The kinkaku brothers add absolutely nothing good to the story. They cause the incredibly unsatisfying death of tobirama, they cheapen 9 tails chakra, they cause this plot hole, and they're completely uninteresting
It should be considered a conspiracy theory instead of fact. There is no way you could convince me that a team lead by the Kinkaku brothers forced Tobirama and his squad (considered the best shinobi of their time) to retreat. After watching the disappointing display of kinkaku brothers in the 4th ninja war arc, I’m not convinced. Likely, they were used as scapegoats to cover up the real orchestrators of Tobiramas death.
Obito's entire life is a plot hole. He was able put entire ninetails under genjutsu, but he didnt even tried it on minato. He has the best teleportation jutsu, was able to go toe to toe with minato, 16 yrs later he should have gotten insanely stronger & faster. He should have been able to pop up in any village & kidnap their jinchurikies. He has hashi cells, mind reading, genjutsu, healing, copying, etc. I just dont get it Kishimooto. 👍

Me personally I've never been wild about Obito being the secret leader of the Akatsuki. I'd prefer if Pain was the leader of his own group and Obito was just the devil on his shoulder, secretly influencing him but not the real leader. Kinda like Danzo and Hiruzen.
I've always felt the same way. I really wish the story was written in such a way to where Pain was the final boss. Obito has NOTHING on Nagato in terms of character and story.

Now he did obviously replace that arm but that’s not a ressurection and it wasn’t a death. Obito should have gone with Pain in order to attack Konoha and obtain the Nine-Tailed Fox to avoid the failure of the mission, not declare war on the five great Nation.
Obito accompanied with Team Taka and Kisame would have easily captured Naruto, if they had gone with Pain and Konan. Konoha would have been even more devastated.

Obitos original plan was NOT to use just his zetsu army to take on the world before Kabuto showed up. 2. 8:12 Obito was NOT following the eye of the Moon plan just to see Rin again! Obito's philosophy* The reason why Obito was executing the Eye of the Moon plan, was because he was trying to prevent anyone else in the world from ever having to experience the lost and suffering he did FOREVER! He was trying to end world suffering! For that, he was willing to make any sacrifice! Slaughter thousands, it doesnt matter! Because that reality will soon be replaced with one where no one can die in such a heart breaking way, for all the rest of eternity! You see, when Rin died, Madara taught Obito a lesson: in this world, success is not guaranteed! Sometimes people you love dearly die, and your dreams of being with them, become forever impossible! You see Madara famously had the philosophy of "use the darkness in someones heart to change and control them". The reason he chose to take the approach he did with obito was because he quickly learned from spending time with obito, that despite his constant hope and will to never give up, he never really found much success in anything he did in life. He failed at basically everything, yet still he kept trying, and kept believing that he could do it all someday with enough effort. E.g. The seal on his heart also played a role), and he technically was correct with his reasoning. Madara changed obito's heart, not his mind. It wasnt about rin: he could revived her like he did madara. He knew about the technique when he was still 14, right after madaras death. It was about his philosophy. That, and Madara put a seal on his heart, preventing his betrayal, so he kinda had to play along with it.

Great analysis! I'd like to add a bit to it as well, which explains Obito's weird decisions. While a part of Obito wanted to proceed with the "eye of the moon" plan, there was a part of him that was still doubting his actions. I think the war was partly due to him wanting to test the world in his sick way, and to see if people can come together and endure the struggled they have to go through. This is mostly notable when Obito is testing Naruto throughout their whole fight. He wants to break Naruto to prove that there is nothing but despair in the world, but it is Naruto's strength and support by others that keeps him going no matter what, which ultimately results in Obito siding with him and the allied forces. If Obito only saw despair and was completely detached from the world, he would have never listened to Naruto's words, nor would he care about his actions. Another moment worth noting is when Minato has a conversation with Obito in chapter 642. Obito expresses to Minato "You were my teacher, and yet you didn't realize it was me. That's just who you are, fundamentally". Obito is insulting Minato in this conversation, but also making it known that Minato did not recognize him. I believe that this is another indication of Obito wanting to be seen and saved. There is another moment that supports this but I don't know when it happens in the story. In summary, Obito has mixed emotions about everything he does and is in an internal battle while also battling the world to see which ideology will prove to be stronger. If no part of Obito thought that there was hope in the world, he would never have joined Naruto in the fight against Madara and Kaguya.

Personally I think that Obito may have been planning to evolve Sasuke’s eyes into a Rennigan as a backup if things went sideways or to revive Madara. He had Zetsu with Hashirama’s cells like Madara used to augment him and a reincarnation of Indra. It’s possible.
there's a possibility. Obito did plant multiple White Zetsu on Sasuke. Obito might be planning on having Sasuke get into a near death state fighting Naruto, use White Zetsu to heal Sasuke's injuries and pray to Hagoromo for Sasuke to awaken a new Rinnegan.

Or Kishimoto could have stated that the partial chakra from Kurama and gyuki were enough to wake the ten tails but not use infinite tsukiyomi since Kurama alone is the largest pool of chakra the ten tails is missing.

