    "It only ends once. Everything that happens before that is just progress."
    Most epic reveal ever of the two most mysterious characters of the show. I wish all of Season 6 was about their flashbacks growing up on the island, coming up with the rules, playing games as different groups of people landed on the island- all building up to the finale.

      The fact they didn’t spoon feed answers is what makes the show so great. 12 years after it ended and people still debate its meaning, plot points, cannon etc. they managed to con ABC into a castaway concept and turned it into high concept with a high budget.
      These days lost would be made easily by one of the streaming services like Netflix as they need ‘event content’, but in 2004 there was nothing like lost on tv.

      People live and die every day on or off the Island. Around the world we live in grace, bliss and prosperity and we also die in poverty, addiction, disease and loneliness. The Island brought many people more than they could ever hope to feel or achieve outside of it, and terrible things for others. It is no different than the chance of fate in a mundane existence anywhere else they wound up. Not to mention this slight tipping of the cosmic scale for a few castaways is nothing compared to the unmitigated disaster that would be MiB getting off the island.

    It only ends once. Anything before that is just progress. So therefore can it be argued that destruction and corruption are necessary for progress? Intriguing message there, yet like in life it is said oftentimes "through adversity comes strength". It seems, in life, you do really need a little salt in the stew to make it palatable.

    • @christiandominguez6686
      @christiandominguez6686 5 місяців тому +1

      I do agree some type of adversity might be necessary from time to time. But for sure there can be progress without those things being a factor. There is no progress in destruction and corruption only regression. Overcoming them and other adversities can lead to great progress too. But it is not the adversity itself that causes the progress. It is our choices and what we do with adversity that determines that.

Theyre one and the same. The Monster is now part of MIB, his memories remain thanks to the Monster scanning his soul when it escaped like it scanned other people in the show, so it makes sense that the Monster/MIB chooses to use its original body's form after his body's demise because he wishes he was a human again (Monster as Locke in Season 6 admits he likes to walk around as Locke instead of flying more efficiently as the Smoke because he likes reminding himself he was once human).
