Thank You for sewing Gertie’s Pattern… I am a beginner Sewist.. and I too end up with floppy issues in that area on her patterns…I will get the Twill Tape & Plastic Boning… I have been trying to sew The BEAUTIFUL LAMOUR DRESS ❤. But every Mock Up I’ve made is a Flop.. I hope to see you Sew More from Gertie 🌷

Aww, thank you so much! 💕 I did a few short films in the past, so I do have a bit of film making experience and editing experience. It's quite long ago already, though, so I loved getting back into it. Yes, I believe, I was even actually reminded of my voice-over when watching your video. 🤔😅 I think most people do it from the right side though (I am not sure why), I prefer to see the seam allowance when I do it. Thanks again for your kind words! 💕

This was very helpful! I have this pattern and I have been afraid to start, I know some basics and have been following the Facebook group for a year… Not quite ready to start a mock up but watching you make the dress gives me a little more confidence

Your dress is lovely. I too have just cut out B6556. I had to do 4 mock-ups of the bodice to get it right. Lower bust darts, lower armholes, reduce back length. It had lots of wrinkles. Hoping the real fabric will now look good.
Thanks! I also had to work and alter quite a bit to get a (still not perfect but reasonable) fit on the bodice. How did your dress turn out?
Betty my dress came out perfectly. I wore it for my birthday on 31.10. Even the dip at the front sat nicely. After all my hard work altering the bodice I plan to make the sleeved version soon. It feels love on in a cotton sateen. 🌹⚘🌼❤

Hi!! Did you reduce the straps? I'm making this dress and my straps are too long... thanks!
As far as I can remember I did indeed reduce the length of the straps. And I think they still turned out a little bit too long. But obviously this entirely depends on one's measurements! 😊
@@bettystimetravels6372 hi! Thanks for answering!! One more question: which size did you pick? I'm struggling with my bodice, there is a gap in the center back i just can't figure out how to correct.
