@K. Cobang Corey Taylor has made some absolute headbanging hard hitters and yet one of his most can favourite songs is the soft yet haunting Snuff. This EP has a little bit for everyone , and it's about being a fan of good music in general , not just one fucking genre. Most Metal musicians have clearly stated that good music can come from any genre , there's good music and there's shit music. Any genre can make any of those. Stop being an elitist douchebag , One day is a perfect end to the EP and it fits the theme , not every song ought to go heavy , we wouldn't have any difference in different music styles

This song is about humanity destrying the earth, amy representing mother earth and ollie representing humans. The lyrics are increadibly dark amd depressing and the vocals are just increadible, and yes its a ballad.
I think this is one of the best ideas I ever saw in a song. So great to pack such an important topic into a freaking ballad.

@@londeners3321 oh that's the one thing about all this that pisses me right off (not you, but like the view that this is somehow a fucking political issue). Climate change is irrefutable, the only argument is whether or not humans are the direct cause (spoiler: if you have basic graph reading skills, its very clear that humanity is the direct cause, and if you look at the backers of every scientist who refutes climate change clear conflicts of interest emerge), but regardless its in everyone's best interest to work towards stopping this shit. "We don't know for sure that this will end life on Earth" my ass, look at fucking Venus. That's what happens once the greenhouse effect passes the point of no return, it keeps building and building until the atmospheric pressure is too high for any macroscopic life, and carbon in the atmosphere drops as acid rain (which we're already starting to see in low concentrations). We got one planet, regardless of political or economic belief its on us to take care of it. All of us, not just corporations and governments but every single person. Sorry about the rant, but this shit all just pisses me off. We caused this problem, it's on us to fix it not our kids not our grandkids but us. At the very least it's on us to get the ball rolling on this.

This feels like such a fitting ending. With the Resi-evil track "Dear Diary," and "Parasite Eve" in there as well, all the apocalyptic imagery, this song feels like the last survivors seeing their life fade away. It's beautiful for what it is.

Apparently it's a ballad between Mother Nature (Amy Lee) and Humanity (Oli). So it's essentially about how humans are fuckin up the world which will fuck us up in turn

Amy Lee was the perfect pairing... This is a masterpiece. Oli definitely showcased his range. 10/10 for production.
I think the "hitting the note but it's not a goodbye yet" is because they're making more EPs to release subsequently. Maybe it was intentional, maybe it wasn't, but I feel BMTH have been in the game long enough to have made that intentional.

Nah Amy Lee was a fan of the band. Basically BMTH gave her song creds on nihilist blues and then her agent said she wanted to do a song with them after that.

This song is the perfect implementation between Amy's dark, gloomy, melodic and melancholic vibe and the Evanescence's sound with the modernity of Bring me the horizon.
That dark and chilling tone of Amy that at the same time gives a welcoming and softness to the song but also causes discomfort along with Oli's violent voice sounds incredible

It's not what I expect from BMTH, and not what I normally listen to, but it's got something special to it. It's hauntingly beautiful. Every listen gives me goosebumps. It's so good.

Honestly to me, this is my second fav song on the album, after Parasite Eve, because its so HEAVY, but not in the instrumental/screaming version, more like in the lyrics & the content of the song. which in a way makes it even heavier & more real. Fkn awesome!!!!!!
The end just... I NEED MORE, I feel like this is totally a prelude to a suuuuper heavy opening song on a follow-up EP. I've got my fingers crossed, but that aside SUCH a beautiful song.

My favourite male vocal artist meets one of favourite female vocal artists = pure heaven. Gives me chills every time I listen. Also, being a Game of Thrones fan, I love the Ramin Djawadi vibes of the piano outro as well (very similar to the soundtrack when Cersei blows everyone up in Season 7) - love love love!

I saw an Oli interview that mentioned this (turns out he clarified it wasn’t entirely true on Twitter). Either way, I wasn’t trying to attack anyone. I just thought it was genuinely cool that a good song would come out of a “hiccup” like that.
What absolutely love about this song (also taking into consideration that it's the closing song of the EP) is the ending. The massive build up and then just that one soft note, which kinda haunts you. Every time I listen to this song it leaves me with a feeling of hopelessness, with some kind of yearning - and I think that reflects the whole EP perfectly.
Jesus dude, get back onto Evanescence, they are SO MUCH MORE than "That one album, that one song". Incredible band, incredible vocalist.

Really well said near the end there about their experimentation and combination of genres, breaking down walls between genres.
The fact that the last song of this EP is a ballad (? reminds me of the sempiternal deluxe edition that ended with Deathbeds which i think is pretty cool