Swag kage made a very good fix for this, basically naruto gets the ninetails extracted from him just like marara did and dies but then tsunade comes in and does the same jutsu that granny chyio did
I has very few, if any! In regards to this video, I strongly believe that Obito did a lot of these irrational things because there was a part of him that still believed in humanity, and his actions were like a test to the world, to see if they can come together or if his rejection of reality will eventually be proven to be true, and tsuki no me will be the right thing to do. There are plenty of moments in the Naruto manga where Obito acts in ways that would suggest he has mixed feelings about whatever he is doing, which is why he ultimately gives up on his goal and joins Naruto in the fight against Madara and Kaguya.
That's why I always tell people to watch naruto only once and then it will be a perfect anime. Once you watch it more than once then you will find all it's flaws
I think they could have killed Naruto and Bee and resurect Naruto with Chiyo`s jutsu. Maybe Tsunade sacrifices herself to do it, since we would already have Sakura (even she was not as good as her master but still would give her more, since she would be the only and the best Medic Ninja in the field, and maybe have Shizune help her in some way)
Obito already declared the war and was about to execute Kabuto . He wanted to blackmail him using edo Madara but let’s be real. Even if he did, Madara would have freed himself out of the jutsu and fight alongside Obito. Kabuto would have to cancel all edo tensei if he wanted to avoid this

People get so comfortable using terms like “plot hole” because of its gravitas on social media platforms, that they fail miserably in defining the word. If you recall, madara n obito consistently reiterated the fact that the jubi would become incredibly unstable n difficult control when revived with incomplete portions of guiki n kurama’s chakra, n if possible, they wanted to make sure they had all of their chakra. Secondly, obito had a deal with madara that prevented him from making any rash decisions with the jubi. He was to make sure madara was revived before any further steps with project tsukynomi. Obviously obito went in a little bit of a different direction because of his antagonization of naruto, kakashi, n minato. In conclusion, not only is this not a “plot hole”, not only is this not inconsistent, but the steps that obito took in his plan were perfectly indicative of the journey his character took throughout the war. I like your solution to this problem, but like most plot twists, I still think it would need some foreshadowing, like some hints that the partial transformation is possible, otherwise it'll be a bit of an asspull to worsen the situation, call it diabolus ex machina.
I think another issue with Obito is the idea that he was using Nagato. When Pain showed up, his goal was made loud and clear; to make the 10 tails and use it as a weapon as a means of bringing together "peace" through shared pain. Obito later says Nagato approved of Tsukuyomi, but that was never Nagato's plan. The story gets really messy around the 5 Kage arc, and this seems like a retcon
@@liebertjohann8524 He does later on in the story, specifically that Nagato approved of Tsukiyomi. Maybe he was lying but it's still more or less a retcon because he was supposed to be using him to revive the real Madara, but then he never had any intention to, Kabuto stirred that up.

Ok there are things i don't agree with you 1.I belive obito started the war because he wasn't confident he would win or he didn't belive the infinite tsukuyomi was the only solution to peace.He declared war so as to make him the common enemy of the world and thus unite it with a common struggle.A war.So that if he fails atleast a temporary peace between a the nations woudl be formed if he wins there will be permanent. 2.For Obito to travel to the other side of the world he would have to travel through the kamui dimension and get out of it and summon the gedo masa.The problem is at that time he was fighting Kakshi,Guy,Bee and Naruto.Kakashi had kamui and he could've followed him with the others.So it would be a waste of chakra.Now you could argue fighting in the kamui dimension was easier as the allaince couldn't reach him there but so couldn't Madara his greatest ally. 3.I belive just killing Killer bee would be better and getting the entire 8 tails in the gedo masa. 4.Also for me it didn't make sense as to why Minato and Kushina's avatars i guess were there inside Naruto's head.I would make it so that Minato sealed a bit of His and Kushina's soul into Naruto just in case he lost full control of the 9 tails as it had happend many times with Kushina so he could prevent it's unsealment.That's what happens in the pain and the war arc.So Obito uses the Rinnegan to absord that part of Minato's and Kushina's soul and get the nine tails chakra.This would also give

Obito's main plan from how I see it is too collect all the tailed Beast, after creating a situation that let's him escape madara's control (meaning he needs a enemy to stab him, while surviving), and also thinning the people that are a threat. The war is to create a situation where he can free himself from the seal in his heart then he can get the tailed beast later, the war is a smoke screen to do that by killing as many enemy that can get in his way as possible, while also freeing himself from madara. The zetsu arm and kamui mean he doesn't have to do a direct fight at any time as he and the arm can appear anywhere. He's main issue is Naruto and kabuto(madara). They created most of the issues by thinning he's forces via naruto killing or recruiting most of the akatsuki, and theirs also kaubto who creates a new threat that he cant just easily kill or control thereby forcing him to move more careful and not able to control where his enemies were going cause he also needs more people to die, and weakened, while also freeing himself later on. You understand things more when you start to understand that he can't easily extract the tailed beast like how madara can(he doesn't have the Chakra for it), and he also has a seal from Madara that is also hindering him, and theirs also black zetsu who he knows/assumes is created by Madara.

