REAR DIFFERENTIAL FLUID CHANGE - BMW 530i E60

This is a short DIY tutorial on how to change the fluid in the rear differential of your BMW E60 5 series.
Note, that you need a specific fluid for your particular differential. Look it up in your owners manual or online.
For example, my "simple" diff takes 75W-90 GL5 fluid, but the limited slip diff needs 75W-140. So it actually matters what you put in. I would stick with trusted manufacturers.
BMW says the fluid lasts a lifetime of the car, but you should change it at lease every 50K km.
The good thing about this job is, that you don´t need to jack the car up. It is doable with the car on the ground. It all takes about an hour.

I kinda did... Proper torque is 60 Nm.

Hmmm.. would a 2008 528xi have rear differential? I thought it would only have the transfer case for the 4WD.

Yes, it would. You can have a look to ve sure. It's easy to spot even with the car not lifted.
