No seriously, why are pockets not a thing for EVERY dress now?
I feel like the lack of pockets in the women's clothing industry is due to a conspiracy with the purse industry.
Women don’t have pockets because when dresses became more form fitting they messed up the silhouette, the lack of pockets just stuck
peering into the closet every morning:
I think I’m the only female that doesn’t like pockets in dresses. I just don’t think it looks good. There have been times I’ve seen a dress and loved it but gotten annoyed and passed it up when I saw it had pockets. Plus I always have a purse so I have no need for pockets.
But now my phone won’t fit in my pocket because there’s too much sedition in there
I'm a wedding coordinator and you'll be pleased to know that in the last 2 years I've seen a few wedding dresses with pockets! It such an awesome idea as a bride doesn't want to carry a bag, good for their lipstick for touch-ups in the photos, but I'm waiting for the first ceremony to be interrupted by the brides phone ringing! 😳😂🤣
the most I've ever done with my sewing machine is minor alterations to my ill-fitted clothing, but today I'm happy to announce that I managed to make very well fitted mask from a pattern. I'm so proud.

When I was a little girl about 60 years ago oh gees that's a long time ago, I had a heart shaped pocket on a ribbon on my bridesmaids dress and I had forgotten all about it until I saw your beautiful heart shaped pocket I loved your video so clear thank you so much chris x

I personally like a pocket in a fun color or print. It's like the lining of a coat. Somethings are just purely for the wearer to only know of and enjoy.
I'm going to share a pocket solidarity story:
The whole “leveling up in pockets” made me think of DnD character sheets, and then I started thinking of how fun a “make your own sewist character sheet” video/activity would be! Could be a good skill for reflection too :)
In utter shock, a skirt that I picked up from an op-shop a couple of years ago came with six pockets. ¡¡¡ O_O !!!
Her wearing each dress as she finishes it really resonates with me.
I was literally cutting out a dress watching this and 5 seconds after I congratulated myself on finishing I realized I FORGOT TO CUT POCKETS!!! Luckily you saved me from that dark dark future lol and pockets are now accounted for.
