hello, what do you notice about the sound? I've heard people saying it sounds low on volume but based on what I've read is that you can configure the sound as you please. What do you rate the sound out of 10 in terms of loudness, clarity and overall?
@@fran_tx7 i cant really say tbh, i’m not much of an audiophile so i wouldnt be able to tell the difference that much, but i think it works pretty well and isnt really quiet at all unless you turn it down to be so. The bass in jbl things are apparently supposed to be great tho. The software lets you change the dB variation of a bunch of different Hz things though individually, (31,62,125,250,500,1k,2k,4k,8k,16k) aswell as a few different presets. It has a talkthrough mode and active noise cancellation, both toggleable through a button on the headset (but i never use them bc i have to listen for things outside my headset). You can choose DTS or the jbl quantumsurround for spatial sound (or turn it off entirely). The jbl one is pretty good from what i can tell, you can change the diameter of your head in the software to make it more accurate. Im not exactly saying any of this good or bad tbh cause most of these features i either dont use, or wouldnt be able to tell due to me not being an audiophile, i mostly bought the headset because of the dual channel audio so i could use bluetooth and wireless at same time, alongside the durability of the headset. Only bad thing i’ve had so far isnt really audio related, more quality related. The earpad things have been holding up really well in comparison to the other headsets i had, however the covering for the padding at the headband part did peel away in 1 section, though that might have been due to the rough handling more than anything else. I havent used any other jbl products aside from the quantum 100, but i would recommend getting one of the normal headphones instead of this. I have been told that using normal headphones and a standalone mic is better for both the audio you get, and the audio you send out. I just like the headset type bc of my setup not having room for a mic stand Sorry if this got a bit long 😅 , i didnt wanna leave anything out. If i did leave anything out tho or u wanna ask smth else i’ll be happy to oblige. Btw as you probably heard, the headset is a bit heavy for what you’d think, but not unusable.
I ended up getting the JBL Quantum One. It is wired only, but after watching this video, I am glad I bought it instead of this. I am curious as to what you would have to say about it. I wrote a review and rated it 4/5 stars and here is what I wrote: Regarding the JBL Quantum One: If you are planning to only use this on PC with the JBL Quantum software, this headset is incredible once you dial in your equalizers to your preferences. This headset has absolutely changed how I listen to music. Listening to the same songs in my car, or through other speakers, it doesn’t sound right. The clean audio from the headset allows me to pinpoint details in songs that I never noticed before. In some songs, you can tell the quality of their music producing tools based on the clarity of the music. The headphones really bring out the details. When lower quality content is played, it sticks out like a sore thumb due to how clear the headset is. That’s the fault of the content being played not the headset. It’s a testament to how good the sound is on this headset. The sound is very clean and clear. I have not played anything that has had any distortion. The clarity EQ is closest to where I believe it should be, but I fine tuned it a little bit more to my own liking. For playing games, you will want to decrease the lower frequencies and increase the upper mid to high frequencies. It is a very good headset once you dial in your EQs, and it can handle about anything you can throw at it. The surround sound on this headset is a little strange. The DTS surround sound makes it feel artificially bass-ey. With a little bit of echo. It’s not bad, but not as clean sounding. The JBL Quantum 360 surround sound is absolutely horrendous. I cannot tell that audio is coming from different directions accurately, and it adds a lot of echo making for a messy audio experience that makes it hard to focus on anything. It is best to leave off surround sound. For lower end headsets, DTS surround greatly improved them. But this headset is so good in stereo that the surround diminishes the clean crisp sound quality it would otherwise have. What I have said so far is regarding the USB connection. For AUX, it works. Audio does play through it, but the highs and mids are not very audible while the lows are overly loud to the point that they overpower what is important. The lighting is fun to use, if fits the gamer aesthetic very well, and it is highly customizable. However, you are limited to 10 seconds of animation for the headset. I wish it was 12 seconds so that I could have cleaner animated effects as the wave effects last for 3 seconds. Trying this on Xbox, I went back to my old $60 headset which sounds horrible for music, but does well in the mids and mid high frequencies with nearly no low frequencies. This headset I would avoid if you plan on using the AUX very often. With that said, if you want to use it on PC, it is incredible and I would definitely recommend. Another things to make note of is that the microphone is one of the cleanest sounding I have ever seen on a gaming headset! People in gamechat have actually been impressed without me even bringing it up! Other things to take note of: it’s heavy, but not overly heavy. It has very deep and soft ear cups, but it has a noticeable clamping force, but it’s not uncomfortable. What may turn some people away from this headset is that the ear cups get warm. But that is the cost of noise isolation. Sweat is very easy to clean off, and you probably will be sweating with this headset. However, that’s a drawback that I see as worth it if noise cancelation is important to you. This headset isn’t for everyone, but for those who value noise cancellation, I would highly recommend it if you plan on using it for PC. So the takeaway, if you want a noise canceling headset with high quality sound for PC, this is an excellent and worth the price tag! However on console with AUX, a $50 headset could sometimes beat this. But for USB, it is absolutely worth the $300 or even $150 Black Friday as I bought it.
