My heart almost stop
Same
It was so powerful. It's how I discovered gary and I haven't looked back since
The whole album is a masterpiece. Gary Numan at his creative peak. There isn't a weak track on the whole album. This song is incredibly powerful. Simply brilliant.
how good is Ade Fenton bringing these to life
Master piece amazing beauty is here
@Fitness Programming 101 hello I doubt it,Gary goes from strength to strength 💪 your a strong guy as well respect.
It's just a sequence of synthed sounds programmed together to a synthed beat. Definitely nothing special 🤔 ANY competent computer programmer could create this stuff.
@Fitness Programming 101 Apart from Are Friends Electric. Cars and I am Ruin, he was never up hill.
I FEEL THE FUTURE ....SPEAKERS ARE MOVING !!!!!...
We live in a windswept hell
Where dust and death are neighbors
We hide in a perfect storm
Not even God remembers
We run from the wars of man
From everything you are and will be
We are invisible
We are the dead Ghost Nation
When the sky came down
When the sun went dark
When the night was torn
And we heard god laugh
When the righteous came
And they cleansed our sins
Have you ever seen death
With your own eyes?
We live in the great unfound
Where thought and ghosts still wander
We drift on drifting sand
Where horrors of a past still linger
We hide from the world of man
From the cruelty that defines you
We are the wind that cries
We are the dead Ghost Nation
When the sky came down
When the sun went dark
When the night was torn
And we heard god laugh
When the righteous came
And they cleansed our sins
Have you ever seen God
With your own eyes?
We are embers in the flame
We are whispers in God's name
We're the heat that burns your skin
We're the cold that lets pain in
We're the wind that blinds your eyes
We're the shame that haunts your lies
We're the nightmare when you sleep
We're the guilt that old men keep
When the sky came down
When the sun went dark
When the night was torn
And we heard God laugh
When the righteous came
And they cleansed our sins
Have you ever seen me
With your own eyes?
PureSplinterRising . Think its " when the night was torn " , not "was called".
Oh damn, you're right,, thanks :P
Thanks for posting the lyrics, which are so essential to the experience that is Numan
Its actually " where dust and death are neighbours ".
Thanks for lyrics & editing!
Only thing better is a lyric video with cool graphics. I picture Frankenstein's Castle in this song.
So brilliant how this guy turned around his career from the early 90s. Hes a damn credit to the electronic music world
Gary never had problems it was all performance art to "crash" his commercial success and rise as a proper ARTIST without the corporate control
jonh, from the 80`s.
I think he's a credit to ALL music (:

Been enjoying this guy since 1979!
So have I. I was 11 years old when I saw him in Philadelphia on the Telekon-leg of the Pleasure Principle tour. That was December of 1980. I plan to see him in New Orleans in December. 1st time in 37 years. Jimmy Carter was president when I saw him last. Should have seen him on the 30th Replicas Tour.
yup
Love GARY since 1979 and still love him!!!
At least there are a few of us here. I get that it was used in a show, but the habit of calling that out just confuses the heck out of me. Gonna be seeing him again this september. Two years in a row, I hope he keeps at it.
Same here when I was 9
This song reminds me of Covid-19 and the coming of a new age. It has come. Let us come together, separately as ONE. And join. Thank you Mr. Gary Numan, for all these years of real art, music, the reach.
Ending of HTGAWM S4 E14, amazing! Great song for a great serie
me too
that episode brought me here
I literally hat goosebumps when thins song came in at the ending of GTFAWM S4 E14...
actually series called GTAFMSRHALRETD
Me too when Laurel banged her mom
I've been a fan since 1979 I'm 62 and still rocking ,What a masterpiece this Album is wish I could get to a concert .There's life in the old dog yet !!!!!
seen him 2x's in the past 5 yrs (Pleasure Principle anniversary tour and this past Sept), each was fantastic, and also a fan since the 70's, find a way to go!!! you will be impressed
And "the old dog" still barks beautiful and intense music.
I’m seeing him Sunday for the third time. I’m buzzing.
