The funny thing is, The law system in Japan is actually quite like it is in this game. When the case is brought to court, you are indeed guilty until proven innocent. Japan has a 99% conviction rate. Think about that for a second.
That's pretty crazy! Is that partly why the Yakuza operate pretty openly, because prosecutors won't prosecute unless conviction is essentially certain?
"Japan has a 99% conviction rate. Think about that for a second." jps and the people are serious about their jobs and the traditional values that the west seems to lack nowadays that made nations great.
drakke125Channel Only problem with that statement is that a large part of their convictions come from so called "confessions", where a suspect is interrogated for periods of time that go beyond the 6 hours per day for periods of up to 23 days. There have been multiple cases in Japan where convictions come from confessions only for new evidence to appear which will expressly contradict the confession.

snow calano Hahah I'd love to see that. Did you also watch the video "Klavier Gavin gay or european"? ;D But a Detective Conan crossover would be really fitting. You remember the noodle/rakugo case in Spirit of Justice? I had very strong Detective Conan feelings there for some reason...
Unfortunately, I haven't but just from the title I get the feeling it's a Klapollo and I'm not into that pairing. (And I'm not starting a shipping war by revealing the pairings I do like.) In all honesty, I would like to see a Detective Conan/Phoenix Wright crossover. I'd write one myself but even writing a Yandere Simulator/Ace Attorney crossover is kicking my ass. (Mostly because I have to keep up with all of the YS updates.)
I swear the clip of miles edgeworth saying “My cravat doesn’t flutter to that extent” and then the entire courtroom falling over in response could sum up the whole series omg
That pratfall scene in the live action movie is an exaggeration, but the Japanese love their pratfalls. Japan's love of the pratfall makes me almost hate my students sometimes. I have a "no pratfall" rule in my class because 1. I'm tired of seeing it, and 2. They actually get hurt when they do it like 1/3 of the time.
It's when someone falls over when hearing something stupid and/or absurd that they just can't keep standing. It's very common in anime, in particular. It also happens at 2:40 in this video
oh, today i learned that it had a real name and is a real thing. I've seen anime characters making fun of it so i thought it couldn't be real. plus i can't imagine people actually spontaneously and collectively crashing on purpose? the clip from the live action film looks more like they suddenly got a bomb threat. people save actually facepalming for the most egregious situations, so full body facepalming has got to be for some pretty bad stuff.
dear gleen They should do both games, but "popularity" shouldn't be the deciding factor for what they do first. It should be decided by the fans and makers of the video. Personally, I prefer Zero Escape. But to each their own.
Gabriel Hardin I personally like both, but I can hardly see them making a Zero Escape Trailer at the moment. Great games, but I think its not very well known yet. Dangan has an increasing fan base at the moment, so I hope they do it at least.
OBJECTION! this Honest Trailer was super weak. C'mon, where's the mocking of the punny names? You didn't even bring up the parrot! Also, for the rest of you, favorite AA turnabout? I just finished JFA, and it has to be Farewell, My Turnabout. I don't think they'll be able to top that in T&T. It's just that good, and it can only work once.
You'd be surprised. Most people, myself included, put the last case of T&T as being the best in the series (though explaining why would necessitate spoilers). That said, Farewell, My Turnabout is the _very_ close second.
The best storyline for a game overall is definitely the third. It was amazing to watch the plot coming together in the final case. Best case on its own though, second case of JFK was definitely my favourite
OH My GOOOOOOOSH YYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's far from accurate but I still think you'll find it a fun experience nevertheless. I'd suggest giving it a look, the entire original trilogy and the two new ones are on 3DS eshop, and apollo can be played on it too.
+Brandon Lyon Actually, it's not based on Japan's current law system. It's based on a law system they had for a short period of time, because it was clearly faulty.
"the cross over we all whant to see.." well i dont know about you but for me "Danganrompa's Naegi vs Ace attornie" would be a Incredibly Awesome and epic! XD
You forgot the part where moving the plot forward involves doing something so ridiculous that you have to consult a walkthrough, walk into three different rooms, and do a handstand before progressing the plot
the one game series that deserves a remake that does justice to the original ps1 games rather than the shitty ps2 and xbox games that ruined the franchise, except the gba games that were basically pokemon title themed by making spyro be in crash bandicoot's world and having crash bandicoot in spyro's world
"As you use simple logical deductions to make criminals absolutely lose their shit" *Shows Kristoph's break down* You can not pick a better character with a better break down than Kristoph.
1) They need to stop with the retarded "Japanifornia" idea and just admit the series takes place in Japan. 2) They can keep the game consistent with Japanifornia anyway - all they have to do is say that Phoenix Wright is at least half Japanese and the main character is his ancestor from the Japanese side of the family before they emigrated to Japamerica.