I got these babies refurbished in August ‘21 from EBay. At the time there was a $15 coupon for refurbished products, bringing my total down from $108 to $93!!! + free shipping. The headset arrived in mint condition and looked completely unused. I just looked - they are still available for $99 refurbished. An absolute NO BRAINER at this price - I feel like I stole something. I love Bluetooth to my phone for discord and usb dongle audio from my PC or PS5. Thanks for further validating my purchase!! Love you, Techne.
I bought these specifically for the Active Noise Cancelation and I literally cannot tell whether the ANC is On or Off. I can even hear myself rubbing my fingers together in a "Money" gesture. I will be taking them back tomorrow. After One-Day of trying it, I am now convinced that Noise Cancelation is a myth.
7 Months later, and the left earcup has completely snapped off. On the other side I can see the right ear-cup starting to crack and break off in the exact same place. There is an entire chunk of plastic missing from where the flimsy plastic broke off. I have never had a headset just fall apart on me like this. Let alone a pair that cost 350 AUD
not me watching this while wearing these. also when you turn on active noise cancellation the bass gets better and the software has been updated since this video came out. honestly it charges really quickly so if it dies you can just go have like a 15 minute snack break. it tells you when the battery is low like 30 minutes early too, so if it dies mid game thats on you for having poor time management. i use these for basically every day use lol.
After i watched a dozen your reviews. I’ve bought this headset 3 months ago. I don't regred. For me Anc is a killer feature. I agree the headset is heavy and sound is not for everybody. Lots of basse and highs, less mids. In game the positioning is great. It might be confusing becouse you hear a lot (i’ve mostly play cs go). I think 150 USD for 2,4 GHz, Bluetooth, ANC, Hi-res 50 mm drivers and very good finishing is a good deal. All the best @ the techne. You doing good job.
I used to have the 800’s and then I got the quantum ones. Both refurb from eBay for a great price. The 800’s have become uncomfortable for me now…the band for some reason itches the top of my head for some reason…and my quantum ones don’t have that problem at all…it is a different design but it’s the same material…I can’t explain it…maybe it’s a padding issue….
they finally made it in later revisions to use while plugged in. i have this specific model and love this headset but i have to remind myself to charge it when im done while other headsets have charge and play as standard lol.
Thanks for the great review video, I have always wanted to get a headset that can do Bluetooth from my phone and Wired/Wireless from my PC at the same time. Was thinking getting Corsair H70 Bluetooth but it has to use wired connection. Artics Pro Wireless can do that but it is too expensive. Now Quantum 800 is the one satisfy the need and not too expensive. Plus it has noise cancellation and ambi sound mode, I think I've found the headset I am looking for.
If you're playing games like Call of Duty this is not the headset it has a hard time separating the sounds from each other. DTS mode sounds better than the surrounds 7.1 But I still wasn't impressed.
Man you got a super magnetic personality. If You Keep that going (Also the super good review from the regular person perspective) this channel is going to slowly but surely turn into the tech juggernaut format. I love ya technee would love to have someone with your energy as a friend on the daily! Cheesy/ corny at moments but fun to be around lol. Have you ever checked out “hardware busters”? They need someone like you to breathe some air into their super Sophisticated typa channel! You and them together somehow. It would literally be the best of two worlds.
