These lessons are in a format that I can understand. I really wish there were more anglo concertina lessons. I guess I'll perfect Twinkle twinkle little star and Frère Jacques while I wait. Thanks for making this! Subbed.
Hey, yeah I wish I had more too... unfortunately because the concertina has more moving parts the animation takes longer and I don't have the time to make them:(
@@KerinGedge I can understand that when looking at the amount of work you put into the videos. If you ever feel like you have the time and the energy to make one you would make me very happy.
Hey mate, I'm having a long break from concertina I'm afraid... I found i was over extending myself and needed to focus on harmonica... my plan is that when my channel finally starts replacing my day job then I'll start making more complicated lessons, and concertina animation is really time consuming!
Kerin Gedge Fere Jacques (in English it's Are You Sleeping) & Where Is Thumbkin is all the same song but different words. I call this method the "Keyboard Accordion Style" of playing the Concertina because the Right Hand plays the Melody while the Left Hand plays the Accompaniment exactly like on an Accordion, or even so a Keyboard Instrument.
@@KerinGedge The 130 Key Chemnitzer Concertina is the easiest thing to play because the Buttons are all marked w/ Numbers, & it has up to 4 Ranks of Reeds, maybe 5 for a super huge sound.
Hey mate, i enjoyed your two concertina lessons. I also stay in NZ in Dunedin. This is a longshot but do you maybe have any literature available that can assist me to work out the notes on a 30 button anglo concertina from piano sheet music. I own a 20 button D/G and a concertina connection Elize duet and then a 40 button Wheatstone that i try to learn. I struggle to figure out which notes to play left and right. Your tutorials make it look easy until i try to work it out from piano sheet music. When do i use the row of notes the furthest away from me and with which rows. Any info that will assist me to convert sheet music to concertina will assist me a lot. I will understand if you don't want to share any information. I can share some south african concertina lessons with you if you are interested. Thanks in advance.
Hey, I wish I could help you.. Concertina is one of those instruments that I wish I played properly but I really only dabbled in it for a little while. I'm hoping to pick it up again one day when I have more time, but sadly that day is not today :( Good luck! Oh and always good to meet another fellow Kiwi on here!
