@@renevb196he’s a bit younger than Poga, so he might even improve and get closer to his level. Perhaps if he loses some more weight, he can be more competitive in the big mountain stages. More weight loss might make him less good in other aspects though - e.g. ITT’s and LBL might become more difficult for him. Right now he’s very impressive - take away those superhumans in front of him and he’s dominating the TdF -, but, unfortunately, he just doesn’t seem incredible enough to compete with those two (who might very well be the best GC-riders ever)

I've been watching Le Tour for close to 20 years now. This stuff's been going on for a long time now, the tunnel of dipshits is an age old tradition. The one thing that has changed most is people with their phones out, taking pictures and not paying attention to where they are standing. It is a miracle Jonas is even alive after that crash and a miracle that he is riding the race so far at second place in the hardest race in cycling and on a particularly hard stage. Remember Jonas only got on a bike 6 weeks before the start after 10 weeks off. Plus he is missing his top mountain domestique to covid. Pog will win in Nice but even he knows the real contest is hopefully in 2025 with both of them fully fit and with full support teams and maybe as we have just heard it’s possible with Remco riding the 2025 TDF as leader with a fully dedicated Red Bull Bora team
I'm rooting for Vingegaard, but from the start I thought he had little chance to win this year. He should be quite proud to be competing as well as he is right now. Aside from Vingegaard recovering from injury, it's clear that UAE has the stronger team this year - especially in the mountains. Jorgenson is really strong, but they have to be missing Kuss right now.
And UAE is now missing Ayuso. Also, Pogacar is attempting the Giro-Tour double, something which has not been achieved since 1998, so the toll taken by the Giro levels the playing field somewhat.
I think the strategy was mainly to force Jorgenson to pull so that Yates doesn’t creep up on Jonas too much (otherwise he’d become a much more serious threat in week 3). And if Jorgenson pulls, he won’t be able to follow Pogi when he attacks - so Jonas doesn’t have someone to bring him over and has to do it himself. Exactly what happened.
Pog's refuelling issues from Wednesday appeared to be sorted today by soigneur throwing a packet of Salty Vingegaard crisps at him just after his attack on the final climb.
Tbh this year is clearly not jonas vingegaards year after the big big crash with jonas, but i must say that its impressive that jonas is in second place, and he had so hard with training. But next year if jonas dont crash, and hes teamates isnt sick or dont crash then if u ask me then jonas will win tour de france 2025❤💪 And pogacar is very very strong this year and im proud of him too💪🔥 Hope u come stronger next year jonas Love from denmark❤❤
As much as I'd like an underdog to come through and win a stage there is just no denying Pog is one of the GOATS. A big modified bulldozer needs to drive through and take out those crowds too.
Remember the days when we collectively weighed the merits of pedaling cadence as a race strategy? Yeah...I don't miss that either. Thank god for Tadej, Jonas, Remco, and Primoz (and others!) for lighting up bike racing with genuine passion and energy.
A few days ago Tadej tried another breakaway but Jonas caught him and out dueled Tadej to the line -- looked like the advantage was shifting towards Jonas. Today Tadej tried another jump and this time it worked and with nearly two minutes on Jonas the tour is in Tadej's hands. It's still not over as there are days left in the mountains and minutes can change hands quickly in the mountains. At this point, however, I'd say Tadej has a 75% chance of winning with Jonas being about 25%, but again, this could change in the coming week.
The weather is on Pogs side, all his bad days I remember were in heat and contrary to what the clown media tell you it's NOT hot currently, only 20°C today (probably even less on the summit).
