This is not pomfret... Pomfret is smooth and not this much broad... It is karp fish... Looks like pomfret... He is very easily cutting.. But the place is so dirty and yakki.. The water is so dirty.... In Dubai so clean fish market as if looks like palace... Such a huge market...

We Bangladeshi know our fish.
That's why we have issues with our neighbors regarding fishing as some countries fisherman incursion into our waters to steal fish.
Even Sri Lanka has the same issues.
Our neighbors live our hilsa fish.
And u know hilsha is the king of kings on the subcontinents especially Bengali houses.
We Bengali eat hilsa all the time.
Even in UK we import it just to eat a hilsa at least once a week.
In UK one decent hilsa with eggs in it costs on average £30 to £40.
Our neighboring countries even in UK come buy from Bengali shops.

Have you been to a fish market in the subcontinent?
If you see the amount of fish that is being cut there you'd be bewildered as it's in the open in the street being cut. Plus that's normal.
When it's in the kitchen they'll be washed and in clean area.
The truth is everything is like that when it's on the street and the people that are selling these fish are very poor as they don't have a building to be doing it. They pay for a stall in the street and the stall keeper ain't going to clean until the end of the day otherwise they'd have to pay someone for all day.
I'm pretty sure you know these are poor countries maybe not poor like 20 years ago but still a developing country. The rules and laws are crap.
But anyway it's up to us to buy and clean once it's in our homes as more than likely you can't just start cooking.
It's not prepackaged like western countries.
Plus even here in the UK when you go wholesale buying fish it's similar just might look cleaner only because the HSE oversees it's maintained.
It wasn't much different here in the UK until the 80's as conditions were similar in the pre 70's.
It won't be like this in another 10 years. Just check back then .
Sorry, this but this is obsurd, longitudnal fillets would have given bone free pieces, but most indian don't eat fish that way ,except Curry nothing goes well
