badass album dude!!!!
Nik should put those interviews on spotify as a podcast, im loving this interviews that you guys post here, i cant watch it live, i wish i watched Tremonti interview
Anyway, ty for your work
"It's not a breakdown, it's where the song breaks down." - Sam Carter, 2022
Out of context this sounds funny
It’s where I break down
Architects made me get throught hard times since 2013. I love this band so much. Sam's right, life has to move on, evolve... I'm glad he's doing better mentally and being more confident with himself now.
Yes Lost Forever//Lost Together hit me hard and helped me through tough times. Loved their albums until Holy Hell a lot.
My jaw dropped the first time I heard gravedigger and I became a fan for life. Music has to evolve and bands change. I love what they are doing now as I did then. If I want to hear the same song over and over for years I'll put on a New Found Glory album and love it
dude, never would I have expected Sam to ever come on this show. and not only has he done that, he's a fan of the show and his dad is too?!
Yeah that blew me away. Like WOW, Nick has come a long way, eh? Now not only he's a fan of metal artists, but they are his fans as well. How cool is that?
I mean, he's there when they're recording
He'll Surprise ya! Never did I expect him to do guest vocals with Good Charolette live but it happened
“Now we’re just heavy in a different way”
*THIS* 100%
" the father of BLEGH " haha
aged like fine wine
He’s so chill
Certainly is!

The newest music isn’t so much for me but I’m so so happy that Sam and the band are having fun with their lives and overcoming their struggles and loss. To me that’s more important and to see how genuine of a guy sam is makes the band so much more special
Mark of someone that came up in a healthy metal scene:
Sam: "I always paid attention to the merch these bands were wearing, checking out those bands, and shouting out those other bands to other people"
That's how it should be folks.
I love seeing Sam Carter smiling and their music evolving! I have been a fan and will always be a fan no matter what! I'm in it for the change! ♥️
That si change not evolving bro.
The change is awful though. Not executed well in any way. I’m glad they’re happy but they didn’t bridge the sound enough. They went from being a heavy ass fucking band to not a single proper breakdown or screams in a single album. Even FTTWE had a shit load of heavy songs. They abandoned entirely the sound that they crafted. Sounded like no other band and now they sound like your typical garage rock band.
@@nathandrums0 Yes they changed to something that others are doing way better in comparison. They seem like They just want to find that commercial formula with little soul in it.
@@josecanal7556 exactly. They’re trying to do what Bring me the Horizon did but they just didn’t execute it well. Same thing with asking Alexandria. It reminds me of how they did it. Sudden with no explanation, reason, or even proper songs that sound good with the new song. I listened to the new album once all the way through and literally threw it away.
@@josecanal7556 evolution is literally change
The "Josh being held against his will" bit had me crying with laughter! wow that was amazing
This entire interview is phenomenal. Especially hearing one of his biggest influences is Underoath. I've loved Architects for years but still have yet to see them live. I'd sell my testicles and/or kidneys to see them just once. Life isn't good but the music always makes it better.
Side note: "burn down my house" is one of their "heaviest" and most meaningful songs to me. Especially for what I'm currently going through. Much love to everyone and remember, you are worth more than money could ever comprehend. Stay strong
They’re magnificent live. Somehow sound even fatter than on the record.
Sam is such a smart, honest and humble person... Listening to him is always like a lesson about different shades of life and emotions... He opens people's eyes so often! I think we saw so many things from different points of view thanks to him! At least I did. That's why I follow Architects with my head high, no matter what other people say. This band deserves a huge respect.❤
I can't tell you how many times architects have saved my life! Actually have the "hope is a prison" tattooed on my leg, I battled pancreatic cancer and it was towards the end of when Tom Searle was battling right before he passed, his strength and their music was what pushed me to keep fighting no matter how bad I wanted to give up, it just still to this day breaks my heart that Tom died I never got to meet him but It felt like I knew him in a weird way like we were connected (and not in a weird creepy way a stalker would say) I just wish more than anything that he would have beat it, he was so young and talented, RIP Tom Searle! You Will forever be a legend, and sam carter, and Dan Searle and the rest of you guys...I'm sure Tom is looking down on you smiling at what you guys have done with the band since his passing, and Nik!! That's so fucking cool that Sam's dad watches your videos
The most devastating news I got this year was the tour cancellation from these guys, I love their sound and i eagerly await the next announcement from them
I'm glad Sam and the band seem happy, and that makes ME happy. I like the direction they've been going and it'll be interesting to see where they go from here.
