Kind of late to the topic but yes, she has been a villain in the comics, few times, she even almost kill cable once and also joined Apocalypse at some point, and she's also been a full hero as an x-men member, but in general what usually define her character is being anti hero as a solo mercenary or X-Force member.

Domino's superpower alters probability and increases her luck capability I guess meaning that if she wants to take a shot from 200 yards away her luck will probably make her hit that Target or if she's lucky in a fight she might be able to take down people bigger and stronger than her by attacking their Achilles heel without even knowing it if they have one I'm going to guess if she uses a technique known as acupressure or human acupuncture in a fight she would probably be very effective
If you'd observe in the present she's working for Magneto, but in the distopic future she's with Professor X, in both instances she's doing what she think is better for her

I.E. the name domino, the gun shots she fires are often lucky shots, things will stop working or glitch the way that she needs them to, someone with the right power will show up to assist her at just the right moment.
I mean, there's no rule that the mutants need to have a helpful power or ANY power at all, even if most of them do (because that makes it fun for the viewers). This is not her case, but her mutation could simply affect her appearance
