There aren't many people reacting to DCI shows so I definitely appreciate that you're getting into it!
I think its just because of how difficult it is. Seems like a certain company that rhymes with gloparching might me cracking down on older DCI videos so that they can start providing those videos which i think is fair, but i just dont want to have to subscribe to something for drum corps videos.
Love that you're loving your discovery in the activity! So, so many shows and styles over so many years, so ask around to us and I'm sure you can find more to enjoy. This one in particular, so hard to pick a favorite Cavaliers show, but this is one of the shows I come back to a lot!
Oh yeah, and this show did take 3rd place, whereas that Spartacus show you reacted to won 1st that 2008 competition. Just goes to show how slim the margins are in the eyes of the judges, and how competitive it can get!
2008 was an incredible year for shows.
I think that you should put some lot warm up videos into the rotation to get a bit more perspective on the individual sections that sometimes gets missed in the full performance recordings.

It has to consist of the main brass colorgaurd and precusion stuff, apart from that there are a few rules on the DCI website.
The cavaliers and madison scouts are the 2 only all male drum corps. They started as boy scout groups. You were in the Marine as was I brother, you should check out The Cavaliers Mad World show. It has a little Marine Corps feature in it.
Not anymore. That ended last year for the Mad Scouts. They are now co-ed.
What’s up my friend? So glad you liked this show as well and you are starting to hit on a lot of items that I love to hear during your reaction. You did see a Japanese character during the show and the translation is “Samurai” 👍 good eye on that visual. I love it that you are starting to see the storylines that most shows do have however some are not as obvious. The Cavaliers are the only all male corp left and the corp that I marched in during my DCI career. Their athleticism is always a strong suit and the visual program that they put out has always been innovative and one that the other corps always have tried to keep up with through the years. They dominated in the 2000’s winning World Championships in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2006 and should have won in 2003. They spent most of the time since 2011 regrouping after big staff changes but have moved back into the top five before COVID hit. There are really very few limitations as to what the creative team puts together. The show “Inferno” that we tried the other day as Very dark and Very AMAZING and is created around Dante’s Inferno. We have a show called “Of Angels and Demons” which won the 2011 World Championship. We have “Romeo and Juliet which is probably the next I will request. Going back to 1989 World Champion Santa Clara Vanguard performed Phantom of the Opera. There are also some abstract themes such as the AMAZING 2014 BlueCoats with a masterpiece called “Tilt” where the literally tilt the field by creating new sidelines. They have added the ability to use Live vocals, trombones (previously) not allowed and change more rules every now and again. I will get some more on here for you to enjoy with a mix of what I just talked about👍❤️
Even people from European drumcorps are travelling to this events every year to see the best of the best. Our drumcorps has sadly gone forever since we have a lack of members and discussion if you still could participate if you aint vaxxed so due to that, ours is completely torn apart and now a sitting orchestra. Super sad. 😕
