Mr Martin, I'm 54 years old and a military retiree, and grew up learning about different techniques about bass fishing from your father and others on tv. I want to thank you for taking the time to use the different media platforms available today to pass on your knowledge about the sport of bass fishing. When I was growing up we had just the 30 minutes of what we saw on TV and if we missed something we didn't have to opportunity to go back and start over from the beginning. As a professional in the sport of bass fishing we know you have many responsibilities to fulfill for your sponsors and to your family, but you still take the time to put together these video's to teach us some of the things you've learned along the way during your career and for that I just wanted to say Thank You.
I'm a Gen Z fisherman that has spent most my life on computers/video games and gotta say it's refreshing to see a wholesome comment like this instead of the toxic stuff I'm used to
Thank you for the views, likes and comments! I try to respond to most of them and I read them all. Help me get this page to 100K by Jan 1st...We can do it. Thanks for sharing the Channel and Videos
Scott Martin I love your devotion to the fans man people like you really keep this sport alive and your videos are honestly are what have put the bug in me so bad I find myself trying to find a way to throw a few casts every single day lol
Rookie here as well. It's a little overwhelming how much stuff there is to learn. I would love a universal rod/reel/line combo that was good for numerous lure types.
I watch your dad's videos all the time and have for quite some time and now I and following you too!! I learn so much for your dad and equally now from you!!! I like right now on this video I learned to not yank the spinner out of the weeds but use the reel and reel it out! Good tip!!! Thanks!!!
You come from a big name family of bass fishing but you are your own man. You are not only a great fisherman but an exceptional teacher. Thank you for taking the time to instruct us weekenders.
You are definitely your Dads Son.I met him many years ago,you were probably a twinkle in his eye .He was fishing at Mead(my home lake)he told me just pay attention to the water temp and adjust accordingly. We catch a lot of fish on Mead and Mohave since his great advice. Carry on Mr. Scott.
Brother, you are the new authority in fishing tips and awesome footage! I'm putting up the money to fish the 2020 FLW tour season as a pro. I hope to see you out there and maybe hang out, I'll pickup dinner for your crew. Keep up the good work Scott, one of my favorite anglers out there.
I thought I has subscribed to your channel a while back. Turns out I hadn't so I rectified that today. Love the great tips on spinnerbaits! They have been my go to fish finding baits for years. It was my first ever confidence bait. It's amazing as I watched your video how much my dad had taught me about spinnerbait fishing back in the mid to late 70's. We used to kill em in Ohio farm ponds and gravel pits in early spring fishing a single Colorado blade with the rod tip up and just reeling enough to feel that blade thump the end of the rod. So much fun!!! Thanks for the great video. (I enjoyed the willow leaf video also.)
This is all such good info; pleased to know I'm doing some stuff right. Love my Okuma steelhead rod, Mini Kings with trailers and a lead shot squashed on for sinkage, or Booyahs with the painted blade swapped for a shiny one. Easy to fish, easy to experiment with, not snaggy. We even catch trout this way, and once hooked a musky.
gotta love the ol spinnerbait. most of the time if i take someone new to fishing out i give em a ribbon tail and a spinnerbait, easy to learn baits but always some extra things to learn.
Hey, Scott! What's with the orange painted Indiana or Colorado blades. Is it a trend or does it really help? Also found some old spinner baits of my Dad's with dimpled Colorado blades. Changed the skirts to red and black. The bass just love them! I usually have Chartreuse and White skirts. That work well. Has the spinner bait been replaced by the Chatterbait? Thanks, For your Pro opinon. Shawn.
Thanks, Scott for sharing your knowledge with us. I am sort of a newbie when it comes to bass fishing, but I love the sport. I am constantly looking for ways to improve my skills and your videos definitely help. Yesterday I got 3 basses on my community pond on a very cloudy somewhat windy day. :-)
Fished a double Colorado blade back in late May and caught a couple 8 pounders in a row in a central Florida lake followed by a 6 and a couple of 4s. It was a sunny hot late afternoon. Love the videos, keep up the great work. LOL and your Dad is the Man.
Hey Scott, I just watched this for the first time, it's great to live near Ochochobee to, and it's great to see you asked for 100K, and a year later you're at 215K Congrats young man, you're carrying your Family Legacy in Style..TightLines Champ 👍🎣🎣🎣😜🎣
thanks for having the channel scott, i learned so much just from watching your vids. i was at a lost for the spinner bait, but now i know i can go out and get them
Great tips Scott. I love fishing spinnerbaits but I have never fished a double Colorado blade will have to try them out. cant wait to see the double willow leaf tips next.
You'll want to subscribe, Scott is always giving great information and he will get you onto fish in your own fisheries. Good video again. I've been wanting tips on Colorado Blades over here on the CA Delta
What is your advice for how tight/loose the drag should be set when fishing a spinnerbait? I lost 2 giant smallmouth on Saturday in a tournament, and I am not sure if my drag setting was the issue.
