has been hitting the gym? 😳
Did a back scratch and flex
Can't wait for the expert mode!! This game is so pleasant to watch, I always enjoy it
I thought the minigame was cool and enjoyed its unique style of thinking about/using the games mechanics
Its cool, but its tooo long and nothing really changes between each level except required depth, so it becomes boring
maaan, I love the ballon mining minigame!!! more fun than the actual game imho
That thumbnail definitely does not convey the actual strategy very well
my brain after reading the title: "would you rather have unlimited water but no oil, or unlimited oil but no oil"
Thank you so much for editing out the balloon minigame
*technically* he didn't edit it out, he just skipped it 🙃

not saying that the other videos weren't that interesting, however this one has made things VERY interesting 😈
I think if you find a mod or something to make the animations on the balloon minigame go faster you will enjoy it more, I really like the mini game
A new series and a supercut? Tyler you're an A Class entertainer!
I really enjoy the more minimalistic editing in this video
i cant believe this silly oil game is really fun to watch
Not gonna lie excited for another series of this game!
"A supercut is coming out soon of the old playthrough" I literally JUST watched through the whole thing are you fkn kidding me
Been loving good piping from Tyler
Nuuuu, I love the depth challenge!
And you're actually decent at it.

4:03 going crazy because he’s just piped and upgraded the piping to two goddamn oil pockets that aren’t even connected.
they're connected. in this game they just wait for the first pocket to empty first unlike how it used to be.
@ yeah I saw that, in previous episodes of this series (not including the old series) I could have sworn it worked that way still
I was wondering if he would do anything about the weird old outdated turmoil and now I’m happy
i'm happy he skipped the ballon mini-game, good video
Excited to see the expert series
Don't skip the minigame! It's really fun
You gotta get past all the turm if you want that oil.
Kinda wish for a supercut of the mini game, but agree it’s tedious. Would have liked to at least see how well you did.
You should play fractal block world maybe
YEAAAH he should that would be awesome
I love this game, can't wait to see more
Thank you Ben Ranger
I actually liked the mini games
You're the only one who doesn't struggle playing this game, everyone else i've seen play this loses to ai
Doing really solid at this game
Aw. I liked the mini game.
What an interesting strategy to beat turm .
I almost forgot this game existed
Only ever lost $6700 to oil spills and the game wants $20,000 for the timer upgrade
Only bummer with this vid is Tyler kinda skipped the "you won" stuff, might have been fun to see more summary statistics than just the total money.
Otherwise great series. Turmoil and Polybridge are probably my favorite AR series of all on his channel.
huh, i actually really enjoyed watching the mini game
Great video 👍
I suppose im the sole mini-game lover here XD
I'll take the hit for everyone else's sake
That's the oil companies actual strategy in real life. Use up all the oil and never pivot to alternatives
Super expert here we come!!
Not me being very confused because I had no idea this game had a recent update with a new campaign
the oil drilling strategy game with no oil
Oh petrol your refined your refined you blow my mind oh petrol
3:06 HOLY SHIT IS THAT A FUCKING JOJO REFRENCE????
Welcome to Turmpetrol! The game you have all been waiting for 😆
He became an oiled up magnate.
7:46 , i agree that i don’t like this minigame, i believe we both find it boring but Tyler you didn’t need to do this to the one that did like it
PEAK IS BAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!!
3:06
Did someone say Speedwagon!?!?!?
yoo tyler's turmoil remake lets goooo
I'ma be honest, I thought we found the infamous single digit land
He’s conquered the petrol lands.
oh THANK GOD you skipped the drilling mini-game
no oil makes perfect sense.
selling oil instead of petrol makes you lose 60% of its value, taking out a loan makes you lose 50% of the Oils value.
I agree that the minigame isn't as enjoyable as you slamming down horses and expanding networks of oil and water. However if you later insist to keep it in the video, it wouldn't be too unamusing.
thank you for continuing the series, love this game, can’t watch anyone else play it cause they all suck, AliensRock
I think the algorithm thought this was political, and it recommended me this. Not that I'm complaining
3:08 is that a motherfucking jojo reference
I like how with "No Oil" there are no freedom democracy meme😂😂😂
Am I the only one who screamed at my screen because Tyler didn't paid off his loan 😡🗿
Does boosting a petrol refinery use up more water than oil compared to letting it run at normal speed?
some may call it Turmpetrol strat
Who need to sell oil when you have better oil
No oil + meme scan when?
22:16
wait
no oil sold bonus?
They didn't sell any.
@
so if tyler sold exactly one tank of oil theyd get the bonus?
Does this mode not include a end of game bonus level like the other ones did where your goal is to just make as much money as you can?
7:45 but I do like that minigame :(
you should increase cursor size and change color if possible, so that we can follow your moves.
Hi, u could try the 1 million in the bank and owning 100% shares at the same time achievement.
What on earth... I thought I beat this game!? what is this petrol XD
You probably made billions in todays money if you account for inflation
Oh shit theres petroleum in the game? I’ve played this on mobile and only did the first campaign so far
15:41 what sort of mind reading sorcery was this?????
woah