I'm doing a re read on naruto manga and there was something weird that itachi didn't do for some reason. Shisui gave his eyes to itachi, then why didn't itachi replaced his eyes with shisui's to awake the EMS? sure he didn't have a mangekyo sharingan at that time but why didn't he stored the eyes and then do the replace after the uchiha carnage? seems like a waste
They could have easily explained the reason why Obito struggled so much to control the Ten Tails was because it was incomplete. All the chakras pooled inside the Gedo Statue were not in balance, so the Ten Tails was wild and feral, causing Obito to struggle to contain it inside him, causing him to lose the use of Kamui as well. Hence why he wanted to make sure he completed the Ten Tails with the maximum amount of chakra possible, but the war and Madara breaking free of the Edo Tensei forced his hand and he had to make sure he became the Ten Tails Jinchuriki as soon as possible, nerf of not.
I'm all good with little incosistencies now and again, but there are far too many that add up by the end. I'm still mad at the Gedo statue still going after only getting bits of 8 and 9 after putting so much emphasis on getting energy by killing the host. Not to mention what is the difference between "It won't be at full power, but it'll do", when it's still putting out blast and stuff that devastate the landscape all the same? It might as well be called "Full power" at that point.
I find stuff like this hilarious, and I agree with most of the video. That said, while there wasn't really a PLOT reason why Obito didn't just revive the ten tails earlier, which is what you actually focused on for this video, there IS a STORY reason for this, and long story short, it's just his characterization. He has doubts about his current path, and he wants to test Naruto to validate his path. He wanted to do so ever since Nagato betrayed Obito after meeting Naruto. That's why he wanted to pit Sasuke against Naruto (apart from the soooo spectacular fight he wanted to watch). But in order to do so, he has to actually test Naruto's resolve and unwillingness to give up. So if he just revives the ten tails in secret, he can't actually test Naruto like he wanted. Even before Naruto, Obito ALWAYS had doubts about his path, but the world continuously showed him that his current path was the only way. That's why Obito sits in the background for most of the series, because he's letting the world prove his path right despite his internal doubts. That's the STORY reason, but not the PLOT reason, and there is an important difference. Plot wise, they should've foreshadowed the fact that you CAN partially revive the ten tails and added a plot reason for why Obito DOESNT want to do this, maybe because of some side effect or condition or consequence from doing so, so doing this was essentially a last resort for Obito. The problem though, is that they never did that last part, and the ten tails just revives and continues to evolve all fine and dandy like it never mattered lol. I also like the idea of Kinkaku and Ginkaku just having 8 tails chakra instead of nine tails chakra, and having the gedo statue steal 1 tail's worth of kurama's chakra could easily work for Obito gaining some of the nine tails' chakra. This way the war is NECESSARY (or at least the confrontation between Naruto and Obito) for Obito to revive the ten tails, meaning he is FORCED to confront Naruto, which would only further substantiate his internal need to test Naruto. This is a perfect way of connecting the plot and story, rather than using the story to justify the plot. That's not to say it's BAD how it is, but it would be BETTER this way in my opinion.
It’s not a “plothole”, you quite literally explain why he does what he does and it’s because he is arrogant and thinks he’ll be able to get the full tailed beast chakra from Bee and Naruto.
I always find it baffling, when people complain about that stuff and call it "plot holes" when characters in a story don't act hundret percent rationally and always in their best interest all the time. While thinking about a story and character motivation is good and you should always be critical, even of something you love, most of the time people are missing the forest for the trees. First of all, if Obito just teleported on the other side of the continent and did the partial 10 tails infinite tsukuyomi, then there would be no story, no conflict, just a dude releasing a doomsday weapon somewhere off screen and winning. The story is not just about his plan and the steps he needs to do to perfectly achieve it. Obito wants to make a statement, he wants to break the spirit of the Shinobi world so they would accept his plan as an act of divine benevolence. He also wants revenge on the Shinobi system for letting his love die. He wants revenge on Kakashi, on the Kages, and he wants to show everyone that he is deserving of the Divine Power of the Sage of Six Paths. you can't do all of that by just executing your plan while nobody's watching. Also, Madara had his own plans and his own motivation, that fed into this. He wanted to be the benevolent god, he wanted revenge on the System as well, and to prove that his way was the right one, instead of the path Hashirama took. This is what all those fights and posturing are about. And that is just text. That's their stated goals. On a meta level, or on a subtextual level, every fight, every conflict is one of ideas and ideals. It is about different ways one tries to achieve peace - the Villains through subjugation, Naruto and the Shinobi Alliance through comradery, connection and trust, that is also the symbolism behind the reincarnation of Ashura and Indra ind Naruto and Sasuke.
another fix when having both 8 and 9 tailed chakra pieces inside the statue. everything stays the same except one caveat is added. The ten tails is very hard uncontrollable as it desperately seeks out the 8 & 9 tails to become complete and this uncontrollably only gets worse the further it is from those two beats, so even if Obita takes it to the other side of the planet then neither he nor madara even as a jinchuriki would be able to control it no matter what. This way Obito could use his limited control resulting from Bee and Naruto being very close to it to force infinite tsukiyomi to work if he manages to keep the alliance occupied for long enough
I would have had Obito take the 8 tails halfway through the fight. Which would raise the stakes even more, after a while he takes the 9 tails out of Naruto, Naruto gets the half that Minato has, and Obito remakes the 10 tails, not knowing that its incomplete, for he thought Naruto had the Full thing. Bee barely does anything after the 10 tails shows up, so he is best utilized by dying to power up the bad guys.
You could also add to the story of why Obito planned for his enemies to unite nations for a great ninja war, is because the infinite illusion ritual requires thousands of souls dying in the battle field. And it cannot be teleported anywhere once the God Tree is rooted on the ground sucking the nutrients it needed. With that set of Rules, that would make sense for Obito's character doing these questionable things. And thus another plot hole fixed.😅
The Akatsuki should have attacked altogether instead of in groups of 2. I see no reason for them to split up in that fashion. Stealth isn't ANY of the Akatsuki members' strength except Zetsu and MAYBE Obito but I don't consider Kamui a stealth technique. So if they went in full force and swiftly subdued the Jinchuuriki and used Kamui to move between Villages, the nations wouldn't have enough time to warn anybody. Honestly, it would be better if they chose to split up now, but only so everyone doesn't get tired during any single capture attempt. Worse case scenario Itachi would defect from Akatsuki early if this was the case but APPARENTLY the Rinnegan Supercedes the Sharingan so 6 Pains should technically be able to fold a sick Itachi. Tsukuyomi works by funneling chakra into your victim and Amaterasu is Chakra fire. The pain that drinks chakra is impervious to these methods of attack. Let's say none of this happened: I still think the Edo Tensei that Kabuto chose were sufficient to defeat the alliance. He just didn't deploy them properly. If they all attacked closer together, they could support each other. Kabuto was beyond well hidden and wasn't defending a landmark or city. Zabuzas Hidden Mist was thick enough to deny Sharingan precognition. Haku was more proficient than Zabuza and crystal Ice Mirror Jutsu still functions even when shattered. Particle Style guy could have wiped out the entire Alliance if he did Particle Kamehameha and waved it around. Madara could have begun the Assault with meteor spam or Perfect Susano'o and focused on the higher rank ninjas like Kakashi and Kage or even the sealing team instead rolling on fodder until Gaara and Naruto Sandwiched him. Kabuto could have learned how to use Shadow Clone Jutsu like the nerd he is and sent a Sage Clone into combat. Edo Pain could have 1 tapped Naruto if he was with Madara instead of Itachi. KCM makes no sense and does too much, half of 'almost limitless' isn't still 'almost limitless'. Why does the Salamander guy have venomous blood? He's a Paper Mashe husk! Kakashi was hospitalized after using Kamui twice then died from using it one too many times but now he can spam it? The only person who had a technique that boosted strength substantially was Guy Sensei and Lee and they can't carry a fight this stacked against them. I firmly believe they should have lost that war.

