@@davidandrews8007 absolutely, we are producing a lot of excess power. If you want to be pedantic, charging my G6 from zero to 80 Kwh (not likely) would cost me 5c per Kw/h not credited by my electricity supplier, so a maximum of 80KW/h x 5c = $4.00. Call it nearly zero cost then.

I couldn’t be more thrilled with the decision! The G6 has exceeded my expectations, and even my wife agrees that it feels like a significant upgrade in terms of experience compared to our Mercedes. Interestingly, the Hedin Automotive Group (which distributes Xpeng in the Benelux) only recently started delivering these cars, and I’m the first in my region to drive one. Test drive one last week at XPeng HQ Mascot Sydney. The long range version, this thing looks bigger in real than in the video clips. It packs with a lot of power when accelrating. The auto parking experience was also quite interestng.
Hope you enjoy your new car Viking. The range and charging speed are very good. You should make a series of videos about your ownership experience. I'm waiting for the new Model Y to come out before I decide on which EV I plan to purchase. I won't have a Chinese EV to choose from here in the US, so I'm very curious to see how they hold up long term.
Hi Viking, I've put this car on my short list and i am very curious how well behave the glass sunroof in a sunny day! I am woried about the sun heat. Ty.
Dark interior I get it with your children but dark colour on the exterior is going to heat up and use more energy to keep cool. For example, take new housing development in Sydney western suburbs with black rooves they are hotter than hell.
Yes I’d never buy the black car or even dark grey which is my favourite. I had one and in Korea it was impossible to get on a hot day without pre airconditioning the car. I don’t like white cars but if given black or white the latter would always be my choice.
If you apply a good sealant like Gyeon Leather Shield and keep cleaning the seats once a month white seats can be kept rather nice and they look amazing
E Viking I agree with you about the G6. I am a Tesla owner. The Chinese are on the verge of surpassing Tesla on quality, safety tech and looks. As much as I like Tesla, I wish the Chinese EVs were available in the US.
For sure, charging speeds and battery sizes-but the most important question for me is-does the xpeng has a native youtube app? And do you get ota software updates for this car?
I’d never get a dark exterior car living in a hot sunny country! I got the white Tesla M3 2024 refresh and it still struggles to keep cool in NSW summer heat with aftermarket ceiling covers to help reduce heat gain from dark glass roof

If you want "just a car", then Xpeng is a reasonable choice. Tesla goes way beyond being "just a car" and is a latent self-driving income-generating transporter. Tesla (and Tesla owners) no longer worry about specs that are purely car related, and Tesla has long since moved on from thinking about "just cars". Sam, Just placed an order for XPeng G6 based on your recommendation. It is good to see reviews from someone on Australia. Most of the other G6 reviews are from overseas. Watched one for SG and the reviewer was indifferent about the handling but then he seemed indifferent about what he wanted. We also have a Polestar 2, since May 2022. Don't charge from our solar as he have a home battery and charging would deplete this. Home charger is connected to off-peak controlled load circuit so charging uis overnight. Notice from you video that you have solar hot water as well as the PV. Hope that this works better in the Hunter than ours did in Canberra. Failed to heat the water in winter so relied on booser element to heat water so only had half tank of hot water in winter. Replaced it with Sanden heat pump HW. Watch quite a few of you videos. Really informative. Give my best to your family.
Thanks for the review. I would be interested in a comparison of the Seal Premium to the G6 given their comparable pricing. Let me know if you want to do a trip to Melbourne from Sydney - me in my Seal, you in your G6. 🙂
Depends on your finances . 1000$ in XAI320 is 4000 XAI320 if it goes to 50% of ath in 2024 thats a 600% gain. If it goes equal to ath . Its a 1200% gain.
We bought the Tesla a few years ago with the intent to keep it for at least 10 years, especially if FSD does come to the UK. If we were to swap out then it would need to be at least 400 real world miles, ideally 500 so we never need to use on-route chargers. Of course if the cost of charging here in the UK comes down to a more reasonable level, say 20 pence per kilowatt then we would be happy to charge away from home so a lower range of say 300 miles would be okay but to be honest we prefer to charge for free off our own solar !