Praise Cristiano Ronaldo for his contribution to metal music.
"be very afraid" hits the hardest for me
it's not A noise, it's THE noise
Sam is such a wholesome, humble and fun dude and I‘m very glad to be aware of him and listen to him talk once in a while and his music too of course. Big inspiration!
35:00 I like it when i see the real personality from a musician that i like, cause its cool to see how their real are and how they are in the music that they make
Top notch interview Nik.
Great flow of conversation with insightful input, and the questions progressed things naturally.
Massive love to you, Sam, and all the lads in Architects!
He's honestly a bit awkward with the weird wheezy laughs but not bad for a side gig. I hope he gets better at asking questions tho, they seem a bit too closed to one narrative than open ended for subjectivity
Damn, was really hoping to see Nik’s reaction to Be Very Afraid. 😂
Me too
This is so true...and now "seeing red" just nailed it perfectly! Sam's just a really grown man - unlike a lot of internet trolls and h8ters. Love this man!
i just really love the fact that Sam is so chill and down to earth, also Nick looks so facinated when listening to Sam it makes me smile.
Feels amazing being a part of this 10 album journey. Last 2 albums were not my favs but at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter as I still enjoy listening to those albums as well, it's fresh and fun music where the boys are trying different things. This band has been a big part of my life and I wish nothing but the best for them
im so glad you uploaded this i missed the stream thank you so much bro
I lost a friend back in january, Holy Hell really got me through this. Thanks Sam!
FINALLY seeing Architects next month and i found this interview! I cannot freaking wait to rock my face off!! ❤
Also love how chill & fun Sam is... Almost forgot that he has always been like that because he was going through dark times which showed in some of his tweets/replies on twitter but I'm glad to see my man happy again
had a wonderful time watching this.
teared up a little at the #1 in charts part with fans support, so wholesome indeed.
Haven't listened to them much but I just love listening to musicians talk. Trying to learn everything I can little by little.. one day
Love this interview so much. Architects is phenomenal. Was supposed to see them, but then they cancelled their US tour. Crushed me but i understand they needed to. Hopefully i can see them when they come back!
I have been listening only since the last two records but listened back to the former records before that afterwards. It has worked so well in the songs I'm sure it's hard to incorporate it now. It worked very well in this song. Love Doomsay. Love For Those That Wish To Exists. Payed for the live orchestra show. Love that they local radio station started playing you within 6 months after I found you guys. Love the contradictions, metaphors, layers of lyrics, band, back up vocals... etc. Keep it going! 💖💫
I'm going to see Architects live on Friday for the second time this year, can't wait.
Amazing interview. Love how the Architects are evolving and creating new fresh music! Great band!
Hearing him shout out Norma Jean warms my heart
Hereafter is my favorite song ever and i love the new sound and will always be an architects fan no matter what path they choose
Wooooooow i never expected Sam to talk of Mew. That band is so underrated. Blowed my mind
Being a vocalist and instrumentalist myself (nowhere close to the caliber these guys are lol) listening Architects always blows my fucking lid. The musicality of these guys is on a completely other level, but the vocals that sam has are seriously on another level and i haven’t seen anyone who really matched it except Noah from Bad Omens who is extremely talented in his own right. Besides that, their music has gotten me through an exorbitantly difficult time in my life recently. I discovered while driving home one day, in the middle of a big move to a completely different city away from my hometown, i was on UA-cam listening to a ‘my mix’ playlist and suddenly Doomsday comes on. My mind was completely blown.
Love the album, love this interview. Love that they are having a good time in the studio and on stage!
I think everyone who was immediately judgmental of the record should watch this interview. It would really set the perspective in their direction of the new sound.