Saw him in Leeds about a month ago he was brilliant better than ever try to get to a gig you won't regret it
Savage expands globally embracing Arabic and eastern themes and melodies. Another groundbreaking futuristic masterpiece album where the West meets the Islamic world and beyond. Respect to pioneer Gary Numan
These videos are beautiful too!
Wish I could give this a thousand likes. This is his best ever and I am a fan from the Tubeway Army days. His concert in November was amazing and the light display to go with this song were astonishing. The guy is beyond amazing.
Best album I've heard in two years from anyone.
I'm getting obsessed with this song. Amazing. Also great voice.
Dragonfly same man
Last 2 albums have been amazing.
Rediscovered Gary Numan and this album by accident. Can't stop listening to it. Re-invented to perfection.
It’s a song for 2020 ghost nation remember them RIP 🖤
Yes this along with "it all began with you " are not only the best tracks on the album , but some of his best of all time. I love the little grunt of the machine after the "keep" echo.
Yes.....that and the extended pause before "keep". Gary is the master of the rest......he knows when to pause and precisely how long to do it.......or perhaps it is Gary and Abe working together......absolute mathematical brilliance displayed in his music....his music is true art....he is one of the greatest artists of his generation....his canvas is the air which surrounds your speaker
I love Gary Numan. No doubt one of my many inspirations.
Love the mixed duet with daughter haunting waves after waves of bliss and extacy keep going up my back, when an artist has early success it can give way to experiment and boundaries pushing pure ahead of time genius. And not just one good song it started with two I had to listen to daily now it's five faves I love his of hits me film exc.
Why this wasn't a bond theme I'll never know. Listening since 1979 when I was 9 years old. D.H
OMG - Gary Numan doing a Bond Theme - epic - I have goose-pimples just thinking about it.
@@PogLewis I still play the original album I bought when I was 9 years old in 1979 (replicas that is).
Telekon is my favourite I think. Although I did like "dance" aswell.
Regards
Dave

Fantastic track and album, this guy just gets better with age. A hero since 1979.
Saw him at Thunderbird last night in Pittsburgh. My wife has been converted. She's a fan now.
A very influential artist in his very own right, his latest albums are as good as his first just more accomplished by experience no doubt.
Thanks Gary...
always ahead of himself
Hard core Gary Numan fans here??i know I'm one
Oh God yeah...
Damn right! o7
Not sure if I'm "hard core." He basically saved my life in the early 80s. I don't like all of his stuff, but I listen to it- never saw him live- not a concert guy. Been known to dress like him on Halloween, read all of the biographies (that I know of), covers, tributes. Still play "Cars" when we get new cars (G35x, FXT, X5: great cars.) But the guy has had SUCH an influence on me! :-)
Since 1979.
@@Conn30Mtenor Describe hardcore?
I really like him, but just how hardcore is loving him to you?
I am so happy you are still making music. THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Gary, Gary... life wouldn't make any sense without you.
Yes, Mr. Numan. You've done it. Great work!
Can't remember the last time I was this excited for an album to release..
great one !!
Gary Numan music fills my heart with Joy.
"Have you ever seen death, With you own eyes?" Yeah. I have.
My late fiance. I found her dead on my bathroom floor, but I tried to revive her. October 2021.
At 32 at the time, She was getting into this album so hard, she went looking into Gary Numan's past. She loved every second of it, like me.
I will miss her.
Much love and respect to you, Gary. Long time fan.
Gary's work is phenomenal.
This album has it, dark and cool in the best way -- what a comeback.
This is a change of style and a tapestry of sound finesse. Love the art direction too.
Wow, what an amazing song
Numan... you have done it again! is there no end to your talent? You just get better and better.
I'm completely speechless. This track is absolutely amazing! It contains everything that I absolutely love!
Brilliant. Of course it was always going to be
Splinter was an unbeatable album..then Savage came along. Gary Numan never fails to blow me away. Patiently awaiting the arrival of the album on CD, tape and record.
Marley R he's the best!