So I know that spinner baits are really good when it is windy and cloudy. But what would be the opposite of a spinner bait? Like what would be a good lure to throw when there are no clouds and it is really calm like 0 to 5mph wind?
Hey Bro can you possible go over the differnces in using conventional and spinning gear? and go over why line twist is such a problem when running spinning gear, wind knots etc... ? ive been asked by many what the differnces and advantages of both. ive watch many of your vids and watched your Dad growing up on tv and learned so much!!! (im 43yrs and a dad) Your explanation of techniques and methods are on Point and think that people need a refresher in the matter!!! Your truly an awesome person/fisherman and an inspiration for many! thanks Scott !!!
Nice Scott! Its funny one of my go to spinnerbaits for this kinda situation is very similar to yours! Its a booyah tux tail chartruese and white skirt with 2 hammered colorado blades silver and gold. I slow roll that beast and catch slobs including pike. Its tons of fun! Although it seems alot of my favs are no longer in production so i have to search ebay and the internet to find my old trusties!! Fish on!!
You should watch some of mike iaconnelli’s vids. He is a pro like Scott Martin and he fishes up there in a ton of vids. Snakeheads and largies AND smallies in that river I believe!
love the videos man I been throwing a chrome on bottom kinda perch striped jerkbait and it's been producing the fall fish I might throw the spinner tommorow, I wanted to go finesse today but couldn't find my worm hooks gonna have to go to Cabela's and with the moon being the way it was I think finesse woulda been great. Thanks for the share I like the tips and tricks, I'm officially a Scott Martin fan
I see precision casting is so important, I use spinning, not as accurate. Im37, fish whenever possible, need advise on quality combo or rod/reel. Baitcaster. Spend ~100-150 bucks. Medium size lakes, big bass, lots of pads, also open water Smallmouth/walleye? Size action power??
You are the only and first fishing pro I've subbed to, excellent vid, and great info, I will definitely use the info you threw out to improve my spinner bait technical use. I do have to ask, what spinner would you recommend for using off a dock in murky water with little cover
Mr.Martin I grew up fishing in Texas salt water and have recently moved to Central Texas area were there are fresh water lakes .So i am having learn a whole new way of fishing.I have been watching some of your video's and I wanted to know what lures to use in Hot and Humid weather
Best baitcaster bang/buck? Fish every weekend, spinning though? Med size Inland lakes (Michigan), Lilly pads& open water for smallys n walleye? $100-150??
Excellent video. I Love spinnerbaits. You definitely get a lot of bang for your buck using them. I've only lost about 3 this year but caught a crap ton with each one.
I like straight Flouro or mono...braid only if it is super nasty. They thicker line makes it go slower. They next video I discuss the braid in the the grass
Great video and tips thanks! im just wondering how often when you are working a bank like this that you get hung up on the bank vegetation? I fish mostly from my kayak and it happens quite often.
Mr.Matin. I have lived on lake okeechobee for almost 10 years and I'm 16. And I just was wondering next time I'm down there I wanna team up and go bass fishing. I live in New York now. But I had a blast fishing on lake okeechobee.
Nice tips! Really like the rod positioning one that helps remind me to keep the lure closer to cover. Question-What size spinnerbait is that? Reason asking is I like throwing 1/4 to 3/8 a lot and trying to find that perfect rod. Been eyeballing the tcs series. Another problem I come across with this, is that most rods are to fast and when the bass hammers it they feel the resistance before I’m able to get a good hookset and they spit it. A good recommendation on a rod for what I’m looking for would be great! Thanks, Blaine
Fantastic channel Scott. Thanks for sharing what you do man. If you had to fish small lakes with very little cover in the summer months what baits and strategies would you recommend?
I fish a muddy bottom lake and it's hard to fish because there really isn't much cover if any at all and I can't seem to get the bass to bite in the deeper water I was wonder if I could get a few tips on how to fish in this situation?
water color, overcast, undercast, what's the bait fish, water depth, target fish species, coverage, structure, tidal, water temp, and having the rod/reel/line setup.
amazing video as always Scott, spinner baits are my favorite baits and thanks for the extra tips man I will be sure to apply them next time I am on the water! thanks man!
Hey Scott I have a question. I was fishing with a spinner bait this weekend with braid because I know you can cast further. But for some reason I can't seam to chuck my lure out into the water. Could it maybe be a problem with my reel or technique for a casting reel . I'm fairly new to a casting reel. If I have the same thing setup on spinning gear I can throw it out far. So that's why I'm thinking it could be just a bad reel. Any help would be awesome!! Thanks man keep up the great work
Do a Video on the different "SIZE" Blades to use for a particular situation.I Get so Tired of people (Not You) just saying use willow leaf in clear water, Use Colorado in muddy, so on and so on, but they don't tell you *WHAT SIZE OF THAT Particular BLADE TO USE* In Relation to the size of the spinnerbait. Show us *what size willow 3,4,5,6 etc, what size Colorado 3,4,5, etc. what size Indiana ,3,4,5 etc and combinations for clear, stain, muddy, & Tannins colored water etc.* That Would help out alot Dawg!