Disagree bro. This interview was incredible, and the album is still mid. Love Sam, just not enjoying this album
Cool interview for sure. Album still sounds like buttrock tho, sadly
@@bliksemvis No one knows what buttrock is, that's the sad thing about this.
@@mattcubed9658 people assume radio rock= butt rock sadly
@@mosescandjent665 yeah but r/metalcore in particular seems to not understand that is is subjective like i really like this album doesnt mean others have too i think those ppl would be more understanding
I’ve never seen an interview with Sam, although I’ve been following architects for a couple of years now. The dude is super likable, I don’t know why I thought he’d be more pretentious. Nic and Sam should do a metal podcast.
Should check him out on the Downbeat Podcast he's so fuckin hilarious and human I love it
Sam just being the best person on earth like it‘s no big deal. Love architects! Started the journey 10 years ago. So now I have two things to celebrate ❤️
Two of my absolute FAVES blessing us with an interview? Dis tew much😭🙌💖
Shout-out to Nath & Johnny 🤘
Great interview btw, Sam is a legend.
I got into metal listening to the song "Animals" on BBC radio. It was new for me and I'm stand here.
it is about time our Boi Nik did one the probably most requested lead singers to do an interview for a very long time on his twitch/clips channel awesome dude!!!
i have never been able to sit through a full interview until this
Thanks whoever mod put this one together. Totally worth the "subscribes" and awesome conversations
We need to see the song reactions with Sam!
brilliant interview, fair play :) love you both
What I'd give to have Sam Carter watch me react to his music and walk me through it. This is such a great interview.
Love this interview.
Nik nocturnal thank you for what you do.
Sam Carter and all the boys in architects thank you for your art. I personally love every bit of it.
Keep having fun and putting out kick ass music as you see fit, because you guys are the professionals 🤘🤘I’m here for it
Sam is awesome! I've always wanted to know how he's been feeling since Tom.
I think when bands change, we actually don't know what emotions they are suppose to generate at first and it's unsettling. But sometimes, you listen to it with another mindset and everything make sens. I like when band change, we should all try to move forward in life, I think band evolving is an opportunity for us to change a bit, I know it's ''just'' music, but there is sometimes alot to unpack in music.
I've been listening to the album quite a few time and I feel like there's a strong "royal blood" vibe to it.
Somewhat interesting 🤔
I just love Sam, hes such a wholesome person and I love the Interviews both this one and the one with Johnny and Nath
Good to see you again Pointdexter! Be expecting you in Daredevil: Born Again
Sam is just one beautiful person! And to have a band like Architects that are not afraid to have fun doing music can only lead to greatness! That's what I like about this band! The real question is, when will we get some Beatles reaction by Nik? One should really be introduced to Beatles at least once!
I remember seeing them at warped when daybreaker came out and they deserve nothing but success.
Sam looks so happy, it’ll take time for the new record to grow on me but as long as the boys are in a good place, I’m good :)
This is to Sam who said: I could go on with reason why the Beatles are the best band.... Me - Okay bruh pop off, in relation to personalized meanings I agree my dad listened to them and I grew up on them and im a metalhead and I will agree and he died in 2014... his music is what got me to this point in my life. Sam, you are such a good guy, your bands music is amazing and listening to this made me feel better. So thank you to Nik for interviewing him and for Sam being here and being a crucial part of my musical history..
all I care about is that the BAND loves playing the music they make. As long as they enjoy it, and you can tell, then ill enjoy it. I love architects and their energy. amazing people.
Hey Nik.
I love you. An I love what you do. I love the content you make. An I always look forward to your uploads. You're doing amazing. 🤘
I'm personally still in the crowd of loving pre 2018 architects
I don't necessarily hate the new stuff
But I do yearn for the day I hear a modern day Gone With The Wind
I hope Ryan will be the same story as Adam and Josh (ie, start as a touring member and then be a full member on the next album)
Haha Sam is so down to earth his words speak volumes thier are people out there who are going through shit and I've recently round architects and thier music is awesome and I love it :)
Tbh not really a big fan of the last two albums because of how much I love the old Architects since I was a kid... I still jam to the old albums and I thank Architects for the music... it might be generic for most fans but I am sucker for such songs...but at the same time happy that they're doing what they love but coming from someone who is like neutral and open about what they put out but is it just me or the song writing and everything sounds so similar that it is hard to differentiate the songs in this album especially... which is like really harsh comment to make but that's how I felt listening to the whole album.