But if obito really wanted the fight to go his way, it would be to Kamui Kakashi Uber Genjutsu him and take his eye back. For example, if he can genjutsu a junijuriki kage, he could probably do that to kakashi and if he can't well. Odds are just him versus kakashi. Odds are in obito's edge a little, even if both then can't use kamui. 15:27 They literally did that with Killer B, though right? Like 8T left a tiny bit of chakra behind for b so he could survive.
It's not a plothole so much as Obito was working on limited knowledge that was already limited by Madara's perception of the Tablet which itself was manipulated. It was never a requirement to gather all the Tailed Beasts and this is explained in Boruto as they have a 10 tails not included in the tailed Beast chronicals of Naruto. What BZetsu (Black Zetsu) was trying to do was bring Kaguya back in her original form. and judging by the lore of the 8 tails being stronger than the 7 previous tails and the 9th the same with the 8th and below; that it makes sense in order to bring Kaguya back with the most amount of her original Chakra, would be to gather everything. It's not Obito's Plothole, but rather Madara's Deception and BZetsus Manipulation that concludes Obitos character development.
A secret plan to kill Bee and Naruto would be probably better and more fulfilling. They could've separated Obito and Madara's arc because they are completely different characters. The correct line of plot should be Obito / Madara as the final boss and Obito doing a single mission without a war seems better. Madara as a master planner and starting the war would make more sense because he was the mastermind and biggest villain of the series till this DAY after all. Kaguya was stupid af.
I am curious how Naruto, Kakashi, and Yamuto v Obito at 5:24 would go. They would need to figure out how Kamui worked during the fight. Naruto would need some time to enter sage mode. I don't remember how exactly Sage mode works but would Naruto be able to hit Obito with his frog slap by pretending to miss?
I think the "partial tailed beast" thing gets ludicrous at a certain point. Really? One tentacle and some stomach lining is good enough for two whole tailed beasts? Why not make em all partial? Just lop a leg off each beast and call it done? I feel like if it's enough of a piece that the tailed beast has thoughts and a conscious voice within the jinchuuriki, it should count for the ten tails. As such, I never understood why they didn't just use Minato's half of Kurama. Just have the ten tails happen after the former Hokage appear. Obito could realize he'll have less trouble getting the chakra he needs if he baits Naruto into an attack and his father swoops in to protect him. You don't even need to have Minato die per se; losing the tailed beast historically killed every *living* jinchuuriki, but perhaps an edotensei could survive.
Even w/o Kabuto Obito would've won the war, and even if he lost he could always resurrect Madara and he'd take care of the rest. W/o knowing Naruto is the main char there's no reason to think he will gain the full power of Kurama, and w/o him who could stop Obito?