MrZsc Not really. Canon states that it's an alternate history where Japan never sided with the Nazis. So there were no internment camps and Japanese people and culture expanded a lot in California. So even in the stupid Japanifornia canon, it would still make sense. Everyone shut up and eat your burgers.
Granted, that was a fan project. They SHOULD'VE mentioned the actually official multiple all-female stage plays, or the extensive collection of manga for both Phoenix and Edgeworth, or the investigations-themed amusement park installation.
YES!! I've been asking for months. Except, they'll probably spoil the end of the last game, which is the only one I haven't played (as so writing this comment, at least)
YAAAS! Because if you think about it, the solutions to the mysterues are sometumes more outrageous than the. mysteries themselves. "Its not tike travel, its an exact repicla of london built in a conveinient giant cave no one had ever noticed underneath london, all masterminded by a dude who is barely old enough to drive, soley to trick this one person to get back at him becuase he stopped him from getting himself killed by chasing after his parents who, along with laytons gf (who ACTUALLY WENT THROUGH TIME) got blown up.
+Oliver Nutkins-Middleton No. Just, no. *SPOILER ALERT FOR PROFESSOR LAYTON 3* The guy called Layton because he subconsiously wanted Layton to stop him again. The real reason he went cuckoo was to get revenge on the Prime Minister, who was responsible for the explosion.
+Dylan Garcia he already kidnapped the prime minister. if clive wanted revenge he should just put a bullet in that guy instead of building a giant walking killer fortress
Apparently, the Ace Attorney franchise is a critique of the entire justice system in Japan. They have no jury and the prosecutor only takes cases they know they can win, and sometime really just straight up lie, and the defense isn't allowed any resources. The best defense attorney in Japan only won about three cases in his entire career. The low crime rate is also helped by the police ignoring certain crime if they know they don't have enough evidence for a case. They have such a low crime rate and high conviction rate is because they only do their job when they know they can win.
They actually did added juries by 2009, but unfortunately they are only used in extreme cases like murder and are usually just extra judges added to observe the cases.
jury is stupid anyways, random people of the street shouldnt be judges random people arre suseptible to propaganda and baises (the amount of time people werent convicted for crimes or were convicted of crimes because of unrelated things like gender or race that the jury is baised to in the american justice system is staggerin) the problem is that its more towards guilty into proven inocent rather than innocent till proven guilty because of what you mentioned
Without a jury you are at the complete mercy of the judge who hands the verdict.Who can have his/her own bias or is not in a good mood and spite the victim anyways, and as you can see in the games the judge is extremely gullible and with buy into anything a witness or prosecutor says, or be intimidated by one of them. Also the point of a jury is to be completely unbiased, that why in jury duty they will ask a bunch of questions related to the case to finally pick the most unbiased juries as possible. Even if their is one jury who has no clue about the case you still have around 14 to 19 others who can keep the others in check. Courts will also try to enforce the juries to not research or learn about the case until the the trial itself starts (this is why sometimes they sent them to hotels or motels to keep them from outside I influences to effect their opinion. It may not be a perfect system, but it has evolved over the years and hope for better change in the future, besides would you honestly want your fate to be judged by one person with a mallet.
Phoenix Wright and Monster Hunter? .... Not a bad idea, but.... personally, I'd sooner see a crossover between Ace Attorney and Danganronpa (which would go together about as well as Water and Mercury).
Probably pretty unlikely for a Nintendo exclusive game to make a crossover with a series never featured on a Nintendo console. Sure we got Phoenix in MvC, but that's more of a cameo than a crossover.
Hate to break your gavel, but the Ace Attorney games haven't been Nintendo-exclusive since the iOS release of the original trilogy. Still a great idea for a crossover,, though...

But a Detective Conan crossover would be really fitting. You remember the noodle/rakugo case in Spirit of Justice? I had very strong Detective Conan feelings there for some reason...
Unfortunately, I haven't but just from the title I get the feeling it's a Klapollo and I'm not into that pairing. (And I'm not starting a shipping war by revealing the pairings I do like.)
In all honesty, I would like to see a Detective Conan/Phoenix Wright crossover. I'd write one myself but even writing a Yandere Simulator/Ace Attorney crossover is kicking my ass. (Mostly because I have to keep up with all of the YS updates.)
Its Phoenix Wright & Danganronpa crossover that we will want. Or at least just me.
There will be so many fucked up deaths that might or might not be the main characters, you really want that crossover to happen?
yes
I can see Maya being suspected... again
"Kirigiri is not best girl."
