I tried it with my Cloud Orbits and was like wow this is cool. Then immediately went back to digital surround. Cool feature but imo it’s a gimmick that doesn’t add a lot to the gaming experience. Also if you’re not moving your head around a lot it really does like nothing.
i did, it´s really inmersive with Vr, I was surprised in that area, it was the first thing I tried, on the other hand after updating the firmware the ambient mode stopped working well, when I play or listen to music or I'm in aimeeting, I can not hear anything from those sources, I only hear what surrounds me that yes, quite clearly, but the rest of things are not reproduced.
The USB adapter dongle is connected on the dongle, just separate it, they come connected. The low volume is related to "Audio enhancements" in advanced sound in Windows configurations, uncheck it and you will get more volume (no quality loss), also removing the Quantum Software and it's drivers also increase the volume. Nice video by the way.
JUST bought these (primarily for my Switch). For anyone experiencing volume issues. There are a couple of things I discovered. 1) connecting via Bluetooth is significantly louder, so if you don't need the dongles feature. That's the way to go. 2) if you want to use the dongle, there's a wheel above the volume one that has a controller (game/sound) and human icon (voice chat)... turn that all they way to the controller and BAM. It's now WAY louder baby! 😀 then all you have to do on PC is adjust your game and voice chat volumes to accommodate. You're all very welcome. I knew there had to be a reason a $300-400 headset didn't have some punch.
The Techne is awesome! And faithful followers: update, I upgraded from the awesome JBL Quantum one today to the Quantum 910x, (Xbox version) when you configure the headset in quantum engine, and save your profile while on pC with the dongle connected to the headset, your eq, and settings including rgb transfer over to console. I know because I tried it, but only through usb/ usb dongle not 3.5 aux If you bought a 910x - it works on all devices wirelessly. For Xbox when you plug in the transmitter turn on your headset, your transmitter will blink and stay green saying connected, it’s automatic for Xbox. Series X, On PS5 when you plug in the wireless dongle, press the little button once on the side of the dongle and it will turn white and now you are connected to any other device , pC, ps5, switch etc
Good to read it! So you can change LED colors, EQ and it will transfer over to the Xbox? I ear that this was not possible 🤷🏼♂️ Sorry for my bad English, I’m French ^^
Hey Techne, I have the 810's and I agree with you about the volume. You know the features are there and the sound is capable, but the lack of volume makes it feel like you missed a step somewhere in the setup process. Overall, good review.
For me is enough, i´ve a razer Barracuda and sounds really high but this JBL 910 sounds clear, @ZandRVlog the ambient mode works? when I play or listen to music or I'm in a meeting, I can not hear anything from those sources, I only hear what surrounds me that yes, quite clearly, but the rest of things are not reproduced.
Even though I currently play on a PS4, I picked up the regular JBL 910 headset because of this video. Thank you for your review, I absolutely love this headset!
So I am a student and I travel between my apartment and home every weekend. So the bags these headsets are bringing make it very easy to bring them along.
I have had this headset for 4 months+ now, and still love it. I personally find it loud enough for sure, often turning it down finding myself thinking that definitely did some ear damage aha but with that being said it does seem like it could be louder even, but I don’t think it’s necessarily unless you want hearing aids. The Bluetooth feature is my favourite feature I would say, when the headset is connected to my Xbox I can connect to Bluetooth anytime, which is nice for music, tutorials, or sometimes watching a show while playing slow games like snow runner. To change to eq and lighting you need a pc, which kinda sucks for people like me who simply don’t own a pc or laptop. Luckily it is 2024 and basically everyone else does, so my friend had no issue letting me install the jbl quantum app and change the sound setting’s. I believe I applied the bass boost eq, as I do like a lot of bass myself but the standard eq on the headset has a good amount of bass. The noise cancelling is not super strong, but these are one of those headphones that when you put it on it already cancels out a-lot of noise from sealing your ears in, but the noise cancelation is nice touch but no not a super strong ANC. It is kinda heavy too , and every time I pick them up, where the ear cups are move down the track from being heavy, this isn’t a huge problem just need to be adjusted a lot but there are numbers on the track for adjusting which is nice. I find the surround sound good, my first headset with surround sound and it’s not disappointing. I’m sure other headphones might have better surround sound but no complaints from me, when on it does feel like a 360 speaker around your head. I don’t play with the lights on, I personally don’t really see the point( you don’t see the lights as they are on the side of your head) still a cool feature though seems like it would drain battery life a lot faster, but gaming with no lights and battery life is really good I find, don’t know how long I get without charging but I play hours daily and charge like once a week it seems, not often. Also the charging cable is a really nice touch, nice quality usb to usb-c cord, wrapped in a rope feeling material and it’s like 5 and 1/2 feet? Really long anyways did not measure.
@@Jajor8 oh yeah I found it quite loud, I never really have it on max. And mic is good as well, definitely better mic but I’ve heard this mic through echo on other people and just videos friends have sent me and it sounds good no complaints

