Larxene having "Step on you energy" is basically confirmed in one of the Manga. Some time during the events of 358/2, she reads the works of the Marquis de Sade. The origin of the word Sadism.
After years of being semi-checked out of the series, these videos got me to buy KH3 so I could play it blind before watching. Now that I've finally finished it, I am so excited to come back and watch the rest of this series. Cheers, lads.
Adding comments to these reuploads for the algorithm, because this series absolutely deserves more viewership. Fun trivia: in the original let it go scene in the movie, there's an error where Elsa's hair clips through her model. When you side by side the movie and the game, that error is fixed in the game's version of the scene.
On my first playthrough of KH3, back when it initially dropped, I had thought Repliku was just Riku plucked from his emo phase in 1. It wasn't till the Keyblade Graveyard that I was like "oh shit, it is Repliku." Lol
Okay but like Arendelle was chosen way before the movie came out (like around 3D’s release) because Nomura saw the concept and was like “YES I need that in III”. All you need to know is that, metaphorically, Riku is Elsa.
On the comment about where does it say vanitas was formless in the birth by sleep novel it confirms that he was faceless like a heartless with red eyes
So as a Sonny Moore stand, I feel like I can clarify why Skrillex did the music for KH3. Anyone who was a fan of FromFirstToLast in their teens was made aware that Sonny Moore, singer of FFTL, AKA: SKRILLEX, was always a super fan of the games and said in multiple interviews after he left the band, that he wanted to maybe work with hikaru utada. One of the first songs that skrillex ever released was a remix of utadas. Fast forward to when the original song that was going to be used for the title track was released, it was very underwhelming. Sonny approached Utada with an idea for, "face my fears", thus completing Sonny's quest to one day work with her and his life long dream, all because he played kh1 as a kid. Love the show. Thanks for the entertainment!
So for the why do the Twilight Town Gang know Roxas. He actually bumped into and conversed with them several times during 358/2 specifically interacting with Pence on a few occasions.
Youll probably mention it but im pretty sure i remember lore that the Attractions are Light based magics. Or it could be a sleeping worlds theory thing
Almost nothing was added in the HD remakes. They were added in the Japanese exclusive "final mix" versions that were basically dlc. Those versions were made before the next game in rhe series so it's not like they just "went back and added stuff to make the games make sense" it's more like we got versions that we never had before
I'd like to clarify the extra islands are completely optional only there for exploration, loot, and upgrading your ship. You can beeline straight to the last encounter after Port Royal if you so choose.
I know the lore is the point of the series, but I do genuinely like the mention of gameplay mechanics and sound design in this video. Keep that up in other videos going forward!
1:13:24 The reason the Gigas don't move is they're empty mechas. Presumably whatever action figure you put into them would come alive and operate them, but they're being manned by Heartless to make them move
On a revisit to this video. Right after Ansem and Xemnas say "Set your heart free" in Twiglight Town. Sora says "Its not darkness. Not if it helps him!" As the fight starts. Just a cool moment of him seeing darkness as a form of good
where riku loses his hair and gets his dream eater hair back and where xigbar gets cut off mid sentance is the drop point for them being in the second timeline in the sleeping realm.
I think woody tells sora the toys dont move because theyre not "aware" yet or something. Young xehanort obtains the time keyblade as a result of ansem going back and giving him the time travel gift. He then leaves DI and goes to Scala and trains up as a normal keyblade trainee to one day inherit the "no name" keyblade. The org cant just go to worlds and grab a princess because they dont know the identities of them all. They have ideas but no confirmation. Larxene says as much when shes in arendelle that she doesnt know if they are princesses of light and is hanging about to confirm if they are. Its why org members are in many different worlds, they split up to find them like maleficents team was split up across mamy worlds Also the Caribbean is my fav world :( With regards to vexen being a midgame reton. I always got the feeling he didn't want to join the org again but was forced because they needed him to build the replicas for the majority of their plan to work. He was norted but still feels strongly about working for them
The funniest part of this video, is that technically every single one of Neil's predictions for KH3 came true. SPOILERS FOR VIDEO BELOW 1: clash between light and dark - Yup, that happens. 2: X Blade will be forged - Also yup. 3: Sora wields the X Blade - Sora gets to use it just once, so he can put Kingdom Hearts back where it came from. 4: Sora, Roxas and Ventus fight together - Not all at once but they do all fight alongside one another. 5: Somebody dies for real - Every single hero getting swallowed up and vaporized by an evil F5 tornado made of shadow monsters. Yup dead, thank goodness for time travel. Neilstrodomus everyone!
Listening though this again just because I do that periodically for some god forsaken reason. I fucking love the absolute *venom* in Neil’s voice when 2.9 rocks his world. He is *so* done.
turns out frozen was one of the most cut worlds in the game we were supposed to go through all of elsas castle along with a darkness fueled elsa bossfight
I think another things about Vexen that maybe you guys forgot from Chain of Memories because at the time it had been 200 years since you'd covered that game, but Vexen was actually the one that told Sora Marluxia was altering his memories so that Sora would be Marluxia's pawn. That's why Axel showed up and murdered him, because Vexen was actively working against the perceived goals of the Organization in order to protect Sora. Post becoming a Nobody, he wasn't totally an evil person anymore. He wanted to continue his research on replicas, but he didn't have his "heart" set on fucking with Sora and tried to help him in the end. All of that to say, I don't think Vexen changing sides is a 180 degree heel turn. It's more like... A 150 degree heel turn... Until you realize he only pretended to rejoin the organization in 3 so he could get full access to his research again and then defect once it was safe to do so to help the Guardians of Light with their goals
As someone who hates challenge and loves flashy spectacle, I couldn't disagree more about the attractions in this game, I was giggling and clapping every time I watched Sora, Donald and Goofy having fun on the magical rides, it's everything I could wish for, tbh
About the “In this world you come from a video game” line, I feel like you guys were taking it too seriously… How I see it, it’s not literal, it was just Young Xehanort mocking the toys and trying to be cool with a clever one liner before getting Sora out of the way
Ok, so: If the heroes fight Xehanort, he wins. If the heroes Don't fight Xehanort, he just kidnaps the princesses and wins. They can't exactly Not fight, because if he comes at one of them with a shiv, they're not gonna want to just stand there and take it, or run away Forever. I think I have a solution: We find someone who's NOT a warrior of light, to kill Xehanort. Just call the cops, we know they won't have hearts of light. 'specially if we can lure him to some of the older Disney movies.
@@nicktoons125 I'm making it perfectly clear that if Nomura loves that series, he had loved it into the ground. The series LOOKS pretty but it has become vapid and it's story is all over the place. It has become an example of the kind of IP that is only there to milk money off of fans with no regard to the IP itself. kH was ridiculous and imo is wasting the talent of those devs because Square Enix can't stop trying to exploit fans who love it. They have taken that story, watered it down and presented it on every platform except a main one, and expected for it's audience to somehow keep track of all the events. I waited many years for this main line entry and it was lacking. Square Enix doesn't care about it's fans.
@@alextorres8635 ? And I mean it's an anime of course the story is all over the place (don't know about vapid), ?, and wait a company is milking a IP? How shocking! Almost like EVERY company does that! And OK, it was lacking for you, some people loved it, and you can't say that they don't, because we don't have any proof that they don't.