Looks good Sam. Great colour I like the white Interior myself but yours is fine too especially with the family The seats are so soft. Very luxurious Keep up the good work Sam Cheers Alex Happy New Year 🎉
How are the things and bongs? Does it beep at you Everytime you turn your head out go over the speed limit and can these distracting "warnings" be easily turned off?
Nice video. Not a criticism, I enjoy your insights. I tend to think prices could go higher if XAI320 rockets. But understand the logic for sandbagging estimates. My opinion is XAI320 breaks 1, perhaps reaches 10 ATH, if conditions are right. But broader forces are at play now. We’re moving into really unknown territory. And these entities are shrewd. I think there’s massive manipulation ahead. If XAI320 survives that, well, we’re likely in for a good pump.
Manufacturers can set the charge current at anything they like, but what is it really doing to the longevity of the battery. You will know in 4 or 5 year. The G6 does look nice but what is spare parts and service support like compared to other EV suppliers. I'm waiting for the new Model Y before making a decision. And then there is the Nio new model the ONVO.
Sam, honest opinion on the glass sun roof, is it too hot for our climate, presume there is no solid cover for it, just not sure it will work in our hot climate. cheers. Barry
Sam can AU RHD Xpeng G6 be charged currently at a Tesla SuperCharger in Australia? someone drove Melbourne to Sydney in a G6 and they vlogged it and when tried to charge at a Tesla SuperCharger it didn’t work. Could you make a video about this with your own G6 and a local Tesla SuperCharger?
Hi Sam. I see that chinese cars use a lot of electronic gadgets. I find it concerning as I think that this level of electronic options increases the risk of breakdowns and future cost of repairs. What do you reckon? Thanks 😊
I'm glad you're happy with your choice of vehicle. Personally I'm looking forward to my Juniper Model Y. Partly because of the autonomy available a month at a time. I'm retired and looking forward to the quiet ride and low stress of driving long distances. I'm 73 now and an old time engine builder and drag racer. I drove a Model Y the first time last August and I have never been more impressed with the power and smoothness. I have experienced under 9 seconds at 150 mph in my life and it doesn't compare with the Tesla ride.
Yup i put it all in XAI320, literally more money i thought i even had 💀, i seen people sell their car put it all on XAI320 and double their money. Scared money dont make no money 😤
What's the Xpeng after sales support like? Buying a car as it rolls off the boat in Australia is one thing but getting left high and dry because there is no after sales support would be my biggest worry with a Chinese EV brand. There are horror stories of existing Chinese EV's being off the road for months due to a lack of spare parts and poor after sales service.
Do the whole family love the car too. Any criticisms I’ve heard XPeng owners in Europe had some issues with small problems so it will be interesting to see how yours goes I’ve noticed the BYD Atto 3 has a poor aircon. Doesn’t work at standstill and struggles over 25c. Lots of complaints on UA-cam
One of the most important things for me is storage space. We have a model 3 and a Honda Odyssey at the moment for long trips with 2 kids, a big dog and luggage. When replacing the Honda, storage will be key. Maybe the Model Y might have enough space because of the frunk. G6 maybe not enough but also interested in the X9.
As a designer, when I first look at a car, I think about how it would be to hand wash it. The G6 is flowing perfection, like an egg. Need to see and learn more about the G6.
I own a Tesla M3 and I go everyday to my office 35 kms without touching the steering. Mind you. This is using the free version Autopilot . Let me know if the Xpeng G6 can do that.

Congratulations 🎉 Black looks great! enjoy it 🙂
What is the range, 0 to 60 time, price and type of battery?
agreed on XAI320 36-38x coming up
SUI and XAI320 are my top performers. 🚀
Can the app start/stop charging and set the amps like Tesla ?
I'm a long time follower of Xpeng, I bought their shares on the nyse when they were $30 😂. Still a fan and hoping they turn a profit soin as you said. But if you ask me which EV I'd want to buy, it's the Zeekr 001 no contest.
Sam,
Just placed an order for XPeng G6 based on your recommendation.
Does not get over the air updates and full self driving and a super charger network?
My friend brought one too. They also have the Tesla. The family love it and doesn't drive their Porsche anymore
Nice looking car , I like the color and styling!
Thanks for the review. I would be interested in a comparison of the Seal Premium to the G6 given their comparable pricing. Let me know if you want to do a trip to Melbourne from Sydney - me in my Seal, you in your G6. 🙂
Reviews have said not as quite as current model 3/upcoming Y?
