Does the genius ever stop? Gary Numan NEVER disappoints! Everything I listen to is another gem.
Some things getting even better with age. This is big!
This is VNV Nation big.
"Bed Of Thorns"
I'm waiting in the dark
Waiting for a dark light
To show me the way
I'm hiding from the world
Trapped by my ambition
Drowning in my fear
You're welcome to stand in my place
You're welcome to feel what I feel
You're welcome to live my life
You're welcome to sleep in my bed of thorns
I'm walking through the dust
Pulling out splinters
Of things that never last
I'm easily forgotten
There is always someone
Better than the past
You're welcome to stand in my place
You're welcome to feel what I feel
You're welcome to live my life
You're welcome to sleep in my bed of thorns
You're welcome
You're welcome
You're welcome
You're welcome
This album is like he has spent a week in my head .
Gary, you're new album has touched on my feelings and emotions that even I have difficulty understanding.
Thankyou.
Thank fuck I am autistic, and therefore not plagued by emotion.
Poor others with emotional baggage.
What's the difference between feelings and emotions?
@@F.o.s.t.e.r. feelings that you have that dont categorize well under one of the main emotion categories like disgust, surprise, anger, and sadness, etc.
@Steven Turner Indeed! Synonyms, indeed. Having taken a mere 3 credit-hour course covering the The Theories of Emotion, and another such course covering Theories of Motivation, I can validate everything you have written in your comment. ToE: interesting course. Some posit that we have a mere ten emotions and with other theorists, that number grows into a few dozen. What is that to say - communicate? Trivia in the form of a question: have you noticed - e(motion) > motivation. Put differently, how we feel (your deduction) is how we move through life … and … how we move through life is contingent upon how we feel (emote).
Writing a song about not really wanting to write songs. And then it's a good song. Yep, that's our Gary. 😆 ❤️
This is seriously the best album he's done since at least the mid '80s.
I disagree, Splinter and Pure are great albums too
Then check out the albums Pure, Jagged and Exile. These prove he didn't spend the 90s sitting on his duff. They rock hard. Hard.
splinter is way better
Nice to see artists that still make incredibly meaningful
work.
LONG TIME SINCE I FELT LIKE THIS. THANK YOU MR. NUMAN! THIS SONG HAS SHOWN ME I CAN STILL LOVE. LOVE AND DANCE ALL AT ONCE. THE GREATEST FEELING EVER!
Pure - Best album I have heard in 20 years. A breath of fresh air. Genius..
I agree this is fresh and amazing. I think in 20 years there are some NIN and Radiohead albums that stand out for me too.
I just saw him again last night here in denver. I can only hope to be half as cool as him when im 60
HARD TO LOOK SO COOL WHEN YOU LIVE WHERE IT RAINS ALL THE TIME OR MOSTLY ALL THE TIME ..HEEHEE LOL
Never compare yourself with anyone. We tend to compare our inner worst with others public bests and shortchanging ourselves. I do magic and always compared myself with them. Never good enough.
But I found out it’s NOT HOW WELL I DID IT
IT
IT was my flavor and SEASONINGS I added to make it my way. Not better or worse but how you touched it
This is literally album of the year amazing work
True musical art indeed❤😊
You’re welcome... to feel what I feel
You’re welcome... to stand in my place
Thank You , Gary Numan for your extraordinary vision and talent !
Masterpiece is exactly what this is, Trent. This record is on a level of epicness (is that a word?) with Wilson/PT's Fear Of a Blank Planet, and (dare I say it), records like The Wall. The cohesion, the performance, the MESSAGE is on a level never achieved by many, many artists over their entire careers. I've been with Gary since 1978, and have listened as he has changed and evolved. But unlike so many artists that evolve into something unrecognizable, Gary has truly evolved into his true and most recognizable self. His masterful blend of then and now on this recording brings me gooseflesh, each and every time I listen and allow him to put me into his world. Gary truly is a master and has achieved a new level with this record. I can't wait for the follow-up.
