Not all popping corks are the same. Flat face splashes more water. Poppers with brass balls make a better sound in the water that many say is the same as a game fish feeding. You also might want to put a swivel on the bottom of the popper so you can change out leader li es easily. Also, us a bigger test weight for your leader lines, saltwater fishing with poppers attracts bigger fish ie Reds.
Thanks for posting! I just liberated a brand new DOA deadly combo from the mangroves today and I have never used one before. Going to give it a try now!
Thanks for the demo! One question I have is: what kind of fish are you targeting here? Is it flounder near the bottom? Stripers nearer to the surface? Also, you didn't show how to use the croaker hook. Thanks in advance!
I've never used it for King! And from a pier it matters what you are going after. If big fish I would up it to 30-50lb mono for the leader and a larger size hook. Anything live is always good for bait.
can I use snap swivel that I already tied to my mainline to connect to popping cork swivel for easy switch? I don't have a luxury to afford new rod and reel at the moment so I always use snap swivel so I can switch out rigs if need to, but with popping cork rig can I do that here??
I'm hoping to try this for the first time tomorrow if I can find the doa shrimp. Didn't see at walmart. Bass pro should have it to though. Should I go for a slow reel back or moderate? P.s. appreciate the video
Do 2-3 pops and then reel in the slack in the line and let the cork sit for 3-5 seconds and repeat the pops. This way you almost don’t need to retrieve it as when you pop the cork it will work it’s way back.
Excellent video! Im a beginner and this video really answered most of my questions. Thanks man
HotSaauceTV glad you found it helpful! Tight lines!

What about using it for float fishing for King..what hook and bait would you use fishing from a pier??

I would think so, I don't think a small snap swivel would affect the popping cork action very much.
