It's sad that Elizabeth & Jim are now gone. We like to think of these celebrities as immortal. We all know what happened to Jim in the end when he made his last appearance only briefly in the Gilligan's Island movie. He seems like such a character & a funny human being & Liz was lovely & charming. She passed from cancer in 1995. Good to see them here having a great time on this great show, never lost for a word.

He was always more lenient during the lightening round.
It was before folks were lawyered up and it was supposed to be fun. And although it was a nice amount of $ it wasn't BIG money when you won.

Elizabeth is a split image of her father Robert right down to her facial expressions gestures. I recently watched two of his movies so acutely noticed the multiple similarities.

To me password was the greatest game show to ever be put on television. It also taught a person a lot. We missed Allen Ludden Elizabeth Montgomery and Jim Backus❤❤❤❤❤❤
Even the famous actors at that time were nicer and humbled comparing to the Arrogant and Snobs actors from today Feb.14, 2021.
When you use words like rows and fare, people are bound to interpret them as rose and fair.
The celebrities seem to cheat quite a bit on this show. commenting on words and using gestures. The judges let them run wild.

The lady in pink who was a model was smart as well, they always say attractive dumb blondes, and I'm always rooting for the attractive 'dumb' blondes and love them to win. When Allen said about going back to being a teacher, I thought that was a bit like trying to pull her down a bit, do the sensible safe thing, I hope she remained a model. She was very elegant as well. Actually she reminded me of Princess Di a bit, same aqualine nose and graceful carriage. Really surprised she didn't get famous.

I've seen Jim Backus play Password against Liz Montgomery before with very different results. He was spectacular on this particular show.

I'm surprised at all his veiled sexist comments. Product of the times, perhaps, but Betty White seems more progressive than that, wonder how she put up with it.

I don't think she'd have had any trouble putting up with anyone else's comments. I imagine she'd have given as good as she got.
yes I think there's a good chance everyone knows it, especially those who watch all the episodes and read the comments and see about 30 comments pointing that out in every episode.

They were more lenient in the lightning rounds because they were not playing against another contestant.

**I always thought (still do) that Montgomery's talent and looks were wasted on 'Bewitched'...given the opportunity, shecould've been a movie-star of the 'first-rank' instead of being a 'hack' on a completely inane TV show...when you see her in the 'Twilight Zone' episode called 'Two' (with Charles Bronson) her natural looks are stunning without all the hair and make-up shit from the 'Lana Turner' days still in-play from the late '50's.
She had the movie career first. Hubby Bill talked her into doing the TV show. Joke was on her as it just went on and on and on and.......
Can you imagine? 254 episodes of witcheepoo. Unreal!
Actually, Liz got a few chances to make an impact in films, but her appeal seemed destined for the small screen. Following Bewitched she did several dramatic roles very well indeed.
Bewitched was a great show and still is fifty something years later!

I don't understand what words are acceptable clues and which ones are not - for example - male or female, or telegram or telegraph?!
The rules were a bit vague, and sometimes were too restrictive. The word Judge (off camera) was a dictionary guy who would sound a 'buzzer" if the clue was against the rules. He did NOT ring the buzzer. A.L. - (Who claimed to have a B.A. degree in English 🤣) cancelled the win. It was NOT A.L.'s place to cancel a winner, if the word Judge did not sound the buzzer.
A.L. allowed celebrities to cheat very often every year the show was on the air, especially the female celebrities. {[ I watched it with Mom when she was ironing or folding clean clothes in the early 60's.]}
