    In the final segment, part 3 of the Stemson Therapeutics Interview featuring CEO Geoff Hamilton, Geoff reveals a timeline that is somewhat surprising based on how we know previous companies have attempted to move to human trials. There are still challenges, but if there wasn't, we'd have the cure today. This final segment is interesting so check it out.

    I like Spencer, and I'm glad I started listening to the Bald Truth in 2004 because that's how I learned about finasteride, which saved my life. But I remember that he used to talk about hair cloning, and he expected it to be available by 2009. I'd be the first in line for any treatment that could work permanently to stop hair loss, but we've been hearing "it's only 5 years away" for over 18 years.

      what's the current state of your hair in 2022 while on finasteride?

    • @dualscreengrant
      @dualscreengrant 2 роки тому

      Finasteride worked for me from 2004 to 2020. I lost hair rapidly while on finasteride in late 2020 and early 2021. I started using dutasteride every day in May, and oral minoxidil in July. I'm hoping to get back some of the hair I lost during the last few months of being on finasteride, but there's not much regrowth. What bothers me the most is my diffuse thinning, which I've been able to hide by using Toppik, but without Toppik, my hair looks thin and sparse. I am strongly considering a transplant, but I'm not sure how helpful that would be for diffuse thinning.

    I got my first hair transplants back in 1977 my doctor told me the cure for baldness was only 5 to 10 years away. Well it's been 45 years now. 18 procedures to restore my hair. Looks pretty good. But this cure or fix? I'd sure like to see it happen before I am down to the last three follicles. Or in a pine box.

      @@hairtransplantchannel Strong original frontal line and great bobbing and weaving by scalp excision-ors helped. I kept plug work close to lateral hump's so later excisions just took the thinnest weakest scalp areas top/center of head. As my frontal line dissipated the excisions took the remaining nearer to front hair and transplants into a V formation.

      @Zerdest Mostoo I am pretty tapped out. Start with Norwood 3. 1970's, plugs took 6 separate sessions -- those days they weren't doing more than 150 5-6mm plugs per session. 2 scalp excisions, 1 Brandy flap, 2 Freshet devices ( 2 sessions) turned 55" of super thin scalp into 27 square inches of bald area remaining. That's 6 more sessions. About 11,000 hairs from 3 strip grafts much from pre farmed hole filled areas. That's 3 sessions. Then 3 sessions about 7500 + 750 +750 including body and neck hair FUE. I'm pretty tapped out with about max 1500 hairs all sources remaining unless we do arms/legs. Is that 18? Memory fades.

    So they need to design the parameters for human/pig skin, optimise a scaffold, build up a manifacturing process, find or engineer a suitable robot and pass clinical trials. Thats a lot of work to do and explains why there is no hair loss cure as of today, it's just extremely complex (and wasnt even well-funded for decades).

We want answers already! Not this obscure talk of years off after satisfying the gatekeepers and investors. The thing is they got human hair to grow in hairless mice. They got the hairs on their head, none of this waiting for eternity crap. I'm sure someone has the brains and talent to get it going already if it worked for them. If it worked for the mice, I'm sure they could figure out how to get it to work in people too who are really desperate and losing their hope and sanity. This is like the Hebrews in Egypt of 40 years of wandering in the desert, but for us it's more than that already! We're losing patience.

      Hey Emil, it's not as dramatic as you describe. You can just go bald and live your life, 40% of men go bald, remember no one forces you to wait for a cure. If you don't like that, there is fda-approved medication to treat balding TODAY. Moreover, hair systems have come a long way and look good. As a last resort, you can consider hair restoration surgery. We want an optimal solution like what Stemson tries to develop but in fact no one ever had the options we are having. Take care!

Mine is waist length at most when stretched out. Hair restoration surgery is like vandalism. When it's over you have less hair than before you started plus scars. Hair systems are also a joke, as are wigs. I'm thankful I have 90% of my hair remaining, but that loss for me is still more than I wish to have.

    • @vflwob5
      @vflwob5 2 роки тому +4

      To be fair, there is also much more stigma about balding women as women are expected to be beautiful by society. Men are not, that is why they are expected to embrace baldness and there is a lot of stigma against cosmetic solutions such as hair systems, which is kind of the opposite problem. But to say that women are somehow treated better is a bit unfair because society puts a lot of pressure on them and this beauty pressure
      creates the incentive for companies to develop solutions in the first place.
