That's funny... you're describing such a personal experience and yet how many of us are having basically the same experience. It's nice to do a little time traveling to an era that holds some good memories.
It's sad that Elizabeth & Jim are now gone. We like to think of these celebrities as immortal. We all know what happened to Jim in the end when he made his last appearance only briefly in the Gilligan's Island movie. He seems like such a character & a funny human being & Liz was lovely & charming. She passed from cancer in 1995. Good to see them here having a great time on this great show, never lost for a word.
To me password was the greatest game show to ever be put on television. It also taught a person a lot. We missed Allen Ludden Elizabeth Montgomery and Jim Backus❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wow...Allan is really letting both Liz and Jim use more than one clue word several gestures. With other guests he warns both will get you the 'buzzer'.
Elizabeth is a split image of her father Robert right down to her facial expressions gestures. I recently watched two of his movies so acutely noticed the multiple similarities.
. I could just IMAGINE the nonsensical words that would have dribbled out of my mouth in trying to play the game, had I been lucky enough to get on this show back in the day.........only to then find out Liz Montgomery was my 'partner' !! BEWITCHED, indeed !! 😄 .
only women get reprimanded for using their hands. Mr Magoo literally saluted while saying salutation for the password of “salute” but liz gets disparaged for pointing
The lady in pink who was a model was smart as well, they always say attractive dumb blondes, and I'm always rooting for the attractive 'dumb' blondes and love them to win. When Allen said about going back to being a teacher, I thought that was a bit like trying to pull her down a bit, do the sensible safe thing, I hope she remained a model. She was very elegant as well. Actually she reminded me of Princess Di a bit, same aqualine nose and graceful carriage. Really surprised she didn't get famous.
Wow I love this women I saw in movie called ...Amos” with Kirk Douglas . Kirk moves to care home where he meets up Liz⭐️ she’s plays a mean psycho path Head Nurse 👩⚕️ ✅⭐️⭐️⭐️👍🏽 was interesting to see play a bad chick compared to lovely house wife ( Bewitched)
"Real adults" -- BINGO! That's what's missing these days. Too many adults act like teenagers or children, and not as responsible people. It's really quite frightening. Soon, the kids will be bringing up their parents, and I'm sure they'll do a better job of it.
Randy King: Yes, it would have counted. I was yelling at the screen, "Say Tinkerbell. Say Tinkerbell". Of course, maybe then they might have answered with "Peter Pan". lol
I'm surprised at all his veiled sexist comments. Product of the times, perhaps, but Betty White seems more progressive than that, wonder how she put up with it.
@@catnip824 What "veiled sexist comments"? I didn't notice any. Besides, Betty White (like her or not) has a real garbage mouth on her when given the opportunity to display it. So, no. I don't think she'd have had any trouble putting up with anyone else's comments. I imagine she'd have given as good as she got.
yes I think there's a good chance everyone knows it, especially those who watch all the episodes and read the comments and see about 30 comments pointing that out in every episode.
**I always thought (still do) that Montgomery's talent and looks were wasted on 'Bewitched'...given the opportunity, shecould've been a movie-star of the 'first-rank' instead of being a 'hack' on a completely inane TV show...when you see her in the 'Twilight Zone' episode called 'Two' (with Charles Bronson) her natural looks are stunning without all the hair and make-up shit from the 'Lana Turner' days still in-play from the late '50's.
She had the movie career first. Hubby Bill talked her into doing the TV show. Joke was on her as it just went on and on and on and....... Can you imagine? 254 episodes of witcheepoo. Unreal!
Actually, Liz got a few chances to make an impact in films, but her appeal seemed destined for the small screen. Following Bewitched she did several dramatic roles very well indeed.
. 1:24 Kinda seemed strange to me that when Ludden comments to Liz Montgomery that her husband (William Asher) is a big tennis player, she seemed a bit befuddled upon hearing that.....almost as though she wasn't so sure he was.... 🤨 .
The rules were a bit vague, and sometimes were too restrictive. The word Judge (off camera) was a dictionary guy who would sound a 'buzzer" if the clue was against the rules. He did NOT ring the buzzer. A.L. - (Who claimed to have a B.A. degree in English 🤣) cancelled the win. It was NOT A.L.'s place to cancel a winner, if the word Judge did not sound the buzzer. A.L. allowed celebrities to cheat very often every year the show was on the air, especially the female celebrities. {[ I watched it with Mom when she was ironing or folding clean clothes in the early 60's.]}
I am enjoying this so much...it's like, they're all alive, and I'm watching this on live TV, on a Wednesday morning, after skipping school...
@Baronarx V indeed!

