Another win from Wampler! Not only is this channel amazing and I’ve learned so much, but the pedals sound terrific, with great sounding pedals re-released at prices the working guy or gal can afford and not worry about dragging a priceless artifact around on a pedal board, with the extra benefit of the updated version possibly sounding as good, or better with more features. Now.....time for a shootout/comparison! Ibanez MT-10 Mostortion vs Karma MTN-10 vs Wampler Mofetta! Let's get it on!
Thanks for the video, Tom. Always good to look at drives we don’t need but might wind up buying, because, more drives 😊. At 1.25, I think you meant to say “…as you would expect from the name (and indeed the EQ), it’s a Klone, and not transparent at all, despite Paul’s protestations to the contrary”. I had one and it’s not a bad pedal by any means, although I’d take the Nordvang equivalents over this all day. Edit - you did it again at 3.50. Note to anyone hearing the description and then listening to the pedal: yes it does have a Klonalike mid bump.
2 pedals I own that I would think should be on this list is the Ibanez Nu-tube screamer and the Ibanez pentatone, I was never a fan of these types of pedals from Ibanez till I ran them, especially the Pentatone is really flexible. I do love my MXR 5150 overdrive is just awesome as well .
No offense to Mr. Tamura, but I would have to argue that a Tube Screamer with no midrange hump and extended bass is, by definition, not a Tube Screamer. That doesn't mean that this pedal doesn't sound good: it does.
I had the Revv Tilt and I just couldn't mesh with it. I couldn't get it bright enough to use. I had all the Revv pedals, and I found the G2 to have more presence. The Tilt kind of sounded like there was a blanket over the speaker. The boost part was pretty great.
Yeah l think a lot of people felt the same way - they released it as a separate pedal afterwards. I have one and it is a super high quality boost. Shawn Tubbs could obviously make a pool cue with a piece of string sound good.

To me, the Boss SD-1 is really great for any occasion - weddings, bar mitzvahs, funerals, job interviews.

I guess we'll never get tired of overdrives.
Very helpful! I'm going to do more research now on the Warm drive, I like that one.
Excellent rundown! I am overwhelmed with overdrive.

As a dirt pedal junky, I'm all in on this vid.

Agree %100
Blues Driver all the way 🤘
The horsemeat definitely has a mid boost.
Each pedal can sound completely different ,with different ,amps
Try an Nobels ODR-1......:-) best regards from Hamburg
I thought the Horse meat was based on a Klon? So not transparent.
Correct and, clearly correct!
Nice video
No SD1, BD1 or guvnor’ ?
What's the purpose of a mid scooped Tube Screamer?
You can use an Nobels ODR-1...that easy
Good video, but cut down on the distracting pedal wavin
...transparent...mid-push...amp in a box...Overdrive Bingo !
What amp ? Thanks
Deluxe Reverb Reissue (2006-ish)
A "transparent" overdrive with three EQ controls? Yeah, let's just stop using transparent as an adjective for pedals.
Wow! No Timmy, no 250, no od1, no no odr1…. But it had to have an ehx pedal… 🤨
Wow. That was a lot of talking in comparison to playing.
I thought the Horsemeat (terrible name BTW), a Klon clone (i.e., NOT transparent)....