Easily one of the best Numan albums of all
Excellent album! This is really masterpiece.
trent davis Gary Numan has not ceased to amaze me for near 42yrs! I idolize this man, h8s voice, his music, his looks! I LOVE GARY NUMAN!
Gary Numan is the most influential tech musician and most talented singer to have ever graced us mere humans with his GENIUS. I am a NUMANOID... I have been for 41yrs and will be till the day I DIE
Man. I'm into this. I'm rediscovering GN. I loved his early work. We all did in the 80's. but he's matured and really inspired now it seems. One of the few artists who really do get better with age
Just when you thought Gary Numan couldn't get any better he goes and puts out this album. pure is a masterpiece No Doubt but this album stands Toe to Toe. in many ways it completely eclipse that album. It's a true masterpiece in its own right. The multi-layered soundscapes he creates are absolutely mesmerizing. Savage is Truly his best Industrial album so far.
I FUCKING LOVE THIS SONG. I love the new Gary Numan. The man has evolved and it's so becoming and wonderful. Family life clearly agrees with him. LOVE THIS WHOLE ALBUM. So badly want to see it live AGAIN.
Saw him at the Royal Albert Hall last week complete with orchestra. Still can't quite believe the exhilarating experience it was. Concert of my lifetime and I have seen a lot of gigs! Savage is one of my favourite albums.
I just saw Gary in Philadelphia (PA) and it was freaking fantastic! This song was great ..I keep listening to it. The show was at a smaller venue so I was up close and thrilled 💯 He did a great mix of old and new material 👍🏻💖
I know Pure was and still is masterpiece.. However I stand firm that this album is the level of Pure.. what makes it even more amazing in my eyes are the Oriental themes and overall idea and message of this album. It feels like a musical journey.
Gary, please stay safe and strong and continue to bless us with your magnificence in the years to come!
Pure is a classic. A masterpiece.
This album has eclipsed it. I can stand toe-to-toe with that Masterpiece easily. production, the instrumentation, the multi-layered soundscapes he creates are second to none and are truly mesmerizing. Just when you thought it couldn't get any better
Splinter is even better
As a person who's been collecting and converting albums to digital like I have the last few decades (to the point that one has multiple-terabyte HD's with just music!) I can literally count on one hand (maybe one and a half if in the right mood) the number of artists and albums I can play all day long on repeat and not tire of them.
Way to go, Gary, you've made the short list!
Is Love's Forever Changes on that list, by any chance?
Love how this track has matured since 2017.
I saw Gary Numan in 1980, on the Telekon-leg of the Pleasure Principle tour. If you are new to Gary, listen to Replicas, The Pleasure Principle, and Telekon. I was 11 years old when I saw that early show in Philadelphia. His latest stuff is quite good, but listen to the earlier stuff that I listed for a good feel.
I was there too.
Back to his sublime best...vintage numan!!Hairs on the back of my neck stand up once again .....
I actually think that its been decades since I have the same feeling of hair on the back of neck from any album but this is epic stuff since telekon
Isn't that the truth. Hair standing up is my indicator of a desert island, and so is me needing a cigarette after (and I don't smoke).
This record is epic.
How lucky are we Gary NUMAN fans hey?! Gotta feel sorry for the rest...
Awesome song awesome album
I've never related to a song this strongly, pretty much word for word
Some have the ears to hear. If that’s you then breathe ❤ ❤ it’s that’s simple.
I loved the demo, but the final version is so epic!
This song goes so hard.
Fantastische Musik-Gary der Meister 🎉
Thank you Gary!
This guy. This guy since the 70s. Omg.
My fandom has been truly reignited. Loved the show!
Love this song
An amazing album from a true legand the quality of every song is astonishing.
Wait a minute... is it me or does this sound straight out of a TYPE O NEGATIVE album? Reminds me so much of that band! Love it!
This seriously sounds like 80s Numan, and it's SO FREAKING GOOD. I couldn't possibly be more excited to see him play in Minneapolis in a few days!
AMAZING! WOW! Thank you Mr. Numan. Very Deep & Insightful and so very NOW! Peace & Health. Be safe & well.
