Very beautiful! Intro was a little lengthy and I just wanted the demo to start but the got a UA-cam commercial!
Thanks Happy Cluck ! I don't control where the commercials go, but you can certainly scoot past my intro ( or any part you think I have gone long on lol which happens sorry ) on the slider bar if you like :) Hope you have lots of fun with this one !
@@ShariReplogle I really love your work and enjoy your tutorials very much!
I will try to transfer the rubbing direct to a solid base of wax.
HI LOVELY TEACHER I MISS YOU ❣️
Do you know what ever happened to her making videos and art?
Shari, This is very beautiful. You used India Gold Paint, can you share what this is and where you got it?
And you applied it with a sponge of some sort? Thanks
Hi Wendy I am not really sure where I got this one but Dr Ph Martin's iridescent gold India ink is what I usually use and would recommend :)
Shari, I love the way you used the leaves here! They're beautiful! Near the end, where you used the catalyst and stencils to add texture, would you then lightly fuse again, or not? Thanks a lot for sharing these!
Hi Cecile ! Thank you so much. At the end when I add the stenciled graphite marks you really don't need to fuse that in. There' just enough added to these to be absorbed into the paper . There is not bulky layers of wax sitting on top. I hope you have a lot of fun with these :)))
@@ShariReplogle Hi, Shari! Thank you for that information! This definitely has my interest! I need to get back into projects! Take care!!
I’m
Especially curious about which rice paper you use.
What do you do with the finished papers? Can they be infused onto a board? I would love some ideas to use them further! Thank you, love the etchings.
I was wondering the same! Would be interesting to know what to do with them. Beautiful work needs to be presented. Such an excellent video!
Could you use graphite powder instead of the sticks and say a brush to apply the powder - I imagine you may not get as clear of lines/textures but would it work at all??
Hi Shari. These were fantastic, what a wonderful way to use frontage. Just a question - could you use straight bees wax instead of a ready made encaustic medium? Thank you for sharing (-: Marion
Hi Marion! You can always use just beeswax but the damar resin (natural tree sap crystals) joined with the beeswax to create encaustic medium, helps to cure your wax over time. Encaustic medium is usually made up of roughly 6-8 parts beeswax to 1 part damar resin . This is an important addition because it hardens the wax over time so that it will not be "tacky" to the touch and you can buff it to a very high shine. Without the small amount of damar resin added to the beeswax it can also attract more dust because of the tack . The damar also helps to clarify the wax and hep to dissipate any "bloom" ( fogginess in the wax ) which becomes especially important over imagery. One of the reasons I love encaustic as a medium so much is that both elements , the beeswax and the damar , are completely natural and lovely . It is only when we begin to add pigment that this can change depending on what the artist uses. I hope this info helps and you have a lot of fun with these !

Thanks for this beautiful video and sharing your technique.
Are you able to work on both sides- back and front of your paper please?
could you mount this onto a substrate when finished?
Hi Kelli! It would be much better to mount them (glue them down) first to board before adding any wax but prints done on a very thin Hanshi Rice paper can be incorporated into an encaustic collage, they can be matted and framed since they only have a very thin layer encaustic, or added to an art journal which I do a lot with the prints :)
gorgeous ,where are the stencils from please ? if i may ask
How do you use the transfers?
Attach to encaustic base or use as pages in a journal?
Could you repost the list of supplies used? The link no longer works. Thanks!!
is there any other medium one could use instead of the pan pastels. ? Ihave only a brown one. Sabilo pencils are friendly to wax, or conte?
Hi, where did you get that random circle stencil?
Bonjour quel est le papier utilisé ?
Merci
Nicole
How do you mount or display these?
Hallo, hier ist Monika,
Sorry, ich weiß jetzt gar nicht, wie es danach weitergeht. Ich hätte auch gerne eine Fertige Version des Bildes gesehen.