Another simple solution would be for Obito to NOT KNOW if the tsumuyomi would work with partial chakra only, and a suspicion that it would work only for some time. Obito’s biggest plot hole is the fact that he can use Kamui indefinitely without EMS. He basically spams it so much he becomes a one trick with it. He uses his Mangekyo ability more than every other character combined. Could it be because of the Hashirama cells? Maybe, but it’s never explained at all-like not a single line in the anime or manga explain this. Does this also mean that the mangekyo’s blindness is caused by physical damage? So could a skilled medical ninja reverse it then because clearly taking a family member’s eyes isn’t needed? If Obito is an Uchiha and he has Hashirama cells wouldn’t he unlock the Rinnegan and not EMS? Does unlocking the Rinnegan or having the potential to unlock the Rinnegan also unlock EMS? I would have thought that the method for gaining nine-tails chakra would have been edo-minato. Now he did obviously replace that arm but that’s not a ressurection and it wasn’t a death. Anybody could’ve cut off their arm in the same way to prevent the infection from spreading if they were fast enough and that does make sense because it takes time for the bugs to travel, now not anybody could replace their arm but the way he did so made sense.

People underestimate how big a task these are, there's a reason the Akatsuki existed, and that's coz a battle with jinchuuriki is essentially a gamble on your life.

Obito should have gone with Pain in order to attack Konoha and obtain the Nine-Tailed Fox to avoid the failure of the mission, not declare war on the five great Nation.
Obito accompanied with Team Taka and Kisame would have easily captured Naruto, if they had gone with Pain and Konan. Konoha would have been even more devastated.

1. Obitos original plan was NOT to use just his zetsu army to take on the world before Kabuto showed up.
2. 8:12 Obito was NOT following the eye of the Moon plan just to see Rin again! Additionally, Madara didnt "Brainwash" Obito. He influenced him sure, but not quite a 'brainwashing'.
So what's the truth on these points?
*1. Obito's original plan*
After Kabuto shows up with Madaras corpse, obito says multiple times in conversation to both zetsu and Kabuto that : "we have had to drastically change our plans to accommodate for you".
In other words, his original plan was VERY different from his plan after Kabutos arrival. If he was going to just attack the exact same way, but without the Edo tensei ninjas, then why the fuck does he say his plan "drastically changed"??? Clearly his original plan was something "drastically" different!
Now we dont know what that plan was, but we cant assume that his decision to declare war was a plot hole when we clearly dont know why obito originally did it! You have to give the show the benefit of the doubt, because it has, "plausible deniability". Meaning, it's still very possible that it WASNT an error, if his original plan is considered.
*2. Obito's philosophy*
The reason why Obito was executing the Eye of the Moon plan, was because he was trying to prevent anyone else in the world from ever having to experience the lost and suffering he did FOREVER! He was trying to end world suffering! For that, he was willing to make any sacrifice! Slaughter thousands, it doesnt matter! Because that reality will soon be replaced with one where no one can die in such a heart breaking way, for all the rest of eternity!
You see, when Rin died, Madara taught Obito a lesson: in this world, success is not guaranteed! Sometimes people you love dearly die, and your dreams of being with them, become forever impossible! You see Madara famously had the philosophy of "use the darkness in someones heart to change and control them".
The reason he chose to take the approach he did with obito was because he quickly learned from spending time with obito, that despite his constant hope and will to never give up, he never really found much success in anything he did in life. He failed at basically everything, yet still he kept trying, and kept believing that he could do it all someday with enough effort. E.g. He WILL become hokage, he WILL beat kakashi, and he WILL one day marry Rin!
Madara took advantage of this: he knew that if he could crush that hope, then Obito would fall deep into despair! His entire world view would be changed with the replacement of his hope with despair. Hope: the belief that so long as you keep trying, anything can be achieved eventually, was replaced with despair: the belief that not all dreams come true, even if they are one of the most important things in the world to you.
And that's exactly why he had Rin killed infront of Obito, and why I say Obito wasnt "brainwashed"! Obito still made all the decisions he made of his own free will (mostly. The seal on his heart also played a role), and he technically was correct with his reasoning. Madara changed obito's heart, not his mind. So obito now saught to end this reality where not all dreams come true, and where people suffer pain constantly, and replace it with one where life was nothing short of perfect for everyone!
It wasnt about rin: he could revived her like he did madara. He knew about the technique when he was still 14, right after madaras death. It was about his philosophy.
That, and Madara put a seal on his heart, preventing his betrayal, so he kinda had to play along with it.
Dygos videos feel like they’re always pushing the narrative that naruto is filled with plot holes when he uses a surface level interpretation of the story

