Great edits as always! Question; could one use fishing line to remove the screen cover? Just an old trick I remember using to debadge car emblems back in the day! 😆
Yes… I actually did that in another Casio video.. the method I was exactly the same. You have to buy color polarized film… . I have a video up where I experimented by doing a negative film on bottom and over layered positive orientated colored film on an AE1300.. came out super cool 😎
Hello, if I'm understanding correctly the process, no need to put a positive polarized filter on the top right corner under the yellow film ? Thanks for your repply. Great work !
No… it’s a regular polarized film in standard orientation, I installed a yellow filter to the bezel that goes on top of the movement for that corner Great question 👍
@@WatchandcutgearchannelHmm. I just bought some on ebay for my new W series (different watch, same case and lugs). Haven't opened them up yet, but they were advertised for these models specifically. I've even seen other youtubers doing the mod. Here's one. Did I miss something? He's using some rubber straps, but I'm putting it on my Nato strap.ua-cam.com/video/M7ymdGMq_jg/v-deo.htmlsi=30zqtYRw8_Q1Epw5
As done as the screen protectors are, they reduce glare a bit and stop fingerprints and water spots. Will help view the readout with the new filters. Would be cool to see the bright LED mod combined with the glow in the dark tape. The rest is awesome and it will end up being the most heavily moded royal ever.
i only want mineral or at best saphir glas, but i dont find it anywhere to buy... thanks now i know for negative display i only need this polarized window
Thank you so much 😊 keep posted .. I’m building another Casio soon in bronze and I’m building a Seiko from scratch.. I’m gonna show step by step how to do these yourselves .. it’s a lot of fun. And I love to suck everyone into the hobby as much as possible! Some of these projects can be done pretty reasonably… plus you get the satisfaction of looking at it and knowing you put that together and tuned it’s heart beat. Welcome to the channel 🫡
Do you HAVE to remove the screen protector to put color gels and polarizer on there? I only ask because I’m not very good at detailed work like that so if I could just overlay the filters (albeit not AS GOOD result) that would be great.
I’m about to release another video in about a week where I do another screen mod with film on an SKXMod kit. I show the mod a little better on it. If you want to use color filters you’ll have to remove the back, remove the module and the bezel will fall out. Then you can use model glue to mount what ever filter you want on the backside of the bezel.
Well I’m new too the hobby, I have nothing but time and patience, and thankfully too your videos I have a giant reference of how too do things nice, and properly
@@davidbreitwieser3591 thanks so much for the kind words… these comments brighten up my day… the one who I learned from is WatchNCarrry .. he’s way better then me. I’m about to do a series building a custom Seiko SKX Willard conversion from scratch! Should be a blast to do.
This was just an experiment… I’ve done about 6 of them for a couple friends… my friend from the WatchNCarry channel does a better job.. he does custom work for ppl 😎
Best video for negative display i now understand how to do for negative hours display and keep positive on top , thanks
😎👍 Thanks for letting me know I love hearing it when it helps people
Such a unique build! The case is really cool! Great video Alex 👍
Thanks bud part two comes out on Friday
This is next level mod. O wonder if I can also turn the negative display on my CasiOak into positive? It'd be awesome...
It could be done … it’s just film you change on the display
@@Watchandcutgearchannel I'm sure that if you mod a CasiOak from negative to positive display, you'd have a lot of views... And I'd have a tutorial 😅
@@tomanicolae8200I thought about it but they already come that way on a lot of versions… meh 🫤
Wow, now it looks like an SKMEI watch!
Lol 😂 👍 ok thanks for watching
Very nice combo. I enjoyed this a lot.
Awesome 😎

Lmao 🤣 yes they wouldn’t be happy
@@Watchandcutgearchannel btw any idea if the piezoelectric speaker can be changed or modded for a different alarm sound?
@@LokiTokiMan I’ve considered upgrading the led light but I haven’t considered that…
Thanks for sharing that how to positive to be negative. However, do you know how to change the number colour black to other colour, please?

Get some 22mm Jaysandkays lug adapters to get a 22mm Nato strap on it.
Those adapters unfortunately don’t fit this case

This was the glow in the dark tape (lume) mod
That’s a Fantastic idea 💡
I’ve seen ppl do this one … I definitely want to try it
I went with tritium instead of glow tape and opted for a green and blue LED, looks pretty nice.

@@Watchandcutgearchannel and thanks for the im-video shoutout
Would rubbing alcohol help remove the top layer of the lcd? Or would it hurt it, I know acetone is no good but Would isopropyl alcohol work?
It most definitely would! But I think it would take longer…

Nice work. I just recently modded mine too.

Wow looks awesome! I will say your shaky hands and sloppy job drove me nuts though. Gah!
Thanks for watching 👍
whats the thickness for the film????? i dont know 0.3mm is ok???
0.3 is fine… that’s the standard thickness for Color filter…
Do you do this custom work and sell them? I’d be interested myself I believe I’d ruin the watch because I am not as handy as you.

I like kranio design, but I wish the engraved all the Casio text on case and facemasks
I haven’t put one together yet, but I do have the kit at home… maybe check out the SKXMOD kit.. I think that one has all the engraving on it