@@JanneBernards What I mean is - why they made them blend in rather than stand out. A kit should be eye-catching, memorable, and bring attention to the sponsor. Their tour kit does nearly the opposite. Good examples are LIDL and EF.... The current Visma kit is super missable and forgettable
I like your reporting, but you didn't mention it when Yates and Pogacar passed Healey. That was an important bit of information that you let slide. Fortunately, the video coverage showed the event happen, so those who were interested in it recognized when it happened. But if we hadn't seen it, we would all be wondering where Healy was, and when is Pogacar going to catch Healey.
smart he was on limit had shirt open for a k before that. Hes not racing tadej he was marking jonas a bit and maintaining white/podium I think. Hes trying not to loose much in mountains and do great ITT on stage 21. Even when yates went landa told hiirt no not there problem and matteo went to the front. Very good ride from remco hes doing incredible. Should be great last week
Superb counter punch from Poggie. Long way from over but always felt the strength of UAE was going to beat Visma this year. Poggie should sit back now and just react. Not in his DNA but needs to consider it.
Where were Jonas's domestiques to help him? Pogi will wipe the floor with him unless he gets better support from his team. Or maybe TVL are planning a big steal of time on another stage, so this was just managing the gap and saving energy for a prime stage to exert advantage later on. Mind you, there wasn't much anyone could do against a UAE masterclass.
@@LadyBird-n2t Not really, Jonas didn't blow up like Pogi last year. Also, Pogi pretty much made the gap on his own with just a bit of help from Adam Yates. Both are great GC riders, but looks like Pogi has the bit between the teeth and TVL support to Jonas os far less than last year: no Kuss and no Roglic is going to have an impact, not to mention Jonas's terrible crash in Pais Vasco. So the two years don't compare really.
@markdonovan1540 pog blew up last year because he races a full season.. Not just 1 race with a stacked team. And pog didnt prep last year due to his crash. Lets be hinest, 100% fit jonas wouldnt be in a diffrrent situation to now.. Pogs on another level this year
Before the Tour started I though Vingegaard could claw back 4-5 minutes from reaching the Pyrenees until Nice. But now he actually lost time on the first of those clawback stages, I think he needs to actually gain time on Pogi for tomorrow. The thing is, Vingegaard loses 2 minutes.
@@AtomikGround One of the hypothesis, at least it was considered in the Brazilian broadcasting, is that Visma could approach these weekend stages as a single one, taking it easy today in order to attack tommorrow. Let's see!
Jonas needs to make the race a full gas 1 vs 1 for as long as possible, he needs attack first and ride full gas from the bottom of the last climb tomorrow, that's the only way he can win. He can't if he waits until Pog creates a gap with his attack with just a few km to go, like he did today. Wednesday showed, Pog can create a gap for a few km, but can't keep up the pace for long. VIngegaard needs to ride full gas from the bottom, so Pog is tired at the top, like he was on Wednesday.
Good comment. Vingegaard benefits from steep long climbs at high pace. No Kuss to set up that pace so he needs to do it himself and have faith that Pogacar will have problems to follow sooner or later. Today I think was bad tactic from Vingegaard, at "flat" 4-6% a few km from goal he's never beaten Pogacar.
So Remco didn't have the balls to ride with Jonas again!?😂 But he is actually doing better than I expected, however just marginally better at climbing than the next half dozen climbers. He can win a GT though with only 2nd rate climbers due to his time trialing. But let's see in a see years...
I'm a fan of Team Visma, and I don't want Pogacar to win, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen this time. I think UAE is looking as dominant in this Tour as Sky/Ineos were in their prime.
I think Pog's dominance is bad for the sport and entertainment (why even watch Strade or Lombardia if he is there, for example) but he is clean @arthurdemange1090

Advantage Pogacar for sure, but wouldn't call it just yet - if you look at what's left on the menu, pretty much anything can still happen.
Go go, go Pogi go, go!
Don’t spoil the result in the title in the video
UAE Team is so stacked I think it will be really hard for Jonas to create a gap. Praying that it happens though and the GC Difference closes a bit!
Jaja seguí rezando
Excelente video 👏🏼
7 watts per kg over 30 minutes CLIMBING...this is unbelievable
That’s Hautacam 96 level honestly and with previous mountains in the legs too!
