All of the martial arts training seems to be validated by recent exercise science from my recent random deep dive into this stuff. To the point I am trying to get my very old father into it. He had a state middle distance record for ten years at least but recently heart problems have made his biases really problematic for keeping up his crucial muscle tone.

Actually nowadays in exercise science and at this point I guess even in pop exercise science we understand that the best stretching is powered stretch i.e. with as much strength/resistance as safely possible. Everything in (recent?) exercise science seems to validate martial arts training honestly especially when it comes to people with weaker genetics.
