    "When should I get a hair transplant"? I get this question all the time, every week in fact, and Dr. Severa Muresanu of Hattingen Hair in Switzerland discusses this issue in depth. If you've ever wondered when YOU should get a hair transplant, this is a really good primer on how Hattingen Hair thinks about the issue and is one key part to their incredible success as a bespoke hair restoration clinic in Europe.

    That's a really nice way to explain this subject. Absolutely love it. When a doctor is trying to find the reasons why you SHOULDN'T get a hair transplant, that's when you know he is a real deal.
    Btw that music in the background set the mood so well. Nailed it!

      @@gocsa I agree, the music, perhaps, could have been about 5 db lower, but i know the pain of finding a perfect balance. After so many videos, I still don't know what's the perfect balance. Sometimes it feels right to make it louder, sometimes - quiter hehe

    Dr Muresanu is (among) the most ethical. If every surgeon would hold his values, the industry would be in such a better place.

    This might be hands down one of the best videos, explaining the fundamentals of hair loss patterns (compared to the classic Norwood scale), and exceptional way of providing knowledge and information regarding the proper stage of loss that renders surgery as an option. I have been contemplating surgery for a while now, but was holding back because I could live with it. I have recently progressed to a Level 2, class 4, and the explanation by Dr. Muresanu is SPOT ON! Such compassion and understanding of the hair loss sufferers, but also solid advice to make sure of the mental and physical health of the patient in such a small video. Very well done! Thank you Joe for posting this

    What an extensive overview to the pitfalls in the mistiming of having a hair transplant. Loved the well broken down detail Joe. Also loved the sound track (reminded me of Phillip Glass?). Thanks for sharing!

    A great video and these are the types of hair restoration surgeons that you want to work with, he is honest and straight forward and as a few posters said, this doctor is giving you reasons why not to get a hair transplant. I loved how he basically told the viewer that anything at the third row and left of the chart, don't get a hair transplant and just experiments with different hair styles and even that fourth row he seems to say try not to get a hair transplant done. I know hair transplantation is up to the individual person and some people don't want to wait until the hair loss gets worse but if you do want to get a hair transplant, wait it out so that the hair loss progresses to the point where the hair restoration will actually make a difference and you've accounted for that hair loss you will continue to get as you age. I'm 53 years old and balding and I am thinking of a hair transplant but I think I am of the age where almost all of the hair loss has already happened but once I get my finances in order Hattingen hair is one of the places I will consider getting one along with Hasson and Wong and a few others. There is also a youtuber named Mr. Rolandas who has had great results with the doctor he used...
    Thanks for your videos, Joe...they are always great and you learn a lot from them

    I wonder how many guys there are in the world who went overboard with operations when they were too young and didn't plan it for the future and now have depleted donor zones. Like the doc said shaving your head after hair transplants wont look as good as before.

  • @mauelmuller5960

    I e changes my mind about fut. i think getting a zarew like fue is better than fut. since if we harvest big numbers like over 10k grafts its possible with fue. With good transsactipn rate there will be nearly no grafts lost. But if still neded later Ou can still get fut wirh just a lower density strip. With stis statehy you can avoid the fut complications scar etc to the max and only get them if really needed.
    What u think bout that?

      @jeffsaffron5647 2 роки тому

      Joe and Spencer actually talked about this on Bald Truth this Friday (July 22nd, 2022). Basically with these large scale FUE procedures they are taking grafts from all over the place. And they go far beyond what is considered a safe donor zone. So they are transplanting hair that can start miniaturize in the future even when on medication. Dr Zarew is doing a great job but simple reality is that this large scale FUE approach is more risky then going with FUT. If you are NW4-5-6 going with FUT first will give you best chance of having hair not only for next 5 years but possibly for the rest of your life.

      That’s simply not true except for people with extreme sensitivity to DHT that are NW7 by the time they’re in their early 20s. And even they can be helped by substituting finasteride with dutasteride.

      You won't hear most of this with most clinics. You should at least be told what NW level you are however as that is standard procedure with most clinics where, you know, a doctor is involved, but even then it isn't guaranteed.