Would be interesting as I got a pair when they first launched but returned them. The microphone or microphone beam technology they use sounds so distant and bad. Got the Audeze Penrose X as a replacement with no regrets
I am almost bought this one because i like the dual wireless feature 2.4ghz/Bluetooth but then i knew that the headset cannot be used while charing and its the deal breaker to me
@@RP-dy5mu you still need to turn on the headset to use it with 3.5mm so the answer is no. Many people also complaint about firmware update because you need to connect your headset to pc but everything you plug it in the headset will always turn off and the software cant recognize it. This is the most ridiculous design i ever see.
@@TienTran-uq6to funnily enough i got my headset for the same reason you mentioned above (though it was the upgraded one). the charging thing would have been a problem for me too, but they changed so you could use while charging in the 810 version. I dont doubt many other issues you may have seen complaints about may have been fixed too
Please Help. I bought the 810s 1 month ago. Whenver I enter pubg, the sound drops significantly, I cannot hear properly, even if it is charged at 100%. Then I change to my 2 year old razer nari/naga whatever it is called, and I can hear perfectly, in terms of volume, but i cannot differentiate left back with lef and right back with right. How can i increase game volume? EVERYTHING has been 10x checked. Sound voluem windows right bottom icon, JBL Quantum app in 7.1, game setting of audio master volume at 100%. Please Help
For this price i think the gsp 370 Trumps it.. the highs and lows in that headset is very good.. enjoyable and you can hear steps .. and the software is annoying but useful.... add to that over 60 hours battery life
Yo Techne can we get a review of the Quantum Ones? They have a head tracking feature that I don't know if it's a gimmick or actually useful. It has a different mic, maybe that's improved too?
i have the 600 and you CAN charge it and listen to it through 3.5mm (2.0). however, this requires you to change your audio settings (PC) to a different source. which is inconvenient. that being said the worst part is that its own software will NOT detect it if it is charging
Got them a few days ago and I'm not quite sure what to think. For me they sound really great but the sound quality drops significantly when I switch off ANC (might be subjective, dont know), but ANC intriduces some crackling noises when I move my head. Also the mic arm drops down very easily as there seems to be no lock in the up position whatsoever. Does anyone else have the same experience with the ANC (or the mic for that matter)? Its my first headset with that feature and I don't really know what to expect.
ANC uses microphones and speakers to reduce background and surrounding noises which is ment to be on when you want quality audio, of course quality drops when ANC is off. plus they make the crackling noise because theyre trying to dampen the outside noise but they like catch the headset sounds so you dont have to worry about it. these sounds pretty much fade when you have a video or game running in the background.
honestly bought them yesterday and they're god damn great, i was honestly debating in the store because they had a rack where you could test the 400, 600 , 800 jbl quantums, and the jbl 800 just hit different and fell in love with it instantly. at first i had some rough time setting up the headset because my PC is older than some dinosaurs and doesnt like wireless stuff but got it working somehow. inconclusion i love them and they sound amazing , plus they charge so fast with the mobile charger (approx 20-45 min) and the battery life lasts for me the whole day. (nb also great for travel but make sure you got your preferred settings in the quantum software before going on a trip)
@@ailindagninopalencia9680 No, not even with the cable, the headset just truns off and you cant use them while charging, but tbh if you put them to charge at night you might never need to the battery lasts all day, i WFH and game at night, the headset battery lasts from 9am till like 4am next day on 2.4ghz connection with rgb off(with the rgb on it lasts not even 1/3 of that) so idk where he took the 14hrs only charge from honestly
This is old i know and you probably already bought one of these headsets, i have a corsair HS80 and a JBL Quantum 200, JBL headsets feel very cheap, the design is not really appealing, the mic sucks, one of the worst actually of any headset but the sound if you like heavy techno music is amazing, i also have an Epos H6pro with a GSX 300, Razer Kaira Pro, Corsair HS80, Audeze Penroze X, Steelseries Arctis 9x, 3 Sony, Fidelio X2, Beyerdynamic DT770 pro and soon a Blackshark v2 but for gaming and music i use the Quantum 200 paired with a Fiio E10K TC, i paid 100 bucks for these 2 and they are better than the more expensive ones minus the Audeze Penrose X which costs alone 300 bucks and are also very fragile. To me the most overrated are without a doubt the EPOS H6pros, the best bang for the buck are the JBL Quantum 200 waiting to see if the Blackshark v2 can beat but i doubt, the Corsair HS80 are very well built with an excellent mic but a bit hot to wear, the Penrose are the best soundwise but the build quality is trash.
