- A beautiful day for a trip up to the cabin. Winter is here, but only kind of as the weather has been so nice! Its great to still spend some time up at the cabin from time to time.
I am working hard at the next log home video and it is going to be the biggest one yet!

I have the pleasure of sharing my passions for the wilderness, building, fixing and all other things interesting with my great group of UA-cam friends.
I have lived offgrid in the bush for over 3 years, but now I am moving to the next chapter in my life and am building a big log home as my next place to live. It is going to be an incredible journey building my own home. I am using logs I harvested myself and plan to do most of the work by myself. This project will be the main focus of my channel, with many other adventures along the way im sure!

I'm Dave from northern Alaska where i have watched you off and on since you were a teenager. I am 73 which I guess would be your grandpa's age. I have been trapping in Alaska for a little over 50 years and will continue to do so while I have breath. I hope you have a nice Christmas with your family. Be safe.
Dave, my Grandfather told me when I was 18 “if I were you, I’d sell everything I own and move to Alaska and hunt, fish and trap the rest of my life.” Glad somebody is living out there like he wanted to!

I love my Dodgers and my Chevy truck best 4 by fours you could ever own all the parts interchange with Chevy's and Dodgers the old ones got good running gear like Fords rust up sees up and are hard to work on when I was working in an auto wrecker I was shop foreman and there's few vehicles I would not touch and give them to the all the other mechanics to strip them down and that was Ford's Volkswagen and Volvo's never touched them except for when I made my own doom buggy just wish I never got rid of my three quarter ton Chevy 4 by 4 changed it all over from automatic to a standard rebuilt it from scratch the cab welded a 1973 Chevy roof onto a 1980 diesel cab because I wanted a quiet cab the Diesel was a rollover spent a lot of years on that truck then I ended up getting tendocitis in both arms from wrenching bump my radar wool on a Toyota 4 by 4 inner fender hit the funny bone found out that it was not that funny years later had to change jobs because my arms never got better still aren't to this day and that was back in the 90s can't control your fingers when there's so much pain when you try to turn nuts they retrain me for a parts person I went back worked in the office at the auto record because he always wanted me in the office and I kept saying no cause he was such a jerk treated his customers like crap then he started making me go out and pull parts which I was not supposed to be doing so I walked up grabbed my toolboxes and said bye to this day I don't like working on cars anymore biggest mistake I ever did was making my hobby into my job I was a paver to operate an engineers paving fell through in this town so I had to do something and when my arms went bad I bought a specialty coffee house ran it for 4 years had fun is mostly all teenagers most adults wanted me to kick the teenagers out but it was the only place the teenagers had to hang out so I said no it ended up going broke because all those teenagers do is buy one or two cups of coffee or a pot of tea and sit there all day because they had couches it was very comfortable place but hey I had fun and I'm sure the teenagers did too one New Year's Eve was shut down the restaurant closed it all up let them sneak in the back door and have a party free computers broke into the arcade machines that I got put in the kitchen and let them play for free all night get drunk if they wanted at least I knew where they all were and they were safe cops came up to the back door and I said no you're not coming in this is my business I went back to partying

Your wise and talented way beyond your years. Your content and editing are getting better and better. I cant wait to see your log home completed... I love that cabin you did such a good job on that love it how you got it like a two story in your bedroom up top you're an amazing kid or man I should say by now very hard working you don't see that much anymore most young people now living off they live off the government because they say why work when the government will pay you here in BC and all on drugs like my son he ended up Having a disability and he had to go on meds and then when He went off his meds went a little crazy then they would lock him up he was a really small skinny boy with the first time he got locked up and they locked him up into a little eight by 8 room basically and all he was allowed to do was eat and read books and he was stuck in that room for almost a year came out of that place probably four times the size of what he was before he went in kind of wrecked his life last year he ended up killing himself at 22 years old keep up the good work stay straight you're going to have a good life and watched your back don't be like me and lift up heavy stuff and try to be a muscle man because you be on pain meds and live with chronic pain the rest of your life I know that's me