I love Sam and Architects. I’ve been following them since Hollow Crown, and I’ve loved everything they’ve released over the years. Metal elitists are the fucking worst. A plague to the scene tbh. Keep killing it dudes ya’ll are amazing
i really interest in the band's evolution its the thing of all of this!
Something about "tear gas". Every time I hear it, I get reminded of Rammstein. Like a mix between Sonne and Radio.
I love how he compares bleghs comeback with Ronaldo being back at Man U 😂❤👏🏻
Legends. The two of you.
Sam... your amazing man!!! we love you and Nik.. keep killing it bro!@
I loved when Sam was talking about people buying each other an album. Someone in a comment section bought me Vicious World t shirt bundle when MCMB dropped that. So grateful.
In Dying is Absolutely Safe, the line about Angels with Anhedonia helped me figure out why I haven’t been myself the last few years…I have anhedonia lol.
Be Very Afraid's breakdown is so fucking heavy, and I love it.
We love Architects! The new album is amazing!
Definitely a bop!
'Phrost
I love they fact that Architects has given me some of the most loved songs by using the "What's that!!? I don't know how i feel!!?" Because if i Say those two things, i 100% sure i would like to get some lyrics tattoed on me somehow, someday.
Taking Sam's advice - Love you Nik!
Sam mentioning Mew, makes me a proud Dane 🤘🏻🇩🇰
ronaldo brought the return of the blegh lmaoo
I'm happy to see that they're happy. All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us got me through some tough times. I don't really vibe with the newer stuff but that's ok. Older I get the more I realize people change as life moves forward. I still remember being irate when KoRn went in a different direction. Then many other bands did the same. Bring me the Horizon, Parkway Drive, etc. It made me so sad but truth is we can't all be angry forever. If you like the new stuff, great, otherwise hang on for a bit. There'll be another Architects or PWD or BMTH that comes along and blows our minds once again.
I hope Sam reads these comments…much love man ❤️🤟
Great Band Great Guys
I like the new album 😀
wholesom chat, noicee to see
The legend !
One Love , One Architects! also, 1 love, 1 United !)))
Sam is honestly the most wholesome person in metal Rn
Potential foreshadowing to Architects album 11 right here “The Coolest People Are Kind” calling it now.
Next interview with Sam’s dad, please?
i expected the boys to have fun in the new album and boy have fun they did. i love that Sam doesn't hold anything back. he's such a genuine, loving & caring person through and through and seeing some people on the internet shitting on the album is understandable but only to an extent, like you can not like or even hate something but don't attack people personally just because you don't like it. there are thousands of songs out there & you're not being held hostage to listen to only Architects your whole life. go listen to other bands, find new colours in the spectrum & broaden your music taste. tbh i don't like Architects' new album that much compared to ones that came before it but i wasn't disappointed because i felt like it's only about time for these guys to finally have fun and let themselves loose. try out everything that makes them feel happy, joyful about writing music. Holy Hell will always be my favourite but The Classic Symptoms of A Broken Spirit will always be that album where i think that they've finally got over their trauma, sat down, had fun, be themselves and wrote songs with the biggest smiles they've ever got
The kings of BLEGH!
Awesome, Nik! Will you react to any of FFAK’s new songs on UA-cam? I hope you do!! :D
Btw “Eyes Roll Back” is the heaviest and even has a guttural… it’s basically deathcore.
He did that on stream with Ryan Kirby.
the first time I discovered Architects, is when I heard Thereafter and Royal beggars. The song Animal, blew my fucking mind, it had a very strong nine inch nails vibe throughout the whole song. I legit hear that industrial sound. I thought to myself, what if Nine Inch Nails went Metalcore. And BLAM, Architects is the perfect description
Man Sam carter is the most humble person on this planet a king among men ❤️
Sam is such a nice guy
I love Sam Carter so much