I bought these for the Xbox and I completely agree with you. Not enough volume so I returned them but it had good sound with a lot of detail. It’s not your ears
@@MaazFz They are louder because you can increase the volume on the headsets and the dac. Both headsets you are able to hear everything you need to hear like footsteps, call-outs, gunfire and explosions without losing detail. You don’t need a pc to change the eq unless you want more advanced customisation
LETS GO!! teach a class on all these features and functions! JBL seems to be doing good things. I’ve never tested any of their product but if they’re good enough for TeeP then they’re probably good.
Hi, thank you for the review, very interesting headset. Seeing that more and more headsets with simultaneous bluetooth are appearing, is there a chance that you would do a comparison or a top video of this type of headsets in the future? Not straight away, of course, but would you have something like this in your future plans?
Torn between these and the stealth pro for xbox. Only real concern with them is durability. Can't really find a bad thing with these for me. I keep my (halfway broken) stealth 700s at like 20% volume anyways so that isn't an issue. Mic sounds about equal. Sound isn't too big of an issue for me either. I usually just go with whatever EQ people say is best. Simultaneous bluetooth and normal usage is basically a requirement for me, not too big of a worry with the wire though. Kinda worried about how much I need to use a computer to get it set up. The only one I have here makes the old Apollo ships look fancy.

Hi techne just wanted to ask, does the audeze maxwell give the same exitement that the penrose does? I wanted to know since im in the look for a headset and the way you have described the audeze penrose has made very curious. I like the excitement that you say the penrose gives and i prefer story games. But im tempted to buy the maxells for the other features. If there is any way to get the maxells sound close to the penrose, please tell me. I hope you reply😊
Not Techne but I own both. The Maxwell is like the Penrose on steroids. They fixed all the problems from the Penrose with the Maxwell like the wireless and build quality. Maxwells sound amazing but the clamp force is pretty weak and they feel like they’re gonna fall off my head, so I hope Wicked Cushions come out with pads soon.
Never had the Penrose but I own the Maxwell and it can get insanely loud if you desire. I think the Maxwell has top notch immersion sound, however they don't seem to be the best for FPS style games. My A30's, A50's and Nova Pros wireless have way better pinpoint accuracy for footsteps. But the Maxwell shines above them all when when playing games like Destiny, Diablo, Wo long...hope this helps. Oh and I agree clamp force is pretty loose but I find them extremely comfortable.
@@chadsmith9031 Really you don’t think they’re good for FPS? I have the Novas too and they take a lot of work to get them sounding solid. Maxwells stock out the box sound good but I put on immersive and sent it. I can hear people soooo far away.
If you haven’t and can, get them. Super premium feel. Great balance and super clean mic. The only issue I had was that it would shut of at random every few days but after firmware update it never happened again.
Of course I use the baggy to carry my headsets - how else would I get my Logitech GPro X to the office (I would have to be an idiot to use the supplied office style crap py headset)? :)
It would be awesome if you used the Xbox version of the same headset, and the only reason I say that is because the Xbox versions work for all platforms. Also how about checking out the JBL Quantum 360X Wireless headset. I would love to hear your opinion.
It depends on what you need from your headphones. If you compare microphones, the A50 is better. If the microphone is of little importance, then JBL is better, it looks great. I don’t know the sound yet, I ordered it today. But, I watched a lot of reviews. The microphone in the A50 is better. But, JBL has 39 hours of operation. Like A50 to 20. I can't tell you exactly where the best sound for games is. You have to try it here. Because I bought HYPERX 3 wireless and I want to return them to the store. I'll send it tomorrow and have already ordered the JBL 910P
@@Честный-ъ5б I ended up getting the a50s so far no complaints, except the headrest part keeps getting unclipped, but so far, I’m loving the sound. Me personally I love the hyper Xs lol only reason I wanted to get a new headset is I wanted wireless and because I was given 250 dollars in target gift cards 😂.