I know this question isn’t related to headsets, but can you tell me which would be a better mouse G pro superlight or g pro wireless or the viper ultimate Also regarding your g pro wireless and superlight units, did you get any sort of double clicking issue?
Hello sir how are you, I love your video’s and I’ve been watching them for a long time, from Saudi Arabia I have a question, I own astro A50 and i like it but I would like to change it to another wireless gaming headset, and im confused between 2, hyperx cloud 2 wireless, or razer black shark v2 pro, what do you recommend for? And I’ve forgot to minute that im a pro pc gamer and my priority is gaming, call of duty warzone, valorant, apex legends.
Hey Techne, Brilliant video as always. Really enjoy your content. I just picked up a Kaira Pro for my Series X. What do you recommend for EQ settings etc ? Are the presets all bad ?
Eventually im not buying I have JBL quantum last 2 years ago but headband edge got brittle in everyday wear and it dint last for 5 months or less hose they change the plastic headband to all metal headband
Believe hearing your environment is called ‘pass through’ or at least that’s what they label it on my earbuds. But with that said, $200 and I can’t use them while being charged and they’re not stinkin cozy? I’ll pass and stick with the EPOS Hybrids which I’m still loving!
I try Astro 40s Astro 50s Riggs Turtle Beach I’ll be honest I’ve tried the most expensive headsets they all had and once I bought the JBL‘s it made the biggest difference and online gaming especially the best part of this headset you don’t hear no talk through when you speak no buzzing no feedback just straight talk noise cancellation is perfect and see is a plus if you want to turn on the lights it’s for show I don’t use it and who the hell plays for 15 hours straight on the video game I got a life few hours on a video game put them back to charge they are the most perfect headsets I’ve ever purchased well spent money 5 stars JBL ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you're getting this headset and you plan on playing Call of Duty or anything like that do not get it. It seemed like when you put it on the surround sound it meshed all the sounds together it didn't separate tseparate them I couldn't hear people's footsteps like I could on other headsets. When I fired my gun it sounded like my gun was far away instead of directly in front of me. When I switched it over to DTS it sounded much better but still it's not as good as some of the Dolby atmos headsets. I haven't returned the headset yet I'm going to dabble with the EQ and see if I can't get it sounding better better if not it's going back.
Can get the Quantum One for a tiny bit more if you can live with a cable. And I just have to say the Quantum 360 surround is super awesome for directional audio. Before the One I would just use stereo as well.

Interesting product and nice looking imo 🥰👍🤩. What can I say …. Another great Techne review full of passion, energy & honest feedback listing both the “goods & bads” of a product! As a person who sometimes where’s glasses when gaming (& sometimes gaming glasses), I appreciate the fact you take the time to test the comfort factor as yes, some headsets do cause pressure on your glasses and ultimately the sides of your head. The mic sounds a little compressed & weight for me is a bit much for my liking as I prefer lighter headsets. Thanks once again for all your time, effort & honest feedback with your videos. Cheers 🍻
the jbl quantum 400 is a way better choice if willing to compromise a bit of asthetics and build quality cuz they connect via usb C and 3.5 mm. they are 274 gramsn tho which may be heavy for some but overall they do it beter than these cuz of it's amazing price and features
Been using them HEAVILY for more than 1 year and the only things i have to complain are: 1- How heavy they are and hot your ears can get after a long sesh 2- How absolutely irritating, frustrating and ANNOYING the connect/disconnect/low battery sounds are, fuck those guitar sounds everytime you get just a little bit close to the connection treshold, can't even get to my kitchen without hearing them LOUD AS FUCK in my ears, it's so bad and if you got chill music playing softly in the background, they will BLOW YOUR EARS OUT and it pisses me off that you can't turn them off 3- The mic is eh, for a wireless headset is not the worst but i would recommend a external mic if you want to stream/make videos, but the mic is flexible and you can take them out of your face techne lol Now the rest is great, battery with rgb off lasts the whole day(i WFH and game the night, 9am to 4am on the next day) no need to turn rgb on honestly, never had the need to charge them while using and i can count on my hand the ammount of times they died on me and i have to pull the cable out, just charge them at night and you will be fine, sound is great, the JBL app has a EQ for them but JBLsurround is really mid, the earcups are easily replaceable if they start to wear down like mine did a year later. The wireless connection is a trade, while the bluetooth can reach my whole house the battery lasts longer on 2.4ghz but you can't go that far on it like only in my bedroom. Now ANC is alright won't isolate you but gets the job done, and talk through is really good you can hear anything crystal clear and go back to your music with a press of a button, the dial to switch between game and chat volume on the headset is the best thing ever, i like them a lot and paired with dolby atmos is a go!