I'm becoming your fan
majestic
I saw Gary last March ... Every song was executed brilliantly but THIS...... really stuck in my head 💖💖💖💖💖 fantastic show Gary and bandmates! Worth going to see them... if you haven't, please do, you won't be disappointed 💯 was a small venue in Philadelphia which made it up close and personal ... Great effects when this song started 💖
Stunning track to be sure.
Brilliant awesome numan at his best
Amazing...Saw this live in Philadelphia Wednesday...GREAT CONCERT

Pat is a guy. Hope you didn't frisk him first officer. 🤔
This is so good!
Stunning
Mach weiter so. Ich mag deine Musik!
Lass Dich nicht beirren.
Das geht voll in Ordnung.
THX!
omG love it. reminds me of Type 0 Negative style so much
Type O Neg, excellent band
Yes, it has that 90s "goth" feel... also Paradise Lost from "One second" and a bit of Moonspell from "sin/pecado". Probably both were in a way inspired by Gary anyway ;)
Yes this! Reminds me of Type O Negative´s album " October Rust" !
Damn. This is awesome.
Amazing!!!!!
Absolutely stunning.
I love his music have done since 1979 and can relate to his music .he helps me wen in the dark side x
Great with a glass of red 🍷
#1979 big fan but you amaze me how you just get better
Beautiful song a favourite of mine 💙👌🏻👽
I am walking through the dust

pulling out splinters
from my summit
of thing that don't never last
and we try to preserve passion
I need this CD for car time
Me gusta demasido ...👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
I love this! Have been waiting since hearing the demo..and definitely worth the wait. I can't decide which song on this album I like the best. They are all incredible. (My two year old daughter can now sing My name Is Ruin I have played it so much! lol)
Awesome
So great !!! THX!!!
Awesome!
So good!
....very very good !!!
Magnifique!!!!!!
fantastic
Nice 🙂👍
This is by far the track that i prefer of the whole album.
Sounds like the standout track from Savage.
Amo as músicas de Gary Numan
I think He's
Quite Amazing
Chills
Garys new album is due out in May....and i cannot wait, also I do hope that Gary completes his book of fiction about the man called Ruin
....
S:SFABW is one of the best rock albums in the past 10 years
❤
The only thing better than studio recorded Gary Numan, is live Gary Numan.
Gary numan's Holy Trinity is
Pure: 2000
Splinter: 2013
Savage: 2017
In that order. Not by choice. Each one is progressively better and better. The album pure perfected his industrial sound and it's only been magic sense. I'm not ignoring the ones he put out in between these albums. They are amazing as well in my opinion this is the Holy Trinity of industrial Rock Gary Numan
I know Garys the OG but he really tapped into his inner Peter Steele for this one.
Essa música me leva pra outra dimensão... ☮
Hes a fucking genius ❤
This song would be great in the movie Blade Runner
I believe it was featured in the film "Ghost in the shell"
Always been good however, Gary just gets better and better.
Another great song ,I like this finished version far better than the earlier version....
steve webb
nah see I like the original with the Gregorian Chant Synth effects he used but don't get me wrong this one is brilliant too :)
Ryan Hunter I liked the other version too ,but this one has a few extra things going on ,but that just shows Numan can take an already good track and make it better...
if anyone can DO "ME" better than ME !! AND have as much fun....come on down!
What is he wearing? It looks really cool!
Anyone else think parts of this sound a bit like Cry The Clock Said?
great one !!!
...my next tune is : "Slowcar To China"
If you like this, try Dead Can Dance: Anastasis
You Sir are a God. I think you know is though. Cheers \m/
Does anyone know what kind of synth preset he's using around the 1:58 - 2:00 mark? The trebly kind of tropical lead sound?
Numan fait la même chanson depuis dix ans...
Love and hate.Same thing.Where is excistance in a screaming. An intruder in a life we don't know. Some give.Mr Numann bring to me a favour of words that speak of mystism beyond my known.?
Where did the "e" come from in "Thornes"? That is not the album title of this song.
Sure wish whoever runs this channel could actually spell the title of this song correctly :) "Thornes"?