"OBJECTION!"
"THAT'S WRONG!"
Sakura is clearly best girl.
They actually get hurt when they do it like 1/3 of the time.
bobtheduck wtfs a prat fall?
It's when someone falls over when hearing something stupid and/or absurd that they just can't keep standing. It's very common in anime, in particular. It also happens at 2:40 in this video
oh, today i learned that it had a real name and is a real thing. I've seen anime characters making fun of it so i thought it couldn't be real. plus i can't imagine people actually spontaneously and collectively crashing on purpose? the clip from the live action film looks more like they suddenly got a bomb threat. people save actually facepalming for the most egregious situations, so full body facepalming has got to be for some pretty bad stuff.
PLEASE do the Zero Escape series!!! That would be SO amazing!
Gabriel Hardin They should first do DanganRonpa, since its more popular
dear gleen They should do both games, but "popularity" shouldn't be the deciding factor for what they do first. It should be decided by the fans and makers of the video. Personally, I prefer Zero Escape. But to each their own.
Gabriel Hardin I personally like both, but I can hardly see them making a Zero Escape Trailer at the moment. Great games, but I think its not very well known yet. Dangan has an increasing fan base at the moment, so I hope they do it at least.
dear gleen Hey, I hope that they get to both of them in time.
Gabriel Hardin *fingers crossed
OBJECTION!
this Honest Trailer was super weak.
Professor Layton is the best prosecutor Phoenix has even encountered.
The Epic Voice Guy is not the one writing the script for these reviews, so you may want to put that pronoun towards a more proper target.
- It's just that good, and it can only work once. -
oh man if your mind may change once you get to the final T T case
The best storyline for a game overall is definitely the third. It was amazing to watch the plot coming together in the final case. Best case on its own though, second case of JFK was definitely my favourite
“A weird spinoff set in 19th century Japan that we’ll never get in English”. Well this statement aged like milk
OH MY GOD Why haven't you done Conker's Bad Fur Day yet? That game was practically made for an Honest Trailer!
I second that notion.
OBJECTION!
TAKE THAT!
And get NintendoCapriSun in on it too.
OH My GOOOOOOOSH YYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“A weird spinoff set in 19th century Japan that we’ll never get in English.”
Yeah, about that...
As an actual lawyer, I'd like to see just how much this game is like being a lawyer. Maybe I can learn a thing or two lol
try it man. it's probably far off of reality, but it's fun anyway
You can play the first case of the first game for free, if you have an iOS device :)
It gives you the idea of the Japanese court system, which to a defense lawyer is a nightmare over their.
I love how he calls Godot a coffee machine. It’s funny because it’s true.
"the cross over we all whant to see.."
well i dont know about you but for me "Danganrompa's Naegi vs Ace attornie" would be a Incredibly Awesome and epic! XD
...and epic combo"
(i forgot to add that)
The Crossover I've always wanted is Monster Hunter X Street Fighter!
We know Ryu's tough.... Let's see him punch Elder Dragons in the fucking face!!!
Well, he can Shoryuken giant robots and monsters pulsing with thermal energy, he'll be fine.
heardofrvb
Zangief's just suplexing the Lagiacrus in the background.... It's shocking him, but Zangief doesn't give a fuck, lol!
Nah. Phoenix Wright / My Little Pony will always be the best crossover.
You forgot the part where moving the plot forward involves doing something so ridiculous that you have to consult a walkthrough, walk into three different rooms, and do a handstand before progressing the plot
PLEASE DO THE SPYRO THE DRAGON SERIES!!
LET THE FANS SHOUT IT TOGETHER!!
Spyrooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Elijah wood! Just me?
+Sammi Stonelake You're not alone my friend.
yh sure why not
the one game series that deserves a remake that does justice to the original ps1 games rather than the shitty ps2 and xbox games that ruined the franchise, except the gba games that were basically pokemon title themed by making spyro be in crash bandicoot's world and having crash bandicoot in spyro's world
The way how you mention that they'll let Megaman die... it hit me...
Wait wasn't it already dead? I legit thought MegaMan was discontinued.
I use my necromancy on Megaman.
Where is some Phoenix Down when you need it?
+zimmygirl777 Rolling D&D dice...
You rolled a 1. Good job, now everyone forgets about Megaman.
that part hit me in the feels xD
3:32
"And feel like a master lawyer"
Can't lie it did make me feel like that
I’m surprised he didn’t include the fact that some of the characters have strange names like Sal Monella, Wendy Oldbag, Frank Sawhit
Say "I object. That was objectible."
objectionable
No, its objectable.
tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ThatWasObjectionable
get fucked bruh
The other guy?