Oh my sweet , lovely, timeless, intelligent and charming Liz Montgomery. I sooooo love this lady. She's fun to watch. Amazing energy.
YES
People describe her so perfectly here. Genuine charm.
She is such a delight! I am afraid to go out because of Covid and she is excellent company! She died far too young...
Elizabeth Montgomery forever!
Such a fantastic actress and great lady! Way ahead of her time!
I could watch Elizabeth morning, noon and night.

I love Elizabeth Montgomery i miss her i watch bewitched all the time
Me too. She was the most Fantastic Actress. I like her very much.
Bewitched and I dream of jeannie 😍
Everybody loves her! Noticed that 99% of the comments are about Liz Montgomery and not about the other celebrity.
I Forgot How Popular and FUN and Smart this Show Was/ IS!
I love all these stars that was a great time watching them those were the days
Such a sweet and beautiful woman...I can see why everyone fell in love with her on Bewitched.
I loved that show then and I still do!
I loved Elizabeth as a witch and watched every episode aired here in Finland.
That Question: who would you invite to dinner? My vote Elizabeth Montgomery so delightful and charming…!!!
Also what I love about password is it teaches you a lot about the English language and how to use words❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love all the Mr Magoo banter between Jim and Allen.
Love Liz ❤️
What a fun show!
Born in 1933, Liz was 33 here.
Very intelligent and very beautiful, charming.
Jim should've gotten buzzed for saying "salutation" for "salute"
true. But that was in the lightning round. Wouldn't get away with it during game play.
Elizabeth was so beautiful
Smart and talented too.
@@NJgateway very smart.. fastest time on aplabetics on password plus.
Seriously... Elizabeth Montgomery... what a woman!! 😍
"Alan is a nice middle name." - Why Thank you Mr. Ludden.
Salutation is a form of salute

I loved Elizabeth Montgomery! My cousin died from the same cancer! We need to all get our colonoscopies! I am late on mine due to Covid...
When will covid-19 be over? From Ms. Harper Stacey.
I know! When will it be over???
God I just love her
Oh Magoo you’ve done it again lol!! 7:06
Lovey and Derwood were in the audience that night.
Love Jim. Great actor, and Elizabeth also.
Wow...Allan is really letting both Liz and Jim use more than one clue word several gestures. With other guests he warns both will get you the 'buzzer'.
He was always more lenient during the lightening round.
It was before folks were lawyered up and it was supposed to be fun. And although it was a nice amount of $ it wasn't BIG money when you won.
Elizabeth is a split image of her father Robert right down to her facial expressions gestures. I recently watched two of his movies so acutely noticed the multiple similarities.
Tarn Sand Yes. She looks exactly like him!
Love this show so much so relavent today
What happened to all these great game shows?? I remember getting home to watch "The Dating Game".
The model had a good clue with 'watering'
Even the famous actors at that time were nicer and humbled comparing to the Arrogant and Snobs actors from today Feb.14, 2021.
She was the prettiest lady on television❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂

The bell ringer share enjoys his job lol
She's so pretty as sounds nice i get she's a lot of fun
I've seen Jim Backus play Password against Liz Montgomery before with very different results. He was spectacular on this particular show.
When you use words like rows and fare, people are bound to interpret them as rose and fair.
only women get reprimanded for using their hands. Mr Magoo literally saluted while saying salutation for the password of “salute” but liz gets disparaged for pointing
She's great at this game and I love him on gillian s island as well
The celebrities seem to cheat quite a bit on this show. commenting on words and using gestures. The judges let them run wild.
It is fun :)

