  • Well friends I haven't been too excited to make this video so It took me a long time to finally make it, but its a video I had to make.
Traplines and Inlines Offical Merchandise: traplinesandin...
    Welcome to Traplines and Inlines
I have the pleasure of sharing my passions for the wilderness, building, fixing and all other things interesting with my great group of UA-cam friends.
I have lived offgrid in the bush for over 3 years, but now I am moving to the next chapter in my life and am building a big log home as my next place to live. It is going to be an incredible journey building my own home. I am using logs I harvested myself and plan to do most of the work by myself. This project will be the main focus of my channel, with many other adventures along the way im sure!
    Thank you for watching

I would hook a chain to the deepest damage and hook the other end to a big tree. Put it in reverse and when the slack is taken up it will snatch it back out. this can pull it out enough to put front trim on from a junk yard. At worst you will have a good farm truck. I repaired a vehicle like that and drove it for years more. It’s also fun when the slack is taken up and you are already moving good in reverse! Best of luck with it. I enjoy your channel. It’s deadly.

we had a similar truck that we turned into our farm truck....it never left the farm and we just picked up hay with it or herded cows with it and hell it was never tagged again as long as we had it running so no more problems with making it worthy of the government hassle... but it ran and the 4x4 still worked in winter so we kept it around until it finally died

  • @Shamustodd1

Yep I'm the same way. I drive em, wrench on them and drive them some more. When it finally comes time to put the ol' girl down I look for another just like her. Being poor and having to fix my own stuff taught me a lot and there is no sense going with something different if you don't have to. You already know all the quirks how to fix it and usually after a while have a parts truck or two sitting out back.

Keep it as a trapline truck that you never have to insure. If there is no damage to the mechanical parts slap on a new fender and hood and use the hydraulics on the tractor to rough the rad support before putting one one from a wrecker. If the frame is a little tweaked it's no big deal if it never goes on the road.

Plus the ole girl would have plenty of extra parts and parts you know the condition of as well and that helps, or maybe a deadly Ram Charger body swapped 12 valve build is in the future content for the channel!! Point being even in the most negative situations a positive outcome can become of it if a positive mindset is used!! Words of Wisdom from my Grandfather!!

Well thats certainly a kick in the babymaker. Im sure you will figure it out. Id think you could find a decent donor truck with a blown motor you could swap it over into, but that doesnt help you now. May have to buy what you can afford that keeps you running for now and set it aside until you have the time to dig into it or it will screw up your build of the home and the fix on the truck. You could always make a video with what you want for a donor and how far you will travel and let all of us help you look

I feel your pain. I try and hold a logical outlook on attachment to vehicles. My first car was a 1971 Cougar. It holds a special place in my heart. And I gave that up for 1969 VW Baja Bug. And since then each and every vehicle I''ve own'd has a special place, but I have not let my attachment to them interfere when it's time to let them go. But every time it feels like scraping nails across one's heart. I hope you find a vehicle that you can work on, without a laptop to read what's going on with it.