Rookie fisherman here. Thank you for keeping it simple, yet extremely informative. You are a good teacher!
Rookie here too. Trying to figure out an easy to use rod and reel set up.
Rookie here as well. It's a little overwhelming how much stuff there is to learn. I would love a universal rod/reel/line combo that was good for numerous lure types.
Wow , now you guys should be amateurs .. I'm a newbie who had just started fishing and theres a lot to learn 😭
I watch your dad's videos all the time and have for quite some time and now I and following you too!! I learn so much for your dad and equally now from you!!! I like right now on this video I learned to not yank the spinner out of the weeds but use the reel and reel it out! Good tip!!! Thanks!!!

Scott.

Not sure how you only have 263k subs. Best fishing channel in UA-cam hands down. Question for you Scott - ever fished up here in Maine?
I thought I has subscribed to your channel a while back. Turns out I hadn't so I rectified that today. Love the great tips on spinnerbaits! They have been my go to fish finding baits for years. gotta love the ol spinnerbait.

Great video. Clear explanation and demonstration of how to fish with a spinnerbait and then backs it up by catching a couple. Thanks.
Thank you for the tip about overcast vs sunny when using a spinner bait. That explains a lot!
I'm a big fan of putting a grub (twister or otherwise) on a single Colorado blade. It works better than a lot of others and casts further.
Fished a double Colorado blade back in late May and caught a couple 8 pounders in a row in a central Florida lake followed by a 6 and a couple of 4s. It was a sunny hot late afternoon. Love the videos, keep up the great work. LOL and your Dad is the Man.

I love these videos they really help me out fishing, the more videos like this the better! Thanks Scott

Great tips Scott. I love fishing spinnerbaits but I have never fished a double Colorado blade will have to try them out. cant wait to see the double willow leaf tips next.
I enjoy Scott’s videos. He’s a sharp dude.
Used to use a 5'6 pistol grip to roll cast spinnerbait up close.
would love to see you try a Strike King bitsy bug jig with a Zoom fat Albert grub as a trailer. Just trust me it works wonders.
Rock River Bassin he needs zero help, clearly. Go toot your own horn elsewhere
You'll want to subscribe, Scott is always giving great information and he will get you onto fish in your own fisheries. Good video again. I've been wanting tips on Colorado Blades over here on the CA Delta
I caught 3 bass yesterday on a chatter worm, lol black and purple chatter bait with a black trick worm trailer. worked awesome. 3 pound average
Your shirt and boat reminds me of Wayne's world...when Garth is in the Reebok outfit... "It's like people only do things because they get paid"
Hi..im in..delaware..
I love fishing a spinner in the fall, but if it were me during an overcast in the fall I would through a topwater bait, like a frog. But great video!
Should I be using a bobber and a sinker when I throw spinners?
You are my new favorite Pro your love of fishing and your love of the fans is awesome. It would be awesome to meet you and fish with you.
If you were in a stained lake would you use the same concept as of fishing plastic worms? (dark bait for stained and light bait for clear)?
What is your advice for how tight/loose the drag should be set when fishing a spinnerbait? I lost 2 giant smallmouth on Saturday in a tournament, and I am not sure if my drag setting was the issue.
thanks scott great info your fan in chapel hill nc tar heel bass.. are you going to be at expo this year in Raleigh?
Greensboro

Awesone tips!! I love that song lol. I used it in a few of my videos too!
one of my favorite Anglers... watch all your uploads... watchn from Az.... love me some spinner action.. thanks for the tips
What was it about the conditions that meant you prefered the slower moving Colorado blades?
Was it just in less clear water?
great video scott. ive never had confident in spinnerbait but i think i will try it again, thanks for the tip
You're welcome!
Nice Scott! Its funny one of my go to spinnerbaits for this kinda situation is very similar to yours! Its a booyah tux tail chartruese and white skirt with 2 hammered colorado blades silver and gold. What should I do on a river bank fishing Rocky and muddy shorelines and little to no cover...i fishing in the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania

