- In this video I finish installing the trailer hitch on my 2017 Nissan Frontier. I purchased a wiring harness and relay kit. Overall this was pretty easy, although the plug on the harness connector was a little difficult to remove. Watch and see how it goes before you do yours.

Tricks for removing stuck harness connectors: 1. Knock the connector with light rapid raps to loosen & drop out caked in dirt that will fight release of the keeper, then blow out w/compressed air (a computer duster can w/small tube works). 2. Press the connector together hard to get the keeper lock tooth loose. 3. Use needle nose (straight or curved) to grab connector by pressing on the keeper & back of connector, then pull.
Is it the same procedure for a 1998 Nissan Frontier?
Running light don't work on my '17 . I dont have the relay kit installed. Could that be an issue?
I know they must have a purpose.... but why are there 3 relay-type plastic "things" at the end of the inside the cab harness??? just curious to their function-thanks!
Probably to isolate the trailer brakes from the truck brakes. That way if you get a short in the trailer it doesn't leave the tow vehicle without lights / brake lights.