Nice one.. I guess I have try all the headsets their exist.. from Jbl 910p like this to razer barracuda all the steelseries.. but the audeze Penrose are by far the best headset I have ever tried out.. and that is my choice !!
i´ve the razer barracuda, and although it is true that the JBL 910 sound somewhat low compared to the Razer or others, the clarity in their bass and the rest of the frequencies are noticeable.
@@TheTechne Thanks, I was almost worried! You mind if I ask you for some suggestions/advice on headphones? Just a simple recommendation is all. -Apparently- I have a big head, and I wear glasses too. I dont care about mic quality and highly prefer wireless. Any suggestions you've got? I had a Logitech G733, but it started hurting my jaw/sides of my head after only wearing it for like 10 minutes. I think because of that stretchy band on top which just pulls everything onto my head too tightly. If you have time to make a suggestion for that; Thanks! ~
Most gamers actually don't just choose a headset based on how well you can hear footsteps with them. The minority that do are the ones frequenting UA-cam comment sections and online forums, while the other 95% of gamers are just enjoying their hardware and their games. You simply never hear their voices. Go check Amazon gaming headset bestsellers, and see what I mean. I personally stopped trying to buy ever 'better' gear as it just made me unhappy with my purchases (always afraid of missing out) and tbf I can hear footsteps and sound direction well enough with all of my headsets. Having said that, the JBL 910 is supposedly the wireless counterpart to their older JBL Quantum One which I own, and it's quite good at placing sound in a 3D space when using their recommended 7.1 settings (not so much the head tracking as it will drift over time), so footsteps are easy to locate. Volume/punch is a bit of a problem though, probably the same issue Techne has with the 910.
Microphone sounds horrible 😂😂 (wireless) but 3.5 is... Okay, but not the best. Oh man, also the design, idk about that. Guess I'm to much in love with things like the Audeze Maxwell 👀. Great review.

Thanks both of you really helped
@@chadsmith9031 Really you don’t think they’re good for FPS? I have the Novas too and they take a lot of work to get them sounding solid. Maxwells stock out the box sound good but I put on immersive and sent it. I can hear people soooo far away.
Are the maxwells good for story mode games?
do a comparison between this and 810
Same Quantum one?
Spot on review like always, I’m actually getting the barracuda X 2022 tomorrow. I watched your barracuda X review and it is also really good.
that headset will actually be in a round up headset vid I'm working on ;)
@@TheTechne oh that’s so cool I hope it’s in the A tier!
I use the travel bags / cases for LAN events and am always happy when it comes included :)
FYI, my current favorite headphones is the Koss KPH40 and I just use the Elgato Wave 3 for my mic which I know you recommend :)
How do you get on that website to customize it
It’s a pc app
Thank you for having hoodies my size .. I am a 5xl and it’s hard to find .. thank you will get one soon 😊
These headphones or the Steelseries Arctis 7P+?
These
bro….where is the lucid sounds lx50 xbox I been waiting months now………..
If you haven’t and can, get them. Super premium feel. Great balance and super clean mic. The only issue I had was that it would shut of at random every few days but after firmware update it never happened again.
I got this way cheaper recently and your review is spot on
Of course I use the baggy to carry my headsets - how else would I get my Logitech GPro X to the office (I would have to be an idiot to use the supplied office style crap py headset)? :)
It would be awesome if you used the Xbox version of the same headset, and the only reason I say that is because the Xbox versions work for all platforms.
Also how about checking out the JBL Quantum 360X Wireless headset. I would love to hear your opinion.
compared to the JBL 810 headset, they shed half the weight with this version. just bought them for black friday and sure wish they weighed 426 grams.
which is bettere between this one and maxwell?
Seriously, Maxwell
love you techne!
is the mic detachable?
no
Someone please help me make up my mind, the 910p or the A50, I can’t decide
@@Genesis_twitch_ return if possible, and get the A50x =)
The Techne help me out . I play Warzone and Ranked play and I need good headset that will give me clarity to hear my enemies . I’m alll different directions . CAN YOU HELP ME .
When I said help I meant wich ones you will recommend me to buy . I wasn’t asking to help with with a headset 😂
Budget?
@@dreadsonix3961 I already bought the new turtle beach stealth pros . Thank you .
Use fx studio for more volume
Great review. Thank you.
thank you
👏🏿👏🏽👏🏻Great review