DAMN IT, I WANT MY TRAILER ALREADY!
Go for it Professor!
Critical thinking is the key to success.
A TRUE GENTLEMAN DOES NOT REQUIRE PATIENCE!
Daniel Jones Where was he murdered?
The murderer was me
"Law and Order: Anime"
😂😂😂😂😂😂
wut
no u it was a comment he made around the end of the video 😂
That's an accurate title.
I was hoping for the Duh Duh!
Now, we need a Professor Layton
We do indeed, my boy!
+Professor Hershel Layton You're rather familiar with the tall man in blue, aren't you Professor? 😉
Kou Izumi It's the duty of every true gentleman to know the identities of potential allies and opponents.
This game... made me want to become a lawyer. And now I'm 3/4 of the way there.
Make a trailer about Danganronpa, please.
I agree!
Gabriel Jourdenais Hamel Hell yea
YES
Gabriel Jourdenais Hamel My man I have amazing news for you
"that will never get localized"
*OBJECTION*
i would play phoenix wright monster hunter
Phoenix: It was you!
Monster: RRRAAAWWWWRRRR!?!
+Niles - known to be gay even if he married Mozu the one whole stole that rathalos plate.....was you!
+Niles - known to be gay even if he married Mozu So TRUE LMFAO
Deviljho would be a "witness"
Phoenix:Did you eat that Queropeco?
Deviljho: RAAAAAWWWWWWRRRR!!!!! *GOES INTO SAVAGE MODE*
Phoenix Wright : Ace Monster Hunter would be the best crossover ever made.
‘A weird spinoff set in 19th century Japan that we’ll get in English’
Cheers to 2021 Capcom!
Do Danganronpa series plz
We need a Danganronpa game trailer, like really bad
Please!!
YES!!!!
FOR DESPAIR!!!
Gosh darn it man! I came here for Ace Attorney and you gotta go and spoil Danganronpa! At least add a spoilers tag next time!
4:00 "Sorry, Megaman! Clearly, you should've clearly looked into a law degree".
LMAO
"As you use simple logical deductions to make criminals absolutely lose their shit"
*Shows Kristoph's break down*
You can not pick a better character with a better break down than Kristoph.
And lets not forget the fan made My Little Pony crossover... yes, that is a thing, its actually good.
And the bird version that throws all the plot twists at you right out of the gate because it only has 4 chapters.
As a fan of both worlds...YEP, Turnabout Storm is pretty good.
Turnabout storm is great imo
Sadly not everyone agrees.
YES! Turnabout Storm is my favorite video on the internet, by far.
It's actually sent in 19th century England. The protagonist is from Japan though.
The point is: There's literally no reason to not localize it.
they would screw up the "japanifornia" canon though
Unfortunately, Capcom don't think they'll get back the money they spend to localize it.
Well the transition to America was probably use to make sense of the Japanese legal system (no jury's, favored for prosecutors, etc)
2:34 I believe there was also a Phoenix Wright stage musical.
OBJECTION!!!
Sorry, what were we talking about, I just wanted to say that line.
OBJECTION!!!
OBJECTION.... that was pointless
+xxX_MLG_Pro_2000_Xxx LpHd OBJECTION!
That was a joke. You know, that thing people with a sense of humor do to entertain those around them??
I object to your face.
0W3ND NOOB LOLOLOLOLOL
HOLD IT!!
That wasn't very funny.
sumguy0110 TAKE THAT!!!!!
You forgot about the Phoenix Wright musical...
THAT EXISTS!?!?!?!?
Granted, that was a fan project. They SHOULD'VE mentioned the actually official multiple all-female stage plays, or the extensive collection of manga for both Phoenix and Edgeworth, or the investigations-themed amusement park installation.
+when you forget to put the link in the description
Yup!
Reecer77 Jonathan Stein Xavier Saavedra Wow, I knew about the manga but none of the other stuff. That's pretty cool
And the theme park ride thing they had where visitors can look for clues and go to court to solve a crime, they've had like 3 cases so far already.
2:19 This comment aged like fine milk
"A weird spinoff set in 19th century Japan that we'll never get in English"
Well that joke certainly aged well now didn't it
Reconstructing crime scenes with emojis }:-D
I lost my shit at 4:09 x'D
And I loved it
OBJECTION! I object! That was...Objectionable!
Anyway Objection!
Anyway Objection overruled.
Let me guess. You were trying to come up with something to say while you were objecting... but you didn't.
+ILiketoLaugh No the prosecutors will actually say that
Oh Miles...
+ILiketoLaugh No...I didn't.
2:19
Who’s here after Capcom announced that The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is getting a worldwide release?
