- We shared an evening with critically-acclaimed New York artist Michael David in his studio in Atlanta, documenting his artistic process of pouring wax in three paintings. This exclusive behind-the-scenes short is a window to his art, his abstraction and his exploration with the medium... layer upon layer.

To the naysayers below, you have not seen this kind of work up close, obviously. The depth of the wax floats things in the air between the layers, and the color and texture of it is mesmerizing. These videos do not reveal what the naked eye sees. It is quite stunning in person ...
Thanks for the video, but no primer was added before the encaustic gesso?
In the vid he says he does NOT paint in encaustic so this is just wax with no encaustic medium...not sure about the painting's durability if that's the case
Brilliant piece of art..!!!
I absolutely love your work, it's gorgeous.
Uber fantastic
LOL.
Too much waste of material. I hate to waste not because i’m Stingy because less is more.
I think they can collect the wax runoff and reheat it.
WORTHLESS. COMPLETELY WORTHLESS AND RIDICULOUS.
I’m all for encaustic but this is bollocks !
What the hell is this BS. A child could pour a liquid over something. It’s just horrible.
On top of talking a bunch of bullshit, I wouldn't call him an encaustic artist, or even an artist for that matter.
This is not art.
this is not art. Decoration at best.