She reminded me of the actress Diana Muldaur
Salad, pickles....I want a salad....a Bewitched salad like in the Julius Cesar salad episode!
Oh my goodness, I’m starring at Jim, thinking who is he?🤔🤔 I kept thinking he looked like Mike Huckabee. Then it hit me. Thirston Howell the third!!
And of course Mr. Magoo. He never aged.
Are you kidding me...You didn’t recognize him?
Mike Huckabee...Yuck!
Thurston :-)
Thank u for the video i really enjoy them bring more
He seems pretty good.
Has anyone seen the episode of twilight zone with Elizabeth and Charles Bronson in a postwar wasteland?
Yes
I don't think Elizabeth Montgomery spoke one word in that episode.
@@NJgateway yes, you're absolutely right about that, she let her actions speak louder than words ever could
3:57 : Did Jim let a curse word slip? 😄
I can't believe he got away with asking her if she was a working girl and she was just as chipper yes sir
That question was asked a lot. Different connotation then.
Everyone dressed up in the audience like they were attending a wedding.
What happened? Now people where their pajamas in public.
I'm surprised Jim was able to get away with "salutation" for "salute".
How about acting like a fairy for the word ferry.
But that was in the lightning round. Wouldn't get away with it during game play.
For 'Size' I thought of 'measurements'
good one.
It's enjoyable
Bold means something completely different now then back then.
Elizabeth appears to be the same person as Samantha. No acting needed on Bewitched.
I think the makers of the show have already decided who the winner should be.
Can’t disregard Suzie either.
She must have had a bush on her like my aunt connie. it was the 60s.
This witch was in the game show.

I'd like to see more of suzy. Looks like Diana Muldaur.
Liz is so darling starting at 10:20.
She was always trying so hard for her partners.
She cheats in the most charming way. What a doll she was.
Liz is ALWAYS darling :)
Lol glacier for crustacean
😂🤣 Jim says “Oh $#!+ @ 3:57 😂
Elizabeth♥️
She was very pretty
Ferry. Lmao.
Hmm...maybe measurement for size
I was thinking dimensions.
Just think if Bewitched had been on the island with Gilligan & the gang. Show would've been over 5 minutes into the pilot.
Ludden a critical lad.
Looks like her partner is Jim Parsons from big bang
Rex Johnson was handsome!
Notice how people were more interesting then? And they were real adults.
"Real adults" -- BINGO! That's what's missing these days. Too many adults act like teenagers or children, and not as responsible people. It's really quite frightening. Soon, the kids will be bringing up their parents, and I'm sure they'll do a better job of it.
It was de'classe for Jim Backus to make that gesture with ferry...but such were the times then...
I don't care what you all say, I think Elizabeth Montgomery was really pretty!
You can hear the echo before the answer
Question: If Jim Backus had hinted "Tinkerbell" and the guy said "fairy", does that count as "ferry"? (Do homonyms count?)
Spelling doesn't count on Password
Randy King: Yes, it would have counted. I was yelling at the screen, "Say Tinkerbell. Say Tinkerbell". Of course, maybe then they might have answered with "Peter Pan". lol
happens all the time, but an even better clue is 'Manhattan'
There are about 2 people in that entire room who are still alive. Maybe.
RIP Allen Ludden
The chick, suzie Stewart. In pink.......yeaaaahh, bay-bee!

🤣 noticed that too!
They were sure lax on rules in those days. 🤣

Bewitched was a great show and still is fifty something years later!
I remember her playing Lizzie Borden.
She did dozens of television movies...
11 days before I was born. I think Sharon Tate was in "Don't Make Waves."
She was there, a wonderful perfomance by lovely Sharon.
In the lightning round, why was Jim Backus allowed to say "Part of" (clearly two words)? I think he also used more than one word in another clue(?)
They were more lenient in the lightning rounds because they were not playing against another contestant.
@@randysills4418 my thoughts exactly.
Telegraph was tough. I'd have gone with transmitter
"Morse" would have been a clue, for Morse code which was used on the wires. Or "Dot", "Dash".
@@gusloader123 that's what I thought. Invented by Robert Morse.

In 1966, the purchasing power of the U.S. dollar was almost exactly ten times more compared to 2024.
Irrigation was the password on another episode.
3 or 4 others at least.
Why was salutation allowed. Its part of the word
Kathy Fowler: I wondered about that, too. Oh, well. It still was enjoyable to watch. :)