Thanks man u rock love your attitude hope u have a great year 👍🤓
Would there be any problems if used braided line(with fluro leader) on a medium heavy for slinnerbait fishing?
I see precision casting is so important, I use spinning, not as accurate. Im37, fish whenever possible, need advise on quality combo or rod/reel. Baitcaster. Spend ~100-150 bucks. Medium size lakes, big bass, lots of pads, also open water Smallmouth/walleye? Size action power??
Thank you Scott been waiting for this thanks agian best fisherman in the world
You're welcome!!
Thanks for the reply that's awesome
Scott, what about water clarity? Is a spinner bait effective when fishing clear water?
You are the only and first fishing pro I've subbed to, excellent vid, and great info, I will definitely use the info you threw out to improve my spinner bait technical use. I do have to ask, what spinner would you recommend for using off a dock in murky water with little cover
Mr.Martin I grew up fishing in Texas salt water and have recently moved to Central Texas area were there are fresh water lakes .So i am having learn a whole new way of fishing.I have been watching some of your video's and I wanted to know what lures to use in Hot and Humid weather
Great tips and video. I subscribed to your channel because you do give tips and thank you for that
Do you have a color preference or do you just try to match the hatch?
really cool video dude. really enjoyed it. and learned something too.
started using the 6'9" apc for my spinnerbaits last year...great rod
What is a good rod, reel and bait selection for beginner fishermen? Also do you suggest starting at a pond, lake or saltwater?
I don’t have a boat I do fishing off shore so is a spinner bait a good choice I have a ugly stick fishing rod ive had for years
Best baitcaster bang/buck? Fish every weekend, spinning though? Med size Inland lakes (Michigan), Lilly pads& open water for smallys n walleye? $100-150??
Great video going to try this technique tmrw
thanks for all the tips scott hopefully next time im on a spinner bait bite I'll get that extra couple of bites
Excellent video. I Love spinnerbaits. You definitely get a lot of bang for your buck using them. I've only lost about 3 this year but caught a crap ton with each one.
I’ve never used a spinner bait and this helps a lot on how to use the and what ones to get thank you
Would both of these work the same with straight 20lb braid? should i add a flouro leader to it or just have an extra rod/reel on straight flouro
I like straight Flouro or mono...braid only if it is super nasty. They thicker line makes it go slower. They next video I discuss the braid in the the grass
great video Scott but do you add a trailer hook also with your trailer bait?
Great video and tips thanks!
im just wondering how often when you are working a bank like this that you get hung up on the bank vegetation? I fish mostly from my kayak and it happens quite often.
What kind of trailer do you use for your spinnerbaits
Mr.Matin. I have lived on lake okeechobee for almost 10 years and I'm 16. And I just was wondering next time I'm down there I wanna team up and go bass fishing. I live in New York now. But I had a blast fishing on lake okeechobee.
So what if you can't have 4 rods? What is a good rod for only being able to have one?
Hello mr....just want to ask can i use spinnerbait on a murky water river....
I have always sucked at spinnerbait fishing , thanks for the tips.
Your welcome!
Scott your a awsome fishmen i enjoyed watching your dads fishing show when i was a kid good luck this season
Been fallowing you on my other channel and I have learned so much watching them. Thanks
Try replacing your blades with an Indiana blade. They are between a Colorado and willow leaf. Best of both worlds!
I fish a muddy bottom lake and it's hard to fish because there really isn't much cover if any at all and I can't seem to get the bass to bite in the deeper water I was wonder if I could get a few tips on how to fish in this situation?
Caleb Shaw Try a drop shot, sounds like the fish may be suspended.
What I want to know is how do you pick the color combination you are going to use?
How much sunlight or how dirty the water is
water color, overcast, undercast, what's the bait fish, water depth, target fish species, coverage, structure, tidal, water temp, and having the rod/reel/line setup.
Scott ur my favorite fisher to watch you should get ur own line of fishing gear
what is your thoughts on plastics for a spinner bait. my cousin superglues his onto the bait.
Topp57 no need for it really.
amazing video as always Scott, spinner baits are my favorite baits and thanks for the extra tips man I will be sure to apply them next time I am on the water! thanks man!
You're welcome

White or gold color
Nice Eagle Claw Trokar shirt. I work for Eagle Claw!
I saw you didnt have a trailer hook was that just for the video or do you usually not use one?
Not much in very grassy lake
Blades and color for gin clear Lake Mead?...

Thanks man keep up the great work
You might have your flipping switch on on your bait caster
Does it matter what color you use?
what trailer did you use?
great video Scott! I completely agree about spinnerbait blade selections