I'd like to add a bit to it as well, which explains Obito's weird decisions.
While a part of Obito wanted to proceed with the "eye of the moon" plan, there was a part of him that was still doubting his actions. I think the war was partly due to him wanting to test the world in his sick way, and to see if people can come together and endure the struggled they have to go through.
This is mostly notable when Obito is testing Naruto throughout their whole fight. He wants to break Naruto to prove that there is nothing but despair in the world, but it is Naruto's strength and support by others that keeps him going no matter what, which ultimately results in Obito siding with him and the allied forces. If Obito only saw despair and was completely detached from the world, he would have never listened to Naruto's words, nor would he care about his actions.
Another moment worth noting is when Minato has a conversation with Obito in chapter 642. Obito expresses to Minato "You were my teacher, and yet you didn't realize it was me. That's just who you are, fundamentally".
Obito is insulting Minato in this conversation, but also making it known that Minato did not recognize him.
I believe that this is another indication of Obito wanting to be seen and saved. There is another moment that supports this but I don't know when it happens in the story.
In summary, Obito has mixed emotions about everything he does and is in an internal battle while also battling the world to see which ideology will prove to be stronger.
If no part of Obito thought that there was hope in the world, he would never have joined Naruto in the fight against Madara and Kaguya.

Obito declaring war on the 5 Great Nations was a HUGE mistake.
He also declare war with only the tails beast and an army of white zetsu if it wasn't for kabuto edo tensei he would lose pretty fast.

In regards to this video, I strongly believe that Obito did a lot of these irrational things because there was a part of him that still believed in humanity, and his actions were like a test to the world, to see if they can come together or if his rejection of reality will eventually be proven to be true, and tsuki no me will be the right thing to do.
There are plenty of moments in the Naruto manga where Obito acts in ways that would suggest he has mixed feelings about whatever he is doing, which is why he ultimately gives up on his goal and joins Naruto in the fight against Madara and Kaguya.

People get so comfortable using terms like “plot hole” because of its gravitas on social media platforms, that they fail miserably in defining the word.
If you recall, madara n obito consistently reiterated the fact that the jubi would become incredibly unstable n difficult control when revived with incomplete portions of guiki n kurama’s chakra, n if possible, they wanted to make sure they had all of their chakra.
Secondly, obito had a deal with madara that prevented him from making any rash decisions with the jubi. He was to make sure madara was revived before any further steps with project tsukynomi. Obviously obito went in a little bit of a different direction because of his antagonization of naruto, kakashi, n minato.
In conclusion, not only is this not a “plot hole”, not only is this not inconsistent, but the steps that obito took in his plan were perfectly indicative of the journey his character took throughout the war. But I get it, naruto misinfo sells

I think another issue with Obito is the idea that he was using Nagato. When Pain showed up, his goal was made loud and clear; to make the 10 tails and use it as a weapon as a means of bringing together "peace" through shared pain. Obito later says Nagato approved of Tsukuyomi, but that was never Nagato's plan. The story gets really messy around the 5 Kage arc, and this seems like a retcon

1.I belive obito started the war because he wasn't confident he would win or he didn't belive the infinite tsukuyomi was the only solution to peace.He declared war so as to make him the common enemy of the world and thus unite it with a common struggle.A war.So that if he fails atleast a temporary peace between a the nations woudl be formed if he wins there will be permanent.
2.For Obito to travel to the other side of the world he would have to travel through the kamui dimension and get out of it and summon the gedo masa.The problem is at that time he was fighting Kakshi,Guy,Bee and Naruto.Kakashi had kamui and he could've followed him with the others.So it would be a waste of chakra.Now you could argue fighting in the kamui dimension was easier as the allaince couldn't reach him there but so couldn't Madara his greatest ally.

Obito's main plan from how I see it is too collect all the tailed Beast, after creating a situation that let's him escape madara's control (meaning he needs a enemy to stab him, while surviving), and also thinning the people that are a threat. The war is to create a situation where he can free himself from the seal in his heart then he can get the tailed beast later, the war is a smoke screen to do that by killing as many enemy that can get in his way as possible, while also freeing himself from madara. The zetsu arm and kamui mean he doesn't have to do a direct fight at any time as he and the arm can appear anywhere. He's main issue is Naruto and kabuto(madara). They created most of the issues by thinning he's forces via naruto killing or recruiting most of the akatsuki, and theirs also kaubto who creates a new threat that he cant just easily kill or control thereby forcing him to move more careful and not able to control where his enemies were going cause he also needs more people to die, and weakened, while also freeing himself later on.
You understand things more when you start to understand that he can't easily extract the tailed beast like how madara can(he doesn't have the Chakra for it), and he also has a seal from Madara that is also hindering him, and theirs also black zetsu who he knows/assumes is created by Madara.

They could have easily explained the reason why Obito struggled so much to control the Ten Tails was because it was incomplete. All the chakras pooled inside the Gedo Statue were not in balance, so the Ten Tails was wild and feral, causing Obito to struggle to contain it inside him, causing him to lose the use of Kamui as well. Hence why he wanted to make sure he completed the Ten Tails with the maximum amount of chakra possible, but the war and Madara breaking free of the Edo Tensei forced his hand and he had to make sure he became the Ten Tails Jinchuriki as soon as possible, nerf of not.
I think sometimes you need some little inconsistencies in order for the plot to work
I'm all good with little incosistencies now and again, but there are far too many that add up by the end. I'm still mad at the Gedo statue still going after only getting bits of 8 and 9 after putting so much emphasis on getting energy by killing the host. Not to mention what is the difference between "It won't be at full power, but it'll do", when it's still putting out blast and stuff that devastate the landscape all the same? It might as well be called "Full power" at that point.