Algorithm Comment: The Kingdom Hearts 2.9 moment absolutely killed me. One of the best moments of this rewatch!
First time going through this series, and I love Neil's slow descent into Darkness over the course of it.
I'm glad my pain brought you something good- Neil

That "Get F'd" from Neil gets me every time hahaha
I also had that same visceral rage when seeing "Kingdom Hearts II.9"
Long time fan, still wanted to punch nomura in the face for that one
Chase: “You can’t just shove a keyblade in the hands of a princess of light”
Kairi: 👁👄👁
Neil: I've been having these weird thoughts lately. Like, is any of this real or not?

I feel like monty doesn’t realise that it’s The Foretellers not the Four Tellers
59:32 Not Haley, Miyu Irino, the original japanese voice, who was frustrated with being typecast.

There's a keyblade in KH2 that looks like a giant car key and I thought it was stupid back then too.
So for the why do the Twilight Town Gang know Roxas. He actually bumped into and conversed with them several times during 358/2 specifically interacting with Pence on a few occasions.
It is also because the Data of Twilight Town Gang knew Roxas in the Data, and they resonance with the copies of themselves.

For the subject of world renames, Hollow Bastion wasn't always Hollow Bastion, and they still recognize outsiders after the name change.
Its a security key but giant.
I know the lore is the point of the series, but I do genuinely like the mention of gameplay mechanics and sound design in this video. Keep that up in other videos going forward!
The dlc adds so much more context to the end of this game though...
Only some scenes are "phase 2" worthy
the irony of Sora's outfit is that a yellow belt would have brought it all together.......
Watching all of Lore Dump Kingdom Hearts a second time. Love you lads.

The "let your heart be your guiding key" confused the shit out of me the first time i play KH3. Hell it confused me until back cover 30 minutes ago
Genuinely this has made my week finding these and listening to the absolute chaos
On a revisit to this video. Right after Ansem and Xemnas say "Set your heart free" in Twiglight Town. Sora says "Its not darkness. Not if it helps him!" As the fight starts. Just a cool moment of him seeing darkness as a form of good
That’s sort of the opposite isn’t it? Sora literally says “if it’s good for you it isn’t darkness”
1:30:24 made me laugh hearing you rage at that
where riku loses his hair and gets his dream eater hair back and where xigbar gets cut off mid sentance is the drop point for them being in the second timeline in the sleeping realm.