Gart numan and the killers what a soundtrack that would be
@@scottmcmanus1873 there is alot of depechemode in his music
Michael holt gary numan was around 2 years before depeche mode had even formed.
Masterpiece.
GN has always been ahead of his time...
Wow!! The perfect opener!!! Live that song kills my ears!!!
"i'll go outside if you look the other way"....oops, wrong song. i like that gary still hits the higher notes and sounds the same as nineteen-eighty DOING it.
AHHHHHH! I fkkn love this guy. His voice is so full. I can't explain it, but damn am I in love with it. ♡
I was today years old when I learned this guy sang “ In Cars”. 🤯 What an amazing artist.
yup. this guy is Cars! 1981 bought album for that song, ended up liking the other tunes on it almost as much
Horrors of the past still linger that's a bloody amazing words
The edge of a boogaloo midyear 2020 brought me here...and I am never leaving.
This song grows and grows out of proportion. Amazing track. The most exhilarating opening song to any album? Perhaps?
It's insane live. You should check it out if you get the chance. It shook me to the core.
OMG this is absolutely amazing. Best tack of the album imo. Can't wait to see it live in Brighton!
How To Get Away With Murder brought me here! What an amazing song!
My favorite track from the album! It will be so EPIC live! You and Ade did an amazing job. You've topped Splinter and I didn't think that was possible! Well done guys! Can't wait to rock out to these on tour!
It was epic live! It all was. You will love it.
Yes it was.
His ADE show was one of the best concerts I have EVER attended!

The Concert opener....what an amazing track!
Lovely
1:35 amazing sound.
Great song................I love driving to it !
Got to see him live, around the time of the release of Splinter, and what an amazing show, in an old dance hall that sang with the music.....you could feel it through the soles of your feet. One of the best concerts of my life so far.
This song was the perfect ending to that episode of How to get away with murder that we're all clearly here for
What's how to get away with murder? (Presumably one of those big buget american series that ain't bad but takes up too many hours of your life to get to the end?!) I'm here to see what Numan's been up to lately as my daughter has pinched me old "are friends electric" single!
Numan looks like he's auditioning for Dune in the album cover!
Apologies for rambling, good day to you x
Wow like everyone else I have been a fan since 1979. I have rediscovered Gary Numan all over again and I truly love his new stuff. Way to go Gary keep on keeping on.
yet another fantasic album all the way from tubeway army ..this guy never stops why we love the NUMAN!!! GO GN DONT STOP !!

Legend I'm on your side gary
love it 💎
Hope this note gets to you sir..Thank you for all of your music I was 15 when I first saw you on television and I said this is the voice for the outcasts and misunderstood you are sir an X men. I used to collect comic books up till 1992. Awesome music thanks...I got divorced in 2018 and your old songs where there to greet me and remained me you got to fall so you can get up again...I pray to God you always have a voice for us to hear...I'm not religious am just a believer of truth the bible
This is beautiful perfection
This is my new favourite song ever
My favorite track.
Another cracking track!
Very great!!
What a Great Song.
AMAZING
Gary, you're the bomb xxx
I only listened to a few of his songs over the years but my brother pointed me to his new album and wow every song is gold a can't stop listening to it
Fantastic song lovely layers 👌🏻👽💙
Yo lo único que conocía de Gary era “Cars” y le perdí la pista, y revisando he visto que ha crecido musicalmente y mantiene su buena voz…. Sencillamente me encanta… se gano una fan más 🙂🙂
I listened to him for many years but then didn't for many years. Now I have discovered I am Ruin, I am Dust and now this. I really like the production, being a DJ I have very decent headphones and the panning and tweaking that is done on the mastering on these new tracks is wicked!!!! All my older collection of him is all on vinyl. This is crystal clear, still has the dark edge which is amazing
As per usual from Gary. Another anthem of songs. Which with effort from the listener will become another all time favourite album for the audience.... subtle, with his unmistakable sound. Pure Newman. Only discerning listeners apply... genius...
great album !