I find stuff like this hilarious, and I agree with most of the video. That said, while there wasn't really a PLOT reason why Obito didn't just revive the ten tails earlier, which is what you actually focused on for this video, there IS a STORY reason for this, and long story short, it's just his characterization. He has doubts about his current path, and he wants to test Naruto to validate his path. He wanted to do so ever since Nagato betrayed Obito after meeting Naruto. That's why he wanted to pit Sasuke against Naruto (apart from the soooo spectacular fight he wanted to watch). But in order to do so, he has to actually test Naruto's resolve and unwillingness to give up. So if he just revives the ten tails in secret, he can't actually test Naruto like he wanted. Even before Naruto, Obito ALWAYS had doubts about his path, but the world continuously showed him that his current path was the only way. That's why Obito sits in the background for most of the series, because he's letting the world prove his path right despite his internal doubts. That's the STORY reason, but not the PLOT reason, and there is an important difference. Plot wise, they should've foreshadowed the fact that you CAN partially revive the ten tails and added a plot reason for why Obito DOESNT want to do this, maybe because of some side effect or condition or consequence from doing so, so doing this was essentially a last resort for Obito. The problem though, is that they never did that last part, and the ten tails just revives and continues to evolve all fine and dandy like it never mattered lol. I also like the idea of Kinkaku and Ginkaku just having 8 tails chakra instead of nine tails chakra, and having the gedo statue steal 1 tail's worth of kurama's chakra could easily work for Obito gaining some of the nine tails' chakra. This way the war is NECESSARY (or at least the confrontation between Naruto and Obito) for Obito to revive the ten tails, meaning he is FORCED to confront Naruto, which would only further substantiate his internal need to test Naruto. This is a perfect way of connecting the plot and story, rather than using the story to justify the plot. That's not to say it's BAD how it is, but it would be BETTER this way in my opinion.

I always find it baffling, when people complain about that stuff and call it "plot holes" when characters in a story don't act hundret percent rationally and always in their best interest all the time.
While thinking about a story and character motivation is good and you should always be critical, even of something you love, most of the time people are missing the forest for the trees.
First of all, if Obito just teleported on the other side of the continent and did the partial 10 tails infinite tsukuyomi, then there would be no story, no conflict, just a dude releasing a doomsday weapon somewhere off screen and winning.
The story is not just about his plan and the steps he needs to do to perfectly achieve it. Obito wants to make a statement, he wants to break the spirit of the Shinobi world so they would accept his plan as an act of divine benevolence. He also wants revenge on the Shinobi system for letting his love die. He wants revenge on Kakashi, on the Kages, and he wants to show everyone that he is deserving of the Divine Power of the Sage of Six Paths. you can't do all of that by just executing your plan while nobody's watching.
Also, Madara had his own plans and his own motivation, that fed into this. He wanted to be the benevolent god, he wanted revenge on the System as well, and to prove that his way was the right one, instead of the path Hashirama took. This is what all those fights and posturing are about. And that is just text. That's their stated goals.
On a meta level, or on a subtextual level, every fight, every conflict is one of ideas and ideals. It is about different ways one tries to achieve peace - the Villains through subjugation, Naruto and the Shinobi Alliance through comradery, connection and trust, that is also the symbolism behind the reincarnation of Ashura and Indra ind Naruto and Sasuke.
I genuinely forgot Kinkaku & Ginkaku were a thing... that's how memorable they are.

everything stays the same except one caveat is added. The ten tails is very hard uncontrollable as it desperately seeks out the 8 & 9 tails to become complete and this uncontrollably only gets worse the further it is from those two beats, so even if Obita takes it to the other side of the planet then neither he nor madara even as a jinchuriki would be able to control it no matter what.
This way Obito could use his limited control resulting from Bee and Naruto being very close to it to force infinite tsukiyomi to work if he manages to keep the alliance occupied for long enough

I would have had Obito take the 8 tails halfway through the fight. Which would raise the stakes even more, after a while he takes the 9 tails out of Naruto, Naruto gets the half that Minato has, and Obito remakes the 10 tails, not knowing that its incomplete, for he thought Naruto had the Full thing.
Bee barely does anything after the 10 tails shows up, so he is best utilized by dying to power up the bad guys.

You could also add to the story of why Obito planned for his enemies to unite nations for a great ninja war, is because the infinite illusion ritual requires thousands of souls dying in the battle field. And it cannot be teleported anywhere once the God Tree is rooted on the ground sucking the nutrients it needed.
With that set of Rules, that would make sense for Obito's character doing these questionable things. And thus another plot hole fixed.😅