The Live Action Film as awesome! Just all all things with Ace Attorney has been nothing short of great (although some can argue otherwise)
Well the manga was kinda lackluster...but yeah. Everything else this series does is pure gold.
The manga was decent. But the anime... gaaaaah
Gianna Di Biase Castro Eh tbh if you can't stand the drawings then just don't waste your time. It's alright but nothing groundbreaking.
Gianna Di Biase Castro Just look at the cutscenes in the 3DS games and pretend it's the anime. It works like a charm xP
Phoenix can do no wrong. Even the My Little Pony crossover was awesome, and I wasn't even a brony when I watched it.
Say: "Arkham Origins is the best Batman videogame ever."
Never
never
What's wrong with Arkham Origins? Why people hate so much that game?
+Davidcito is ok It good just not Batman videogame good like it should have been.
why blatantly lie?
It is the most ridiculous fandom I have ever been apart of and I absolutely love it
2:19 a spin off we'll never get in English they said. Press X to doubt this July 27th 2021 as the Great Ace Attorney Chronicles arrives.
Cool, now where's danganronpa?
Alexei Strife ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
#hope
Yeah give us Danganronpa
Lol hope
#heartlightheartfartdark
So a live action movie is more wonky than the Takarazuka musical that for some reason used the English names?
Glad someone else mentioned it. I thought a Takarazuka musical beats a live-action movie any day for insanity.
how did they not mention the musicals XD
PrincessOzaline i love the musicals, as cringey as it is, it's entertaining 😂
"Makes judge Judy look like the supreme Court". I died😂
Why not Phoenix Wright with Detective Pikachu? At least that would add some spice to the series. :P
ok, you have mentioned Professor Layton, now you have to do a Professor Layton Honest Trailer, PLEASEEEEE DO IT!!!
please say "I am L, the world's greatest detective."
I can't believe you didn't mention how phoenix and edgeworth clearly have a thing for each other
Maybe it’s because they don’t and they’re just friends.
@@TheLegoMaster261 That never stopped HT before! :D
I lost it at “Slick back that Dragon Ball Z hair” 😂😂😂😂
Do Professor Layton next! I love those games!
Just, no.
*SPOILER ALERT FOR PROFESSOR LAYTON 3*
The guy called Layton because he subconsiously wanted Layton to stop him again. The real reason he went cuckoo was to get revenge on the Prime Minister, who was responsible for the explosion.
+Dylan Garcia
BUT WHY CREATE AN EXACT REPICLA OF LONDON! Was that needed for his evil plan?
+Dylan Garcia he already kidnapped the prime minister. if clive wanted revenge he should just put a bullet in that guy instead of building a giant walking killer fortress
“And his sidekick Knuckles”
Ok that got me.
1:16 REALLY?! MAN, SHOULD THESE GUYS BE OUT SOLVING THE JFK ASSASSINATION OR SOMETHING!!!
"A weird spin off set in 19th century Japan that we'll never get in English"
Buddy... I got news for you
Do Danganronpa
Yes I am not the only one
The despair!!!!
Agree, Danganrompa should be next!
i doubt it, i don't think they know about it, even though it's amazing.
Dammit, I hate it when other people give better suggestions than me.
No offense.
Yeah, this is a parody of the court systems in Japan of 2001.
jury is stupid anyways, random people of the street shouldnt be judges
random people arre suseptible to propaganda and baises
(the amount of time people werent convicted for crimes or were convicted of crimes because of unrelated things like gender or race that the jury is baised to in the american justice system is staggerin)
the problem is that its more towards guilty into proven inocent rather than innocent till proven guilty
because of what you mentioned
Its partially a parody of the justice system, but most of the changes are primarily for gameplay reasons.
MR 11037, I BELIEVE YOU ARE THE CULPRIT TAKE THAT
Yeah you're right it would be a explosion of spirit mediums AND despair
I think I read somewhere that they actually are working on an Ace Attorney and Danganronpa game, seriously.
Probably pretty unlikely for a Nintendo exclusive game to make a crossover with a series never featured on a Nintendo console. Sure we got Phoenix in MvC, but that's more of a cameo than a crossover.
ace attorny and detective Conan
Hate to break your gavel, but the Ace Attorney games haven't been Nintendo-exclusive since the iOS release of the original trilogy. Still a great idea for a crossover,, though...
Hold up! Did he just call Athena emo? Despite her backstory, Athena has to be the most cheerful character in the entire series!
They didn't do Danganronpa yet?
The need to !
Good idea Persona should also have one
+Jose David Gutierrez Castillo yes persona
I was just about to comment about making a honest trailer about Danganronpa ^~^