Depends on your finances . 1000$ in XAI320 is 4000 XAI320 if it goes to 50% of ath in 2024 thats a 600% gain. If it goes equal to ath . Its a 1200% gain.
XAI320 pumping upcoming 🚀💰
XAI320 Pumping🚀🚀🚀
You called it a month ago and now XAI320 is blowing up glad I listened
We bought the Tesla a few years ago with the intent to keep it for at least 10 years, especially if FSD does come to the UK. If we were to swap out then it would need to be at least 400 real world miles, ideally 500 so we never need to use on-route chargers.
Of course if the cost of charging here in the UK comes down to a more reasonable level, say 20 pence per kilowatt then we would be happy to charge away from home so a lower range of say 300 miles would be okay but to be honest we prefer to charge for free off our own solar !
Looks good Sam. Great colour
I like the white Interior myself but yours is fine too especially with the family
The seats are so soft. Very luxurious
Keep up the good work Sam
Cheers Alex
Happy New Year 🎉
Happy New Year to you and your family!...
Thanks! Happy New Year to you and yours too!
How are the things and bongs? Does it beep at you Everytime you turn your head out go over the speed limit and can these distracting "warnings" be easily turned off?
XAI320$ to the moooon 🚀. XAI320$ will hit 1bn marketcap soon, its volume is insane. Binance or coinbase listing might be soon🎉🎉
When I saw everything about XAI320 it puzzled me why it was so low (in market cap), I got in at 14 cents🙏
Happy 2025 to you and your family Sam and everyone ❤🙏
Isn't the G6more like a model 3? it only has 2 rows of seats. If I am wrong can a 6 or 7 seat one be ordered?
I sold everything and bought XAI320 on the dip! Holding until 20B! The best way to get millions during bullrun IMHO!
Sam, honest opinion on the glass sun roof, is it too hot for our climate, presume there is no solid cover for it, just not sure it will work in our hot climate.
cheers.
Barry
You can easily order a cover for the panoramic roof. They're all over the internet. This is like saying there's no cover for Teslas.
I live in qld and it doesn't get hot in the car
I got a Black as well... with white interior though
Good news XAI320 will be added to Binance 🚀🚀
Sam can AU RHD Xpeng G6 be charged currently at a Tesla SuperCharger in Australia? someone drove Melbourne to Sydney in a G6 and they vlogged it and when tried to charge at a Tesla SuperCharger it didn’t work. Could you make a video about this with your own G6 and a local Tesla SuperCharger?
I’m really getting bullish on the XAI320 eco system
I love it in the Orange with cream interior
Hi! Here in Spain, XPENG is much more expensive than Tesla model Y
I wish I would’ve bought X ping stock like two years ago.
Why, you'd have made about 2% gains.
You can buy it today! Xpeng is down -44,5 % since the beginning.
You can't own Chinese stock.
Just a unenforceable contract with a Cayman Island shell company.

The car looks very nice
Do the whole family love the car too. Any criticisms
I’ve heard XPeng owners in Europe had some issues with small problems so it will be interesting to see how yours goes
I’ve noticed the BYD Atto 3 has a poor aircon. Doesn’t work at standstill and struggles over 25c. Lots of complaints on UA-cam
It's about time y'all mentioned XAI320
Any news on Xpeng coming to Perth WA. Website just says coming soon. We have BYD and Zeekr here though
What about the BIG QUESTION, the Turnery battery do you only charge to 80%? Are you worried about battery safety and degradation?
I’m putting EVERYTHING in XAI320 …. ALL IN BABY
Sam. Instead of wasting your solar. You should selling it back into the grid ? Do they offer that in Australia ?
Yep, but we get 3.5 cents per kilowatt hour - so virtually nothing really
One of the most important things for me is storage space. We have a model 3 and a Honda Odyssey at the moment for long trips with 2 kids, a big dog and luggage.
When replacing the Honda, storage will be key. Maybe the Model Y might have enough space because of the frunk. G6 maybe not enough but also interested in the X9.
Model Y technology and awesome after market support.
@@manishpjoshi it can …..but it would be able to do it worse traffic conditions and did you enjoy paying the extra 10k for it ….free with the G6 !
