Good info Cap'n! I always use a popping cork near the oyster rakes and walk the tide up with different leaders as the tide rises. Like you say, this is a very effective way to catch fish! I also jump up and down like a ten year old when that cork goes under cause you dont always know what you're gonna catch!😂Thanks!

Definitely one of my favorite ways to fish, especially with a DOA shrimp at the end of the line. Super blessed to have a hubby that has showed me the best ways to fish to catch the most fish possible! ;)

    Hi Joshua,
    Thanks for another good video.
I use a similar setup, but the one I use has an adjustable depth so you can easily adjust the depth of your bait to different depths of water without cutting off your current fluorocarbon and retying a different length line on which is a big time waster. The one I use is a Betts Low Country Lightning #770-O-Y. This one has a yellow bobber. I think Betts also offers it in a red colored bobber . I typically use a piece of Fluorocarbon about 5 to 6 foot long. To make the adjustable depth work I tie bobber stopper knots above and below bobber. Then you can easily adjust your depth while fishing. If they are not biting at one depth you can easily change it to another. The fluorocarbon travels though a brass tube which allows for depth adjustment. Occasionally one of both of the bobber stopper knots will loosen up. If this happens just tie another next to it and you are back in business.
The Betts Low Country Lightning #770 - 0-Y is my flats fishing go to setup.
    John

At 4:02, by the "pot hole" aka sandy part, you can see a fish swim away pretty quickly. haha. Cool video man, like always! I fish a popping cork and cut pins as bait. I have had the most success that way. Lures are great, but... I like being lazy and...ya... Haha.

I love throwimg a poping cork expesuly in heavy wind when its hard to trow a lure and i rig them thruw the tail to make it look like they are fleeing when you are poping the cork, when i want them to flick on the top i use no weight but when i want to cover water i put a little spit shot on

Josh I have a question for you, have you ever had any success with the artificial shrimp on a pop cork? I've seen the rig in stores but never thought artificial would be as effective as live bait for this rig. I've had good luck with this rig in the past. Also I really enjoyed today's video. Tight lines

Just curious why your leader is heavier than you Main line ? I was always taught to run heavier mainline. A break awake on the sinker/ leader as a breakaway. So you don't have the fish run off with your spool

Enjoy your videos watch at 4:04 to 4:06 approx as a fish darts away from popping cork on the right side through the pothole...i seem to have better luck in the clear water with small weighted styrofoam ones with a slit in them and the peg to hold it in place plus you can easliy change depth and remove it if you want without retying.

The other has a top like a popping lure,, but does that make it better.. Thanks for sharing the equipment and hook you use.. Keep up the great work.. A lways your friend, fan, and subscriber..