thank you
Nice one.. I guess I have try all the headsets their exist.. from
Jbl 910p like this to razer barracuda all the steelseries.. but the audeze Penrose are by far the best headset I have ever tried out.. and that is my choice !!
Penrose and Maxwell sound quality are incomparable for sure
For sure but not everyone can buy it. Only Esports shall get it. If you sponsor me I will use it.
@@jimmyquan737 lmao no you don’t
i´ve the razer barracuda, and although it is true that the JBL 910 sound somewhat low compared to the Razer or others, the clarity in their bass and the rest of the frequencies are noticeable.
In where i live the price of those is around 1200~1300 dollars... Thats cool
best reviewer on youtube fr
ehhhh thank you so much
I wish ppl review those items after several months cause JBL headphones and buds has a lot of bad opinions about battery life.
I haven't checked your vids in a minute, but now you're all tatted up lol damn
lol, more to come
Mobile compatible? I don’t want to spend spend money buying this and then have sound delays gaming on mobile devices
...What does he mean by ''your ears will get spicy'', warm?

@@TheTechne Thanks, I was almost worried!
You mind if I ask you for some suggestions/advice on headphones? Just a simple recommendation is all.
-Apparently- I have a big head, and I wear glasses too. I dont care about mic quality and highly prefer wireless. Any suggestions you've got?
I had a Logitech G733, but it started hurting my jaw/sides of my head after only wearing it for like 10 minutes. I think because of that stretchy band on top which just pulls everything onto my head too tightly.
If you have time to make a suggestion for that; Thanks! ~
ear pads felt a part after one year, batery life is poor, for less money you can get HyperX Cloud Alpha
About the bag: Yes, absolutly yes.
Features don’t really matter. Gamers just want the best headset for footsteps
what about us story gamers :(
Most gamers actually don't just choose a headset based on how well you can hear footsteps with them.
I use the baggys when I travel lol
Microphone sounds horrible 😂😂 (wireless) but 3.5 is... Okay, but not the best. Oh man, also the design, idk about that. Guess I'm to much in love with things like the Audeze Maxwell 👀. Great review.
I don’t think it sounds terrible
@@minhn2888 listen to the Astro A50x for example, sounds S-Tier, but at the end, if it's fine for you, that's great and the most important thing!. And somewhat subjective as well =)
I cant stand when a company makes a headset for console gaming but you need a pc windows for features thats bull
Agreed. Especially since Xbox runs a variation of windows 11, would it of really been that hard to bring the quantum app to console..
I thought that was a PlayStation headset😅 although I agree that there good even though I haven’t watched the full vid yet I have one but a black kinda one a little worse
the 910p is made for playstation or consoles
179 on Amazon
$150 now
Your ears going they are extremely loud, loud to the point it's to loud .... way better then the latest steel series
lol
Try out the woodjar vest 3 tell me what you think
My 910 finally arrived and I understand what Techne says about the max volume. But, you are right too. The max volume is loud enough, but is a "safe" loud. Dont make your ears bleed. Playing games or watching videos I cant set the max volume, for me is too loud. Sometimes, I just put the max volume if I listening music.
@@gabrielroque9905 For me is enough, i´ve a razer Barracuda and sounds really high but this JBL 910 sounds clear, i´ve a question the ambient mode works? when I play or listen to music or I'm in a meeting, I can not hear anything from those sources, I only hear what surrounds me that yes, quite clearly, but the rest of things are not reproduced. this started to happen when i updated the firmware.
Never use the carrying bag
Une vidéo de 20 min il a allume même pas le casque …
So am I the minority that actually like this headset
I own them but resel for the arctis pro wireless.way better..
jbl nice but nobody need this useless feature and volume power is missing.also Bluetooth .is also to less function.
ana and and..
General Sam’s dad
they just arent loud enough and have no bass idk they feel good and look good but do not sound good
Wow it is so bad microphone. 😊
Nice

My led lights dont come on no more. Do they die out that fast?
Hold the mic button near the 3.5mm headphone jack until the lights turn on
@xqzzuwu I was on all these reviews videos asking this question. Thank u bro it worked
@@toogood1223 No problem. You could also turn it on/off on the JBL quantum engine
He says at 4:15 it feels like a solid plastic and at 4:18 you hear that plastic screeching and about to pop 💀
Damn, that mic is trash