Question is: Unbelievable in the good way or the bad way?
Probably closer to 6.5 W/kg based on VAM of 1822 m/h
Unbelievable in a bad way.
@@jmsytbethey are all using
I think the strategy was mainly to force Jorgenson to pull so that Yates doesn’t creep up on Jonas too much (otherwise he’d become a much more serious threat in week 3). And if Jorgenson pulls, he won’t be able to follow Pogi when he attacks - so Jonas doesn’t have someone to bring him over and has to do it himself.
Exactly what happened.
Genius move. GC teams now have to mark every move by Yates
He’s like 8 min down no one cares lol
Vin và Pogacar hai người tôi yêu thích, vì ai dành chiến thắng cũng điều xứng đáng ❤❤
Love this channel 🎉
Pog's refuelling issues from Wednesday appeared to be sorted today by soigneur throwing a packet of Salty Vingegaard crisps at him just after his attack on the final climb.
Jonas has "had his chips" right enough....
Some of the best cycling tactics I have ever seen
Tbh this year is clearly not jonas vingegaards year after the big big crash with jonas, but i must say that its impressive that jonas is in second place, and he had so hard with training.
But next year if jonas dont crash, and hes teamates isnt sick or dont crash then if u ask me then jonas will win tour de france 2025❤💪
And pogacar is very very strong this year and im proud of him too💪🔥
Hope u come stronger next year jonas
Love from denmark❤❤
Impeccable teamwork by UAE...👍
Its so weird to me that vingegaard never counters, he always just waits and sits there hoping pogi will break
As much as I'd like an underdog to come through and win a stage there is just no denying Pog is one of the GOATS. A big modified bulldozer needs to drive through and take out those crowds too.
Looking good for Pogacar but not over. Remaining mountain stages will be decisive as well as the TT which could have really big gaps like last year
Terbaik lah Poggy
Remember the days when we collectively weighed the merits of pedaling cadence as a race strategy? Yeah...I don't miss that either. Thank god for Tadej, Jonas, Remco, and Primoz (and others!) for lighting up bike racing with genuine passion and energy.
Lost Ayuso but UAE still stacked with soldiers of fortune mercenaries...
Lowkey ayuso leaving helped UAE chemistry💀
Tbf Ayuso was refusing to work and stuff so probably more cohesive now
@racter4203 agree - might be a better vibe in that bus
@@racter4203 agree. Unfortunately...
It’s reminding me of the 2009 Astana TDF team honestly I don’t know which team is stronger this 2024 UAE team or the 2009 Astana TDF team
That was WAY impressive.^
Jonas was expecting 2min again, so he's doing good lmao.
Nearly two minutes is going to be tough to overcome -- it's not over, but it might just be over.
Yes. No one has mentioned that so far Pogi has been lucky with the heat.
Tomorrow is supposed to be 10c hotter I think
I’d love a course profile measured in caloric expenditure. Or wattage.
Why you gotta ruin it in the title Mae?
Working as a TEAM poweredr UAE on Top, Pogacar💪
My top-2 were backwards today.
Pog and Team UAE were amazing, but I was most impressed with Nils Pull-it
@2:11 why the hell did Jumbo make their special jerseys camouflage style????
Because it's not Jumbo-Visma anymore. It's Visma-Lease-a-bike. Jumbo stopped sponsoring sports, and the yellow is their trademark color.
4:47 interesting how much out of position remco evenepoel was when pogacar attacked.
smart he was on limit had shirt open for a k before that.
Did anyone else see that guy hit Pogi in the face with those chips and latter throw one at Jonas?
Netflix fanboys yesterday: "Why is Pogacar wasting energy sprinting? Jonas is gona smoke him tomorrow" lmao. Just kidding it's a good day for Jonas. 😅
🤣🤣🤣
jonas really needs sepp kuss pulling him up the mountains this year.
That UAE Team is TOO DAMN GOOD!
