    TEXT:
    Forest night, you, wondrously refreshing,
    whom I greet a thousand times,
    after the noisy turmoil of the world,
    O, how sweet is your rustling!
    Dreamily I nestle my weary limbs
    in your tender moss.
    And for me, it is as if I were
    free of all the senseless anguish.
    In those secret close circles,
    you are healed, restless heart,
    and a sense of peace floats downward
    on lightly beating wings.
    Sing me, lovely birdsongs, to gentle sleep.
    Senseless anguish, be gone with you;
    Restless heart, now a good night!