Nah fam. If i get an headset with a mic i AT LEAST expect it to be half decent, not a doorbell quality mic from 1990. For that price point too? Forget it.
Well the review was really nice, but... The microphone is terrible o_O. It does look cool etc. But not for me :) maybe they bring another one and rework some stuff!

The review was over when you said they can't be used while charging. They could cost $80 and I still wouldn't buy them.
Maybe look into the JBL Quantum One instead. They are JBL’s flagship gaming headset. But it’s wired only. I own that and it’s great on PC
I agree.. .that's a pretty bad design choice for a headset packed with so many features. It's like how did they omit that?
Peeps that want to charge and use same time...
@@shzka0 it's not a matter of doing it. It's being. ABLE to do it.

Are these usable for a Motorola 5g phone
Let alone a pair that cost 350 AUD
not me watching this while wearing these. also when you turn on active noise cancellation the bass gets better and the software has been updated since this video came out. honestly it charges really quickly so if it dies you can just go have like a 15 minute snack break. it tells you when the battery is low like 30 minutes early too, so if it dies mid game thats on you for having poor time management. i use these for basically every day use lol.
thank you for this :) seems the newer 810 is a safe bet then?
i have a problem can someone tell me why i cant hear any sounds in a game which are comming from the left or right with the quantum 800
Another great review. Now I'm looking for a wireless headset with bluetooth for up to $200.00 for a PS5. What other headsets can you recommend.
You doing good job.
oh heck yeah, this thing is packing a punch for 150$
I used to have the 800’s and then I got the quantum ones.
Hey technne would you recommend turtle Beach racon 70 for people with glasses, I also find most headsets uncomfortable

@@RP-dy5mu you still need to turn on the headset to use it with 3.5mm so the answer is no. Yo Techne can we get a review of the Quantum Ones? They have a head tracking feature that I don't know if it's a gimmick or actually useful. It has a different mic, maybe that's improved too?
What about the quantum one?
This or the turtle beach 700 gen 2 max or steelseries Nova 7p?
For someone who plays Warzone - would you recommend these or the Razer Blackshark v2 pros?
i dont think JBL has nailed the gaming headset formula yet.
Same here, I own the Quantum One. It’s great, but the issue is that it’s not plug and play. But it’s incredible on PC over USB, but not AUX
Too true
i have the 600 and you CAN charge it and listen to it through 3.5mm (2.0). however, this requires you to change your audio settings (PC) to a different source. which is inconvenient. that being said the worst part is that its own software will NOT detect it if it is charging
Would the Corsair virtuoso rgb be an upgrade from the jbl 800? I really want a white wireless headset.
Can I put some wicked cushions on em??
I wish I could turn down how loud the startup sound is. it hurts my ears
Can i replace the broken mic on quantum 800??
