Thank you!!! I watched at least 10 videos on replacing these specific brakes before I found yours. You made the ONLY video that accurately explains how to install those retainer clips. Subscribed and liked!!! Thanks again!
This is exactly why I do it. I want to fill in those gaps to make it easy for people. I appreciate it mate.
Having watched the rear brakes being done I am following along better and understanding this video pretty good. :-) These videos make me wonder if my mechanic is doing all these proper necessary steps when they do my work? Positioning those springs looked like precision surgical talent needed! Great video Jay Cee! You be a serious mechanic!!
Exactly! I wonder the same. As I learn more and more about cars, even if I have the money to pay for service, it makes me wonder if they spend the time for the attention to detail aspects. Thanks Ken!
@@JayCeeMax Jay Cee, we both know the shops skip and scrimp when they can. That is why people want to see the used parts and a detailed bill. I am bringing my car with me if I visit. I expect you to do the right thing and do my tune-up for free as an original subscriber. :-)

good job, man! are you still alive?? haha kidding ;-) are you a pro mechanic or just hobby?
Si, si. I am alive. Uploading every car vlog I have while this Corona makes itself comfortable in our world. I am a professional mechanic in execution only. But overall, yes. It's just a hobby.
Thank you Max!
@@JayCeeMax I asked because I was wondering if your car can still stop ;-) sto scherzando! Are you on Telegram, FB or something? Ciao bello!
@@MaxRiley LOL. Yes. The car stops beautifully fratello. I am happy I save a lot of money!
No. Unfortunately I don't do FB. Better peace of mind that way. Ciao ciao
@@JayCeeMax I agree with you on FB. Stai bene bro!
Best to take the brake fluid cap off when you wind the calipers back in case someone has topped the (brake) fluid off. As the caliper goes in, because of brake wear, the level drops. If someone has (foolishly) topped it off (brake fluid), it can bust the seals in the master cylinder. A breaker bar with a Telescopic handle is nice as well. Get that perfect length needed. 😀
You are absolutely correct in regards to taking off the brake fluid reservoir cap in advance. I used to take off the cap when I used to wind the calipers back with a c-clamp and just regular pliers as tools. But since I finally got my trusty wind-back tool I was like, 'what the heck. I got this.' lol So yeah. You're right though.
But yes. I checked the reservoir prior to starting and the level was just right. It wasn't at the brim and the DOT 3 was very clean.
Thanks for watching these cars videos. 🤩
Jay Cee Max another trick you can show is the double wrench method, for the caliper brackets. It can generate an incredible amount of force. If one doesn’t have an impact. It will loosen those bolts with ease.
@@thundabawlt8547 Hmm. Great suggestion Thunda Bawlt. I never thought of that. Excellent feedback!
Why new rotors. Old can be cleened and resurfaced on lathe. Good video.
Price Of doing that has increased.
Jay Cee!!!

PUNTAhan kita malapit lang tayo hahahaah
Thanks for watching my car videos Aileen!
Too much grease on the back of the pad. Grease on the back off the pad is not needed.
I was waiting for this comment. Wrong.
Per the official 2009 Lincoln mkS WORKSHOP MANUAL it states:
"NOTE: If installing new brake pads, make sure to install all new hardware and specified lubricant (8U7Z-19A506-A 'Molykote M77 Paste Grease Lubricant Lube Silicone Oil + Moly MoS2') supplied with the brake pad kit. Refer to the brake pad instruction sheet when applying lubricant."
"Apply equal amounts of specified lubricant to the brake caliper-to-brake pad contact points as directed . Install the brake pads to the brake caliper anchor plate."
Also, like i mentioned in the video, it won't hurt anything to grease the parts of the back of the pad the caliper is not touching Once that uncovered section dries, it is nothing more than lipstick on an exposed backing plate of the pad. I would rather it look like lipstick covering the backing plate than a brown and crusty mess when the backing plate gets old.
Thanks for your comment either way mate.
@@JayCeeMax didn't say it hurts it. It's a lot of grease for the no contact points. If grease get o the rotor, praying it doesn't. You will have bigger problems. Contact points yes, all over the back off the pads no! Good day sir.
@@blockhuggerdoeboy357 I understand that and my reasoning up above is why I did it. No worries mate. I made sure it did not contact the rotor. I know that's bad and was super careful. Cheers.