I hope history proves Pogi is clean, he seems like a great young man and an amazing athlete.
Superb counter punch from Poggie. Long way from over but always felt the strength of UAE was going to beat Visma this year. Poggie should sit back now and just react. Not in his DNA but needs to consider it.
There are still some strong stages for Jonas coming up ahead. If Pog stays strong through those, I’ll then be convinced.
The same Visma did to Pogi last year...
Visma mountain domestiques are at home with COVID or injuries.
UAE is doing to Jonas what Jumbo did to Pog twice.
Pogs on another level this year
Pogi might have decided the Tour today. Tomorrow is the day we'll see it. If there is a day for Vingegaard and Visma to react it is tomorrow.
It's not over yet, the queen stage is still infront of them and they will need to climb to 2800m
@@robert-gq5thThere is no one to carry Jonas up there. The race from now on will be controlled and dictated by UAE.
@@AtomikGround One of the hypothesis, at least it was considered in the Brazilian broadcasting, is that Visma could approach these weekend stages as a single one, taking it easy today in order to attack tommorrow. Let's see!
@@tonyg3091 I don't think it matters, but also he has Jorgenson. They will let UAE pull and attack when all of them are done
So Remco didn't have the balls to ride with Jonas again!?😂
But he is actually doing better than I expected, however just marginally better at climbing than the next half dozen climbers. He can win a GT though with only 2nd rate climbers due to his time trialing. But let's see in a see years...
Go Lance!
pog is better at the shorter bursts than those long attacks
I mean he won bianchi with a 80km attack
@@karl8805 yh I dont say he's bad at it, but I mean he's better at short bursts than vingegaard where as longer efforts they have been more equal.
Respect Tadej 👍😍
Love your channel, but PLEASE, for the love of god, don't put spoliers in the video title!!!
Why not?
I’m a Jonas fan but chapeau to Tadej. If he wins Le Tour would love to see him go for The Vuelta but I imagine his legs will be shot. 🎉
Awesome plan and kudos to uae
I'm a fan of Team Visma, and I don't want Pogacar to win, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen this time. I think UAE is looking as dominant in this Tour as Sky/Ineos were in their prime.
5:27 A what? Since when do we use freedom units on this channel, thought that was reserved for the pod only
Pogačar ♥️🇸🇮✌️
Can't help but wonder how a healthy Roglic would have fared, but congrats to Pogacar; well earned win!
Probably the same as the past 3 years, irrelevant and out of the race
would have gotten stomped let's be realistic about it
Healthy roglic have no chance. It is just so hard to compete with vingegaard and pogi.
It was quit cold, was that an advantage for the bigger rider today?
Yes

@@barneybrightbart7080 None. Pogacar pulverised Armstrong's Pla D'Adet climb by 2 minutes.
Don't you know Pogis training plan, cheap lager beer, hyperbaric chambers and climbing staircases in Spain?
Jonas’ day is tomorrow. UAE/pog should use their soldiers defensively (for once). Time for the little lad and mates to do some work!
pogi just makes this whole tdf exciting to watch,i watch just waiting for his explosive attacks its just amazing,he is exciting to watch the best.
The counter is that to have someone so clearly better than anyone actually dulls the excitement.
That's because what he does is not human and not possible without doping sorry not sorry
@@arthurdemange1090 if he's doping so is Jonas. Punctured lung to tour podium in 80 days. Phileas Fogg could never.
I think Pog's dominance is bad for the sport and entertainment (why even watch Strade or Lombardia if he is there, for example) but he is clean @arthurdemange1090
Amazing ride by Pogacar. He”s not a good bullshit artist though - Yates didn’t attack, planned 100%.
Struggling to identify riders in the peloton in a pet peeve of mine as well. The numbers at the bottom of the jerseys are out of date. We need surnames at the tops of the jerseys like other sports.
I'm pulling for Pog, but I trust Jonas more to have saved rounds for a strong attack tomorrow.