The Akatsuki should have attacked altogether instead of in groups of 2. I see no reason for them to split up in that fashion. Stealth isn't ANY of the Akatsuki members' strength except Zetsu and MAYBE Obito but I don't consider Kamui a stealth technique. So if they went in full force and swiftly subdued the Jinchuuriki and used Kamui to move between Villages, the nations wouldn't have enough time to warn anybody. Honestly, it would be better if they chose to split up now, but only so everyone doesn't get tired during any single capture attempt. Worse case scenario Itachi would defect from Akatsuki early if this was the case but APPARENTLY the Rinnegan Supercedes the Sharingan so 6 Pains should technically be able to fold a sick Itachi. Tsukuyomi works by funneling chakra into your victim and Amaterasu is Chakra fire. The pain that drinks chakra is impervious to these methods of attack.
Let's say none of this happened: I still think the Edo Tensei that Kabuto chose were sufficient to defeat the alliance. He just didn't deploy them properly. If they all attacked closer together, they could support each other. Kabuto was beyond well hidden and wasn't defending a landmark or city. Zabuzas Hidden Mist was thick enough to deny Sharingan precognition. Haku was more proficient than Zabuza and crystal Ice Mirror Jutsu still functions even when shattered. Particle Style guy could have wiped out the entire Alliance if he did Particle Kamehameha and waved it around. Madara could have begun the Assault with meteor spam or Perfect Susano'o and focused on the higher rank ninjas like Kakashi and Kage or even the sealing team instead rolling on fodder until Gaara and Naruto Sandwiched him. Kabuto could have learned how to use Shadow Clone Jutsu like the nerd he is and sent a Sage Clone into combat. Edo Pain could have 1 tapped Naruto if he was with Madara instead of Itachi.
KCM makes no sense and does too much, half of 'almost limitless' isn't still 'almost limitless'. Why does the Salamander guy have venomous blood? He's a Paper Mashe husk! Kakashi was hospitalized after using Kamui twice then died from using it one too many times but now he can spam it? The only person who had a technique that boosted strength substantially was Guy Sensei and Lee and they can't carry a fight this stacked against them. I firmly believe they should have lost that war.

It's not a plothole so much as Obito was working on limited knowledge that was already limited by Madara's perception of the Tablet which itself was manipulated. It was never a requirement to gather all the Tailed Beasts and this is explained in Boruto as they have a 10 tails not included in the tailed Beast chronicals of Naruto. What BZetsu (Black Zetsu) was trying to do was bring Kaguya back in her original form. and judging by the lore of the 8 tails being stronger than the 7 previous tails and the 9th the same with the 8th and below; that it makes sense in order to bring Kaguya back with the most amount of her original Chakra, would be to gather everything. It's not Obito's Plothole, but rather Madara's Deception and BZetsus Manipulation that concludes Obitos character development.

A secret plan to kill Bee and Naruto would be probably better and more fulfilling. They could've separated Obito and Madara's arc because they are completely different characters. The correct line of plot should be Obito / Madara as the final boss and Obito doing a single mission without a war seems better. Madara as a master planner and starting the war would make more sense because he was the mastermind and biggest villain of the series till this DAY after all. Kaguya was stupid af.

I think the "partial tailed beast" thing gets ludicrous at a certain point. Really? One tentacle and some stomach lining is good enough for two whole tailed beasts? Why not make em all partial? Just lop a leg off each beast and call it done? I feel like if it's enough of a piece that the tailed beast has thoughts and a conscious voice within the jinchuuriki, it should count for the ten tails.
As such, I never understood why they didn't just use Minato's half of Kurama. Just have the ten tails happen after the former Hokage appear. Obito could realize he'll have less trouble getting the chakra he needs if he baits Naruto into an attack and his father swoops in to protect him. You don't even need to have Minato die per se; losing the tailed beast historically killed every *living* jinchuuriki, but perhaps an edotensei could survive.
Even w/o Kabuto Obito would've won the war, and even if he lost he could always resurrect Madara and he'd take care of the rest. W/o knowing Naruto is the main char there's no reason to think he will gain the full power of Kurama, and w/o him who could stop Obito?

Another simple solution would be for Obito to NOT KNOW if the tsumuyomi would work with partial chakra only, and a suspicion that it would work only for some time. Then, imagine, he uses the tuskuyomi and everyone loses, he really wins... For 2 years, or something. But after those 2 years, everyone gets back, many actually end up convinced by the tsukuyoni, and the war becomes even more Difficult.

Obito’s biggest plot hole is the fact that he can use Kamui indefinitely without EMS. He basically spams it so much he becomes a one trick with it. He uses his Mangekyo ability more than every other character combined. Could it be because of the Hashirama cells? Maybe, but it’s never explained at all-like not a single line in the anime or manga explain this. Does this also mean that the mangekyo’s blindness is caused by physical damage? So could a skilled medical ninja reverse it then because clearly taking a family member’s eyes isn’t needed? If Obito is an Uchiha and he has Hashirama cells wouldn’t he unlock the Rinnegan and not EMS? Does unlocking the Rinnegan or having the potential to unlock the Rinnegan also unlock EMS? It just doesn’t make any sense…like at all.

I would have thought that the method for gaining nine-tails chakra would have been edo-minato. Killer Bee should have been the one Naruto saved with his cheat-code-asura powers after having his 8-tails taken. Guy should have absolutely just died. Not because I dislike Guy, he's actually pretty cool, but they build up the chakra-gate-death thing the whole series, and then it just doesn't matter... There were no consequences afterall. Only _after_ Guy dies should Naruto get his cheat-code powers to revive Bee who would have recently lost his 8-tails.
Or rather I should say _prevent_ Bee from dying as a result of having lost his 8-tails.
