Brian is an excellent guitar building instructor. I finished a redwood top classical and it is now my "go to" guitar, I play it all the time, it sound great. Brian is very patient and the one on one instruction is the best. I learned everything I need to know and more about guitar building, sharpening tools, etc studying with Brian.
I spent 10 days with Brian 15 years ago and learned a lot from him. Even though I was there to learn how to build classical guitars, probably the most useful thing I learned from him was how to sharpen plane irons and chisels. When you have sharp tools to work with, everything else goes easier. By the way, at Brian's recommendation, I bought a Veritas block plane before attending his workshop, and I'm glad I did. My Veritas is probably my favourite luthier tool.