Hello, is there anyway to buy another usb wire dongle for this headset?
honestly bought them yesterday and they're god damn great, i was honestly debating in the store because they had a rack where you could test the 400, 600 , 800 jbl quantums, and the jbl 800 just hit different and fell in love with it instantly.
at first i had some rough time setting up the headset because my PC is older than some dinosaurs and doesnt like wireless stuff but got it working somehow.
inconclusion i love them and they sound amazing , plus they charge so fast with the mobile charger (approx 20-45 min) and the battery life lasts for me the whole day. (nb also great for travel but make sure you got your preferred settings in the quantum software before going on a trip)
Hi! I have a question, can u use them while charging? Not every headset allows that and I think it's one of the most important functionalities 🤔
Hello. Anyone know how i can put ringtone in the headset? Nothing works. I miss all my incoming call
How is ANC
So here goes, what would be your choice for gaming headsets, the JBL or Corsair HS80???? Outstanding Review as always.
I know this question isn’t related to headsets, but can you tell me which would be a better mouse

I see this is an old comment, but did you find some magical EQ settings for FPS games to more accurately hear sounds?

I love this headsets. the only down side is when charging it turns off.
Can get the Quantum One for a tiny bit more if you can live with a cable. And I just have to say the Quantum 360 surround is super awesome for directional audio. Before the One I would just use stereo as well.
I ended up getting the JBL Quantum One. It is wired only, but after watching this video, I am glad I bought it instead of this.
I wrote a review and rated it 4/5 stars and here is what I wrote:
Regarding the JBL Quantum One:
If you are planning to only use this on PC with the JBL Quantum software, this headset is incredible once you dial in your equalizers to your preferences.
Sweat is very easy to clean off, and you probably will be sweating with this headset, but that’s a drawback that I saw is worth it if noise cancelation is important to you.
@@BooliumNor We have very different experiences with the Quantum Surround it seems! For me it works brilliantly in games, I do turn it off for music. It even works for vertical spatialization. Cheers 🍻
Do the Quantum One👀
very good review!
Them forks broke twice on my 400s
the jbl quantum 400 is a way better choice if willing to compromise a bit of asthetics and build quality cuz they connect via usb C and 3.5 mm. they are 274 gramsn tho which may be heavy for some but overall they do it beter than these cuz of it's amazing price and features
That microphone sounds horrendous. I still stand by the Corsair HS80. Amazing sound and amazing microphone.
100% agree
So what I learned from this video: Shockingly < Stinkin'
That mic is either horrible or the gain was too high.
What do u think of the current state Of warzone? Pretty sad isn’t it
Oh wow...just woke up and saw this...been waiting for you to review this and the quantum one...got the quantum one last year.
Been using them HEAVILY for more than 1 year and the only things i have to complain are:
1- How heavy they are and hot your ears can get after a long sesh
2- How absolutely irritating, frustrating and ANNOYING the connect/disconnect/low battery sounds are, fuck those guitar sounds everytime you get just a little bit close to the connection treshold, can't even get to my kitchen without hearing them LOUD AS FUCK in my ears, it's so bad and if you got chill music playing softly in the background, they will BLOW YOUR EARS OUT and it pisses me off that you can't turn them off
3- The mic is eh, for a wireless headset is not the worst but i would recommend a external mic if you want to stream/make videos, but the mic is flexible and you can take them out of your face techne lol
Now the rest is great, battery with rgb off lasts the whole day(i WFH and game the night, 9am to 4am on the next day) no need to turn rgb on honestly, never had the need to charge them while using and i can count on my hand the ammount of times they died on me and i have to pull the cable out, just charge them at night and you will be fine, sound is great, the JBL app has a EQ for them but JBLsurround is really mid, the earcups are easily replaceable if they start to wear down like mine did a year later.
I won this around the same time but last year still haven't used it yet hahah imma let my ASTRO 10 literally die before I use it haha
they're $160 on amazon right now.
I have it and very heavy and not comfortable at all after 6 month i use it
but great sound
When you said can’t use it when it charge I canceled it from Amazon 🤕🤕🤕
but they chare up fast and last pretty much whole day. (using a mobile charger they charge up to 40% within 10 minutes for me)
i bought 1 but so fast to drain the bat!
Nah fam. If i get an headset with a mic i AT LEAST expect it to be half decent, not a doorbell quality mic from 1990. For that price point too? Forget it.
Dude great review man I told you these were fire 🔥 great review !!!!!!! But the new EPOS H3 pro hybrids are the best hands down
